ive heard the load springs make the 3/4 clutch come off as the band is applied, so its not dragging in 3rd gear./ most of the old time builders say to use them.. they put them in for a reason.
planeium gear set not sprag btw. And your also supposed to air check it then check clearance with filler gauge which should be checked after air test and in between clutch friction plate and steal pressure plate.
If you understood the clutch and band application, you would know why the forward clutch has a wavy plate and why it has nothing to do with the 1-2 accumulator.
the forward and overrun frictions were from a shop out of Denver, they were Alto's, but i cannot remember what ones exactly they were. and the 3/4 clutch pack were borg warner.
Thanks again for your help today to get the truck back running
Thank you soo much for the detailed video!!! You are the best!!

Yes centrifugal force can actually cause the to rub against each other if that makes sense

You are so thorough with your explanation thank you so much
good job
How are those stage 3 blues?
Solid as can be. Have had zero issues!
@stevenmize8988 I can only get them in a complete set here where did u get them from
Looks like you have steels from 700r4 they are thinner then 4l60e and you can buy thinner pressure plate and those are boost springs
Atsg says leave springs out for improved 2-3 shift
when extra steels and frictions are put in the 3/4 do they use thinner steels and frictions?
Yes
Thank you!!
As long as our blowing engines and not tranny's your good haha😂

Ya probably so. I’m no expert. Nor claim to be lol
@@stevenmize8988 The reason the forward clutch has a wave plate is to cushion the clutches apply when the vehicle is first shifted into drive.
Good to know. Thank you
What frictions are those where did your get yours from TIA

Gotta know....is your dad's name Don?
It is not.
Where did you get those springs?
I believe they are from sonnax
