The batwing fairing has some drawbacks. It blocks your turn signals first of all. I recommend you take a look at the road warrior faring from Memphis shades.
As you will see in the videos that I made after this one, there is no good solution. I tried several different things from hooks and others. Nothing turned out to be a good solution. Although I like the fairing, it cuts down on the lighting. A primarily use a wind splitter windshield at this point. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Yes. The beauty of it is that it is super lightweight and doesn’t affect the performance of the bike at all. The downside is that it is pretty plain Jane on the inside. More importantly, for me is that it covers up the turn signals, and with a RoadKingSpecial, you need a special wiring system in order to connect any other turn signals to other parts of the bike. I am not using the faring anymore and will probably end up selling it here shortly. The alternative is the wind splitter windshield, which has been fabulous. I have a video about upgrades that I’m doing today coming out in the next two days and then we’re gonna go over everything that been updated on the bike since this video. A lot has changed, keep an eye out for it. Thank you for watching!
Looks nice but just wondering why you didn’t just get a street glide? It’s the same thing with out speakers. Unless you got it for long trips? So you can take on and off.
I am building a dragster, and did not need the electronics. I wanted to use the road king platform, but without all the weight. This light weight Memphis shield gives me the aerodynamics and wind relief without all the added bulk. It’s smaller in profile as well so it will complement the low dragster styling I want. Thanks for watching.
I was in the same market. Wanted a Street Glide, but found this exact same bike and was hooked on the color, but it wasn't an option on the street glide
Thank you for watching and commenting. Not exactly, as there’s a lot less weight upfront, and I inner change the bat wing with a windshield, the wind splitter, when I want to change the look or cooling performance. Finally the Memphis shades bat wing is a lot shorter and has more of a drag look then the factory.
Bought my 21 RKS about 3 months ago and I’m currently shopping for a fairing and came across your video

Hello, thank you for the video. Could you give me the internal dimensions of the Batwing (between the mounting brackets)
I absolutely will do this weekend
your girls are precious and the bubble wrap was probably a big prize 😂
Thanks!
You're supposed to look at instructions only after you've exhausted all other options...
lol!
What did you do with the indicators ?

Great vid. What is the brand of the fairing? Thanks
Thank you! Memphis shades…
Have you done a video on the relocation of the turn signals
No need to relocate them. That is a stock position for the Road King special. Thanks for the comment!
Iooks good on the outside but I don’t like the fact it doeshave an inner fairing

if you put a foam cover over the gopro, it reduces the wind noise to almost zero
Thank you, I will try that!
Nice bike!! Paint that faring the same color as your bike and it will look tits!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Thank you!
