I've been a mechanic for 20 years and these plugs work great. One tip though, don't let all the air out of the tire, the more air pressure in the tire the better as this will keep the tire from flexing as much. Happy wrenching!

What do you do if your tire is on the car and your psi is at like 15? I’m trying this by myself and it’s not going well. Any help would be great!

I am about to try this myself. I have seen this done but I have never done it myself. The times that I have watched it they did it with the air inside of the tire and everything worked fine. Of course I'm at my house I have an air compressor and I have buddies that can fix it if I screw it up.... Just out of curiosity how did yours turn out?@@statikgaming1216

You don’t have to use the rubber cement. It’s actually better if you don’t use it. Its main purpose is to provide lubrication so you can insert it easier but if you can get it in without that, it’s actually better.

I keep a plug kit in the car. I've plugged many nail holes with it. You can keep the tire on the car and leave the air in the tire to make it easier to install the plug. Saves $20 per flat fix.

You forgot the spray water bottle with dishwashing soap. Spray it on the plug to see if it bubbles up. If it does then you have a slow leak. Redo!!

When I first did this my whole was too small (no Diddy) so I had to create a bigger whole which was no easy task. I felt like I was destroying the tires. Next thing you know, my tires are flat on the ground with no air left. The job became that much harder. I almost gave up. But managed to get the plug in the whole. (No diddy)

It will work in the center of the tire treads. But never use it on the sidewall or the tread close to the sidewall - the portion that flex a lot.

Your not supposed to let all the air out first one its easier two it helps it properly seal and you can take it or leave it on the rubber cement it won't hurt any but if your on the side of the road its not the going to make it or brake it you did do one thing everyone skips cutting off the extra

  • @AP-ph7hf

I just had pep boys tell me I didn’t have enough tread to plug the tire. Doesn’t make sense to me. My tires aren’t bald and I’m pretty sure Iv has tired that were plugged last even until severely worn tires .
