Rodney Mullen fully got his street flow in this section from the 1993 Plan B video Virtual Reality including the incredible Casper slide to 360 flip out - WORD
2:19 Casper slide to Trey flip. In a interview some years ago he said this was one of the hardest tricks he ever did and that he wouldn't want to do it again.
Watching Rodney is akin to taking in a breathtaking painting by Van Gogh, or getting immersed in the compositional genius of Beethoven. Dude is truly on a different level
25 years later and I am still speechless about Mullens Casper slide... Blew me away in '93 and continues to do so today. I am old now, but still doesn't get any better than this.
No matter how advanced tricks get today we can always reflect on the original pioneer of flip tricks and still be astounded with the amount of skill he had for his time. He still amazes me with these skills and the rarity of his skills today.
No one will ever be able to replicate half of these tricks. Double flip into a casper and his casper intro a tre flip are out of this world. He makes it look easy
The reason a lot of skaters pushed mongo when they were skating switch or fakie was to show that they weren’t in their usual stance, most of them could push properly either way but it helps the viewer know that what you’re seeing is switch or fakie.
I don't even know what the trick is called at 3:16, but it is by far one of the most impressive things I've ever seen done with a skateboard. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to change the rotational spin of the board mid-flight, mid-trick. Crazy.
2:06 OMG 2:37 WTF??? And here I am at 41, trying to straight my rolling ollies.....Anyways, every time I see a Rodney video from the day, I get happily depressed. How can anyone say that this guy was/is NOT the best by far skateboarder ever in the history of skateboarding is beyond me.....
+xxSuicideConvalescentxx but it looks like the board does a 360, not just a 180 as with a hardflip. Either way impressive. It would be interesting to know how many pro or ex pro street skaters have kids. A an average sized skater myself I can definitely say that my balls have been in many a compromising position due to one of my favourite activities :-)
+Carl Kamuti It is a hardflip and that is how hardflips looked back then it was a awkward trick. He was one of the first to do them and with hardflips the board would sometimes flip vertically. He just has a unique style which makes most tricks he does look different than how our tricks normally look. But I am pretty sure that Daewon Song used to do them the same way amongst other pros.
omg we laughed so hard @ Mullen back in the day..I don't know how he became respected...All the skaters in every World/planB video he ever owned/created= were elite and awesome without his guidance...Weirdo..So what if I cant Darkslide or weird upside down slide on my trucks or whatever that weird crap is..I know Mullens past and he bought respect.. I know,,Dont let the door hit me...
You gotta love the fact that Rodney Mullen was ripping tricks in '93 that pros in 2012 won't touch. I guess that's what legends are for.
2020 and he's still untouched
The man invented modern and future skateboarding.
Wow you posted that comment 10 years ago anyways how’s life
Yeah 1993 tre noseslide is crazy
Johnny Geiger has spent years trying to master the tricks Mullen did in 1 video lol
casper slide still to this day the sexiest best trick ever.
I think Rodney's special trick Casper Slide 360 flip out is the best special ever. Unlike Hawk's 900, its never been done again by anyone.
Darkslides.... Unreal but i honestly didn't think anyone could slide an anti casper 😅 whoa
2:19
Casper slide to Trey flip. In a interview some years ago he said this was one of the hardest tricks he ever did and that he wouldn't want to do it again.
Heard the same from jonny giger
Watch the toe flick with his back foot. Dear God that fucking board control.
@@andreimarsic6607 dude can keep living in rodneys shadow if he chooses
@@nilssonschmillson5395 anyone who attempts tricks like that would live in his shadow forever. You can't top Rodney.
I bet that land and roll away would be god like
2:06 ..amazing.
Rodney is an artist and you’re watching art. Truly, timeless.
Even today, in 2023, not a lot of people are doing these tricks. And the people who are, are directly inspired to do them because of this man.
If Rodney never transitioned to street and someone else released this part… today. It would break the internet.
This comment ^^
2:21 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

the most creative and uncomprehended skater I ever know.
Man, I remember the first time I saw Mullen skate. He made it look so easy; everything was so buttery smooth. Whole reason I got into skating.
Rodney Mullen basically has his own unique style of skateboarding. What this man has done for this sport is simply beautiful.

I'm still waiting for someone to pull off the 1 1/2 flip Casper Slide and Casper Slide 360 flip out. Its been 25 years and has not been again.
While we're at it, see if you can find anyone pulling off that anti-casper slide. I haven't been able to find one anywhere.
fucking fish eye 90s skate videos were the shit
No one will ever be able to replicate half of these tricks. Double flip into a casper and his casper intro a tre flip are out of this world. He makes it look easy
2:06. holy jesus.
they say skateboarding wasn't the same ever since...
100 years from now. This part 2ill still be talked about. Thank you Rodney!
2:25 best skateboard trick of all time right there
This man is an artist.
This is art. this isn’t a video part this is a artwork
This part never gets old
So much emotion in this part, virtual reality will always be the best skate part ever made
2:35 blows my mind. Reverse casper. Has anyone else ever done this?
I don't know I have still haven't seen anyone do one or even attempt it
It's called anti casper when I play Tony Hawk's Ps1
@@ilhamsombong4106 yeah it is an anti casper
I think jonny giger has a video on it but i dont think he fully did it
he has such a unique style!
Rodney Mullen man with that Casper Slide is awesome
so incredibly beautiful to watch, i love his style. the chillest ever. he's my favourite
I love the dark slide down balboa park ledges for the wonder. Wish those were still skateable.
2:20 "thank you, skate gods"
Never been done again!

GOAT
Brings me back 2002 when I got hold of my uncles old sk8 vids and saw Rodney mullen. Dude became my Idol.
Old school tunes...nice moves.
Thanks you Rodney, for all !
0:41 only he can make that trick look rad!
rodney is god of skateboard !!!
any skater do a big respect for rodney, he is the creator of skate street !!!
Mullen is a legend. Dude from philly did darkslide casper 360.
bow down.
Steve Riddle shut up
well said

Halfcab kickflip underflip
*Fakie 180 backside kickflip underflip
2:08 first thing that came to my mind was the hangover 2 elevator scene
you know you got STEEZE, when your board don't even know wtf is happening, all hail to the undisputed KING
casper slide got me... omfgg
I just got a signed Mullen board 😍💞😍💞
A genius both on & off the skateboard ! Theres was Plato, Leonardo Divinci, then the skateboard , then Rodney Mullen.
I loved Rodney mullen
love.
thanks, another song for the skate CD
OH MY GOD
Koston pushes mongo when riding switch so what, I do too... It's fine. There is no right or wrong in skating, every person has own style!
I still push mongo when going switch. It's a 90's thing.
I push mongo reg all the time and i dont do any switch tricks. I was skating for a while before I even noticed i pushed different
Rodney a frente de todos .
2.37 is that a backwards casper slide?? i have never seen that before, Unreal !!!
Might be an anti casper slide.
Rodney was the best !!
He still is the best
Waiting for that quad heel flip
... If its possible..
"I love you Mom, Rodney" *crying* omg thank you
The guys like Rodd. We're filthy and still are
I wish I could be as good as this guy :(
This dude was my idle when I was a little.kid.
Como pode existir 2 pessoas que não gostam disso?
Casper Flip....lo pude hacer solo una vez en la vida...después nunca más logré sacarlo.
Rodney Mullen is like me playing TrueSkate, but in real life. Every grind, gap, etc. has a complication of some sort. Every. single. one.
I LOVE YOU MUM
Props to Chris Cole for gettin me here

I want a Casper flip in skate 4
look at how little those wheels were back in the day LOL
this video was put up 2 years before days of future past came out, i'll bet someone who worked on it saw it.
RODNEY MULLEN STEEZE
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
When you play as Rodney in any THPS game, it makes game looks like simulation actually, not aracade... :D
Dat wheels.
The camera this was filmed with was so sick but none of them are working today. It was called the Canon A1 Digital.
wow if it wasnt for rodney non of us wouldve been skating lol he created the kickflip heel flip ollie 360 flip etc
Look at how tiny his wheels are.
that's the 90's for you
Bearing covers!:')
Shitt... this will be a hard project
Im trying to remake this skate video in true skate hoping that I dont get copyright striked from the song
that 1 dislike was tony hawk!
lol
its fakie.. so halfcab underflip?
Six people just don't know.
What's the trick about 27 seconds in?? The board is practically vertical between his legs. Risky position..
+Carl Kamuti It's called a hardflip.

+xxSuicideConvalescentxx I think if u look closely frame by frame looks like he flips it's back the opposite way like a hard flip under flip.
+Mike Ashworth nvm
thumbs up if chris cole sent u here
what is real life?
What's with the Jim croche?
got a problem with jim?
N0tCr4zy man not at all!!! I love jim croche
the first jimmy carlin
skateboard Forest skateboard... He has a different style in these videos.
Maybe his screen is upside down :p
Is there anyone out there who can do what Rodney did
Fox 8ball no
... or it is from his father.
3:16 wut?
Watch Olli Fevang. He did several kind of like that. He's not pro skater, just for fun
there is gretzky, lebron, whatever juiced up baseball player is hitting home runs and brady. above them all is mullen. end of story
lol thats funny
Yet another reason I don't feel bad for telling people rollerblading was lame. Rodney couldn't lose that bored if he tired.
Really?People still say that stupid "dis-i-like" shit?
What the fuck?
physics does not apply to him.
omg we laughed so hard @ Mullen back in the day..I don't know how he became respected...All the skaters in every World/planB video he ever owned/created= were elite and awesome without his guidance...Weirdo..So what if I cant Darkslide or weird upside down slide on my trucks or whatever that weird crap is..I know Mullens past and he bought respect.. Urrrdddeeerrrrrrpppppppppeeerrrllldduuurrrrr
Lmao he bought respect? Its {almost} the other way around
SO MUCH MONGO
