Man, it is too bad that videos are not like they used to be. They were so special back then. The good old days.
Kids need to remember how raw this was. A lot of these tricks and trick combinations and doing things switch was still being invented, tried, tried down a set of stairs, and figured out the same month it was filmed. Sometimes the same week, put like this, street skating had been born already, but this was the toddler skater getting up and taking its first steps, and most was caught on camera.

I was 12 when I first saw this video. My 12 year old self was blown away seeing what was being done on a skateboard . 31years latter and I'm still blown away with talent in this video. This video pushed skating so far and I feel so lucky to of skated in this era of skateboarding. Thanks for posting this video it brings back many memories of me growing up and skating with great friends many of which are unfortunately no longer with us.
THE LEGENDS OF STREET AND RAMP SKATING!!! People don't cruise around town anymore anymore ripping the scene at every parking lot or business that demonstrate their craziness of how far they'll go with a certain trick to demonstrate or show amazing abilities. Plus, people fear getting hurt now when before it was a badge of honor and a good story. The good old days of no safety, all muscle with no fear. That's why these guys are untouchable in skill level. I remember doing the same tricks off of school building roofs over gaps, very scary tricks. But, riders don't adapt or go wild anymore like these guys on the video or the old school riders that are now in their late 40's to 50's in age. Time sure flies and I miss those days of riding. Thanks for this video.
Around the spring of 1992, all the skateboarders from Las Vegas used to come up to the LipTrix skate park in St. George, UT. On any given night you could find Ryan Fabry, Mike Chu, Paul Smith, Kenny Anderson, Joe Nemeth, to name a few. We would skate for hours and then go out in the desert and party. It's kind of a trip when some pro skater asks you to buy them a beer. We would go back to Vegas and skate all the sick spots there too. Good times.
This video and the era was probably the most innovative of all time. So many tricks done hadn’t even been thought of before and it blew your brain to see someone do something that literally seemed impossible before that. But once it was done then the gate was open and the rest of us normal skaters could actually try to do these tricks. It’s such a contrast to today’s skating….where the level is so insanely high and technically almost impossible. Skateboarding is such an amazing thing and to see it come so far and continue to impress me is such a wonderful thing. And the dudes in this video have stood the test of time and will forever be seen as legends❤
this was one of my favorite videos when i was a youngster.....tried to up the ante after watching it....now it reminds me of how much better skating is than baseball.
This is like the beginning of the "tech" era, about to take over. Huge baggy pants, tiny wheels, pressure flips, under flips, darkslides, late flips, your nose or tail touches the curb doesn't count etc. And then you've got little kid Colin McKay and Danny Way (DC Shoes) Rodney Mullen pulling off crazy lines, Rick Howard styling it up. And the music. Man, this is super nostalgic! I'm an old man that experienced some awesome skateboarding. The community of it back then.....taking a break from an 8 hour day of skating and mischief to sit in a basement with everyone and idolize these VHS tapes.

Dude throws an inward shove it late double heel off the loading dock, impossible late flip in the puddle reflection shot, and a double flip late shove it. I hate to sound like that guy that talks about how this guy from back in the day threw it down like nobody else, but Rodney really did.

Skateboarding may not have been very popular, during this time, but, for me, it was the Golden Age of skateboarding. This was one of the best videos of that era.
Back then it was excitable to pressure flip and have your board bounce of the ground before landing the trick I loved the way it looked bouncing the board off the ground and I also love pressure flips Rodney just learned street a couple months before the video and he is still fucking incredible
