About Breakout I think that you’re absolutely correct my friend, it’s a show bike. Here in Brazil we have a lot of breakouts with just one or two years for sale. The people buy the bike because it’s gorgeous but after one or two years of bad ride experience the put them for sale.
@simplybeingshipley on the RK, It should get the 117 like the rest of the touring models. My dealer has had a RK special for 6+ months. Agree the CEO should be toast along with the board, they screwed up. Live Wire is and has been a self sucking wound. Subscribed
I’m just keeping my 2011 FLHX I just redid my entire vavle train over and do all my own work on the bike. Why drop 30k on a new HD that’ll I’ll have to put another 8k to 10k to get it where I’m happy. My bikes runs better than my buddy ‘s 24 SG which has been in the shop more than my twin can ever has been. I’ll stay put with what I have
HD has caused such a problem for the sake of DEI than it was worth. Replace the board then move on and make it good with your core customers. Otherwise you’ve lost a lot of them forever. If I buy a new bike it’ll be an Indian
Great video I have owned 7 new Harleys I sold my last one 2019 road glide just before the crap hit the fan As long as the CEO is in place I will not buy a Harley , the Indian dealer near me is terrible I think I will wait to see what happens with the CEO or move over to Honda .
They should also offer a half dozen or so paint schemes/ colors on package models. Not necessarily to the level of total custom but maybe somewhere between that and CVO level. A lot of the colors the have come out with the last few years are ugly.
Recently bought a 20 year old FLHTCSE low miles cheap. Will not set foot in a Harley dealership anymore. They can kiss my you know what. Enjoyed the discussion.
It’s in the air right now. They’re not selling as good as they thought they would, primarily cause they don’t have a tour pack on the back. I don’t know if Harley’s gonna put more money into another model or not.
I disagree slightly regarding hd vs indian. I compared them back to back a few years ago. The quality of indian was subpar compared to hd. They were like a chinese knock-off. Poor fitment, poor molds, and lacking similar performance. I was seriously considering an Indian until I demo'd them back to back and parked them next to each other to do a direct comparison. Was kinda disappointed since the Indian was more affordable, turns out it was a lot "cheaper" too when it came to build quality and performance. You could certainly tell it was a Polaris trying to be a motorcycle.
Thank you for this video full of interesting information and also full of common sense and restraint unlike many agitators. Hoping that the company will be able to raise its head by offering us machines at decent prices that suit us old customers and also for new customers to recreate a solid foundation for the future...
I'm betting for dealers to survive they'll have to offer multiple brands. My harley dealer also sells royal Enfield. I was looking for a new tourer and couldn't stomach the harley management so went with a indian pursuit
Sportster line: add a cafe version to compete with similar RE/triumph/moto guzzi offerings Standard/Street Bob: needs 5gal tank. 17k for a 3 gal tank bike is robbery. Breakout: its too early 2000s chopper and not enough 1970s cool chopper, just replace it with the Wide Glide. Low Rider: make Low Riders chrome again. Fat Boy: fat back tires are hideous Road King: offer chrome version Touring: forget all tech, the most up to date tech will always be your own cell phone. Basically re introduce the touring line like the Electra Glide Standard with just a blank fairing and you can build from their if you so choose.
Dude no, the greatest bike HD ever developed is the 2022 and newer FXLRS and ST, updates to the 117s and colors on that platform should be coming in 25. The Fat Bob isn't close and I find it hard to believe they would update that bike. The Co would benefit more from CVO versions of FXLRS and ST than spending a dime on the Fat Bob.
The CEO needs to be fired. Also I think Harley needs to get back to their roots. I think they listened to much to the modernization crowd. The new Harley’s do not look like Harley’s. They got rid of the Road King standard, the sportster 883, and the new Harley’s don’t sound like a Harley. They made it what roughly 115 years on classic Harley sound and looks and then they go woke and modernized their lineup. Just my thoughts.
22 Pan America was my 1st Harley Davidson. When I bought the bike new around 22k (just the bike) I was confident that If I waned something new, the bikes value was a little protected. Wrong. Lets than 2 years later I was offed 10k for a trade in on a new bike. Not what I was expecting. That was way more depreciation then I ever seen any any other bike. I will ride the wheels of this bike before I let it go. Looking for a 2nd bike now and it will not be an HD. For 12k deprecation in 2 years I can get a new metric bike with way less operational costs.
Test rode a Sportster S on a 9 mile loop. Fast AF, and could not wait to get off of it after 9 miles. Your view of the Fat Bob, is turning it into a Low Rider. And what’s the point of that? The entry level sportster is just a solid NO. Every Japanese, as well as most other manufacturers all make better bikes at lower prices. And used Harleys are available everywhere at half the price of a sportster. And the used bikes will hold their value over time, unlike the huge depreciation that a new sportster will see.
Respect good vid. Why didn't HD finish the Nightsters ? Yes they need a proper range of a bike that sold well now doesn't sell. Because it's made overseas then there's probably a big profit I'm it for them to cut prices. But that won't work if it's a bike folk don't want
Take a look a couple of my videos previously. I show distinct pictures of both sides of everyone of the sportster bikes. The left-hand side is completely unfinished on all of the bikes.
@simplybeingshipley It sorta makes sense. It might cannibalize their Milwaukee 8 sales. I was hoping it'd be a best of both worlds situation. Want something more traditional? M8 for you. Want a high revving power house? Rev max it is. In a lovely cruiser frame. Perhaps a few years down the road.
Revmax is selling poorly. Not many want them. You better off getting another brand with a fully liquid cooled motor. Harley people still want the Harley motor look and sound.revmax is no where near that.
HD is not going broke because going back and forth with the Woke BS. The fact of the matter is prices for new bikes have soared to new levels where the average consumer doesn’t want to commit to that obligation. Couple the record high prices with high interest rates and you get to the real root of the problem as to why they are not selling bikes fast enough. I seen consumers fantasizing about buying a new HD but they are not credit worthy which makes matters even more worse. Until there’s a reset in MSRP and interest rates, HD will continue to suffer just like the auto industry.
I see your long list of semi-necessary mods, proving that new Hardleys are, and have been, disposable money pits. What is you plan for when your electronics become discontinued by the morons that run the MoCo? How many miles did you ride last season? BTW, Jochen the Rat is going to add 12 more engine variants to the ridiculous 51-engine lineup made since 1999.

You are spot on with the Sportster S. The rear shock is pathetic.

See the new video I posted today. Especially the first three minutes. I’m with you.
Dealer are still working through 23-24 models and the HOG club is down, while Enfield are romping it in.
The most credible 2025 speculation video I have seen. Thank you, and well done for such a great video.
Thank you!
CEO needs to go
Yup

With th package models, will you be able to by and install yourself and if you can will they tell you the BS you loose any warranty on the parts ?
@@craigerickson-z9q that is a good question

I feel your pain
Motorcycles are not investments. Every Motorcycle out there is cheaper now.
Yes, but there is a point that is reasonable
The dealers need to stop playing their games with markups and poor service. This is ruining the brand.
I hear you!

Dang. I wanted them to put the rev max into a soft tail like frame. I've said that for years. You just threw cold water on that notion.
Sorry for the news. Harley cannot commit to a steady direction.

You overlooked the almost universal horrible dealership experience. For now, Harley can FO!
Riding in thr Ozarks covered the rise in prices of all touring models in 2025 by $3k
That would be a very bad move
@simplybeingshipley RIGHT!!
The 2024 Road King has terrible colours and the price is too high for what's in the bike such as the engine and tech.
I definitely agree with you on the price!

I usually ride about 12,000 miles a year. Last year was a little bit over 11 1/2.
What do you ride?
