32 years later and no one is at that level. The consistency after back to back hard tricks......speechless. this guy needs a star on Hollywood or something cause Rodney kicks butt!!
The fact that his competitors used to film 🎥 him so that they could watch and re-watch him do tricks and slow it down so that they could learn it is in itself an amazing achievement 👏
Skateboarding would never have evolved past ballerina spins and handstands without Rodney. He is literally the link between the two eras. I was 12 in socal when this plan b video came out. Street skating was my life. Damn what a time to be alive. If I could relive the 90s……..
Rodney is a savant! Given the fact people are still trying to learn things he created 30 years ago and more is testament to the monumental foundation he created for modern skateboarding. Not only his physical control and balance, cognition of his feet, the orientation of the board is phenomenal! Then add his generation beyond imagination he is untouchable for sometime to come. Incredible!!!
It really is incredible, seeing him do all these crazy late flip variants that people are still struggling to do today and still blow peoples' minds today, and he was already doing this 30 years ago and thinking up all kinds of wild variants!
I think it would take another very special savant type of person to push "low to the gorund" skating (not JUST flat but mostly lol) beyond what he did back then! I know there are people doing cool things these days, but a lot of it is other people just finally learning to do the things he already did back then.
I'm still doing the Magic flip from before he invented the flat ground Ollie! After that, every trick or flip he did using The Flat Ground Ollie 1st was invented by him. Music gets me every time
Only 40 years ahead because he invented everything in order to be ahead. Like he could be forever ahead because if he doesn't invent most tricks how long does it take a bunch of other people to invent them? Things might never even happen because there isn't one guy from another planet who comes along and goes look at all this shit you guys can do with this thing. Now look at all of the shit that only I can do but at least I'm showing you what might be possible. The dude isn't even real I don't think
@@df3kt He's very real, I've met him 3 times in person, he is so warm and friendly and approachable despite all the accolades and everything else, we'll never see another skater like him that's for sure.
I got to see him skate when I was 13 backstreet boards in Valparaiso, him and Jason Lee. It was a real treat, and I got to skate with them in the demo. They like the best skaters of the town skate with them one of the best days of my life.
Such a shame. Just goes to show you can be the best in the world at something and still be less popular. This is a better video part than any modern skater has and it only has 1k something views.
Greatest skateboarder of all time. No question.

first laser flip on video... but yeah, he invented it.

rodneys like one of the only guys who I can be mind blown from an entire flatground video part. he just does tricks nobdoy does.
It should have been Rodney Mullen's Pro Skater game series. Game mechanics and every trick were from Rodney.
Guy was one million years ahead of everybody
Guy IS one million years ahead of everybody
I agree, 'Guy' Mariano is/was one million years ahead of everyone.

I think the first pressure flip and lazer flip are on this part.

Well said
Know your roots, kids. This guy was making history before you were born.
I'm pretty sure the world's first laser flip is in this video.
Thank you Mr. Mullen 😌🙌🏻
Rodney’s the only person in any sport that was 4 decades ahead of his time. It’s still insane to watch the stuff he created over 30 years ago.
or 40 years ago for that matter,
Only 40 years ahead because he invented everything in order to be ahead. How is there a single dislike on this? Bloody beautiful

When Rodney went from freestyle to street it blew us all away.
Great Music choices and incredible tricks
O cara já é uma lenda, tanto como pessoa como principalmente como skater. Com essa música então.. combinou tanto com ele
fucking amazing. best times of skateboarding!!!!
Everybody had to learn how to skate like this guy he is the absolute goat of street skating...please leave the wax behind for the next guy.
The classic point Loma parking lot spot Nimitz and Rosecrans Blvd San Diego. Still fun to skate
nollie 3 shuv late flip was wild

Count yourself as one of the lucky ones
never even seen a double casper flip before
I don't think the comment section should even be on for Rodney's video parts. Because I'm always speechless when I watch him.😜
how are you gonna upload this and have the first kickflip casper slide ever done cut off at the end
Camera man leaping over the gap and still running after him 😇🫒
nice
O nível dele em 92 já era absurdo comparado com os outros skatistas.
Fucking first ever lazer flip !!!!
I
quad flip at 1:30 or what? Rodney is THE GOAT.
its crazy how if yu play as Rodney in THPS its basically the same as real life. like 3:18
What's the name of the trick he does at 2:09? Pure thing of beauty, how the hell did he land that?!
Backside 180 late double flip
0:59 impossible late varial flip jfc
Sell out
0:58 fake
Not fake. Th3res another clip of him doing it somewhere on youtube. Just as sketchy too.
Could you imagine Rodney faking something have you ever seen the guy in an interview .
That is the biggest compliment lol. This is 1992. Faking that would be ridiculous and people would wonder why we never got a sick skating moving.
Is this kid real?
