I just rebuilt my 2007 Chevrolet 4L60E following Jimmy's tutorials and it works again! Fantastic video series and presentation. Never thought I'd attempt this procedure but he made it easy as well as ordering the parts I needed. Highly recommended, thanks Jimmy!

Them lip seals are something else I destroyed the new ones but the old ones look fine but that was a lot more than you made it look at least for me

Outstanding presentation! I would suggest that you grind the mushroomed head off the bushing installation tool, a serious safety hazard. Louis S.

Followed complete lessons begin to to end . I unfortunately reused old torque converter and wondered why I had no lockup duh. Since I’ve replaced it and all good now.

I love how you skipped the part explianing how incredibly difficult it is to install that reverse input piston without damaging the seals. Good information on these videos, but that seal was so difficult, I ripped up 4 of them before I finally found a method that actually works. The feeler guage method does not (and I cant stress this enough), absolutely does NOT work.

100% agree. I struggled for a long time and nicked my first seal using the feeler strip. Stupid method of installing them. A simple piece of thin plastic sheet (a folder divider) formed in a cylinder around the piston bore had my seals installed in less than 1 minute.

Ok thank you i appreciated your help today im gonna start to rebuild it. Do recommend to change the sun shell even if its not broken

    • @transmissionbench7842

Hi victor. It may not be broken, but check for wear where it splines with the sun gear. Sometimes it's not actually broken, but it can be about to strip out. jimmy

I know this question is irrelevant to this video, but I am having a lot of leaking issues with my 4L30E in a 2001 Isuzu Trooper. I believe a solenoid is leaking, along with the hard line for the transmission cooler. The transmission cooler line is leaking from the fitting on the transmission housing. Is the bell housing of the 4L30E exactly the same as a 60E? I would like to swap the transmission and rid myself of the issues of the weak 30E.

Hello i have see all the videos and they are excellent i have a question i have a 94 and 95 4l60e i was wonder if i can interchange some internal parts and which ones could be? And are the case similar since they have a K?

Hi Victor. The drivetrain components are interchangeable. The 1995 valve body and separator plate are unique; be careful swapping stuff there.

@@transmissionbench7842 I consider myself a master transmission tech,Just what is the difference in the 1995 vavle body& seperator plate?.I have compared them more than once and other than different shift applications found them identical.

Hi, thanks for your excellent work. I repair my 4l60e watching your videos. It does not work perfectly because the pump is not working as good... I would like to know how can i repair the pump. What is the principal failure?. This transmission does not make any changes either Back or Drive neither 1st 2d 3th velocity. The turbine is not charging and i supossed is the pump over. Please help me and thank you again.

In lesson 7 he shows you how to install the boost valve. Pay attention to where he sets the snap ring in place. The snap ring needs to sit in the groove DEEP in the bore. If you don't seat this snap ring in the groove, it will instead stop the sleeve at the first shoulder in the bore. You will lose reverse and the forward gears will not shift well. It is very easy to make this mistake. I made this mistake when I installed a shift kit. Fortunately, this can be fixed without removing the transmission since you can access this snap ring just by removing the pan.

Hello i have a question on the valve body i decided to rebuild the 94 4l60e and i want to ask u if i also can use the sonnax valve that fix the 1870 code or that its only for the pwm

    • @transmissionbench7842
      @transmissionbench7842  9 ปีที่แล้ว

Good question Victor. The 1994 non-PWM valve body does not usually have a problem with a worn bore as the 1995 and later ones do... but the Sonnax regulator kit #S74741QK 1993-1997, will fit it.

Hi Iroc. I used a small block Chevy intake valve. The head diameter is 1.940", but any similar size valve or something else like a large socket can be used. Jimmy

When is it acceptable to keep an old reverse drum? I did the light test on mine, and there's a very small gap, not as bad the one shown at 4:12, and there's no color change on the surface.
