    How do you go from frustrated and uninspired to having fun and exploring with your paints? Use this approach to awaken your creativity and rekindle your passion for painting. I use this technique often so try this if you want to paint but feel stuck and uninspired.
    I hate to feel stuck and just painting the same thing over and over again. When I feel like that it is SO important for me to try and SHIFT my perspective and rekindle my creative side and passion for painting.
    STEP 1. Start by taking a walk and collect some visual tidbits that you find inspiring or interesting in some way. If something sparks your curiosity or interest, snap a photo of it. Don’t overthink this.
    STEP 2. Using the photos for inspiration when I get back to the studio. Sometimes I’ll just doodle shapes in my sketchbook or try to recreate a range of neutral colors. I let myself explore the visual information I’ve seen and try not to judge anything that I’m doing.
    STEP 3. I guess you could call this a hand-painted mood-board. You can record texture, colors, shapes. Paint over things and layer you could also add text and write down thoughts, ideas and things you want to remember!
    Usually it’s not long before I’m fully absorbed in some kind of artmaking and creativity just takes over and hours pass by. So take a walk and collect some visual information from your neighborhood or your garden and give this approach a try.

    This was a fun one! To remind me to just relax and enjoy it when I'm able to, which, isn't often anymore 🥺 but... I try when this body will let me :)
    I've never seen a birch with all those gorgeous colors on it!!! On my goodness am I in love with that!!! I don't know if Google has anything like yours :/ but, I'd love it for reference. It is crazy beautiful!!
    I love how you did the dark ones with the dots.... these, with the thick chunky bark are what we have a lot of here where I live in TN. I love the light almost mint green patches all over them. Not sure if they're good for these trees or not, but I love when I can get outside and take some close up pictures of it because there's SO much texture and such beautiful coloring!! No birch right near me, which is sad because I love them! But, so fun to look at yours!!
    Thanks for always giving great ideas :)
    Hope you're well my friend!🥰

    Hi Marie Louise.
    Thank you for this creatively encouraging and inspiring video.
    We sometimes can surprise ourselves when we just relax and stop trying so hard with our artwork and enjoy the moment.
    I like the results of your two images.

    Thank you for the advice. I've got some thorny trees in my yard that could inspire me, and tiny berries when spring comes, and...see, you've got me thinking already!

    Hi Marie Louise! I love the neutral inks used in these mood boards. Can you share the brand/colours? Thank you!

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use Amsterdam and FW acrylic inks. Also sometimes Liquitex. I believe the color was Burnt Umber and black. And white.

  • @AliBaba-ke5jn
    @AliBaba-ke5jn ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Marie Louise. Do you use only yellow, Blue, red, black, and white in your paintings, or do you ever use the phthalo, alizarin, or violet colours as well? Don't see these in your paintings.

    Good morning! My name is Cristina and I live in Portugal. I am very keen in learning how to paint with acrylics. As I live in a small fishing village, there isn’t painting artists that could teach me unless I travel to main cities. So, I came up with an idea. I offer a free holiday at my home in return to free painting classes. Please let me know your thoughts and if you are interested on this offer I can send you more info. Thank you very much

    Why use ink not water color

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use watercolor. I use mainly acrylics so that was why I chose acrylic ink. I also like how the ink is waterproof when dry so that I can work over it again without it bleeding or risk of lifting the color. Hope that helps🎨
