    Hey Peter! Again a wonderful video. As you replied to one of my comments earlier, I opted for a pair of Play 1s as a surrounds for my Sonos ARC and let me tell you the decision was perfect. I am enjoying the setup. The ARC has enough of bass to my liking and combining it with a pair of Play1s made it superb. TYSM.

    Hello Peter quick question, do i need the sub for sonos arc or go with 2 x ones?Only for movie's , i dont need big bass because of the neighbors.

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you have neighbours to consider, then the 2x ONEs will be great. Increases the surround effect quite a bit.

    Hi Pete. Ive got my One just recently, eventhough I don't have my Play One to compare now, the newer version is really better performing as far as audio is concerned with the addition of mic and capacitive touch control.

    Have you compared Sonos one sl vs Sonos one sl shadow edition?

  • @kuwarashta9941
    @kuwarashta9941 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi @Peter Pee, can I ask if adding this to Sonos Arc and Subwoofer would enhance the mids and highs. I come from Bose ecosystem and truly miss the crispness in Sonos ecosystem. Adding one SL will enhance the mids and highs, music?

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd say adding the sub helps. It removes the ARC's responsibility for bass and it can allocate more of its amplification power to the mids and highs.

    I am a bit curious how the difference would look you run trueplay with both, whether the resulting adjusted curves would be as similar, or if the truplay algorithm is different between the two generations.

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good point that you are making. I'd probably want to do Trueplay deep dive but not specific to One or Play:1.

  • @Franck_Lpg
    @Franck_Lpg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Peter,
    Again, very interesting video! I myself have a Sonos One SL. However, I have a problem. I don't know if you'll be able to help me. I have the Sonos Arc + the 2 One SL but unfortunately the right Sonos One SL which is close to the right wall is stronger after doing the True Play. I have seen similar topics on the internet:
    www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/h9dj54/trueplay_issue_with_50_system_right_surround_too/
    It seems that TruePlay lowers the sound thinking it sounds louder. This is a problem because TruePlay greatly favors the sound of the Arc but therefore disadvantages the sound of the Sonos One SL in some cases. Before True Play both One SL have the same volume but after TruePlay the volume changes... What could I do?

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In your Trueplay movement, go nearer the speaker that is louder after Trueplay. For the speaker that ends up softer, don't go too near that speaker during Trueplay.

    • @Franck_Lpg
      @Franck_Lpg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Peter,
      I understood where the problem came from. Because even after doing a TruePlay while emphasizing the problematic speaker, the problem persisted. In fact, it was a problem of inequality. However, they are placed at the same height but one was on a piece of furniture while the other was placed on the Sonos Arc cardboard placed vertically (yes it's stable lol). After placing the 2 boxes in which the Sonos Arc arrived, the two One SL have the same sound. Sonos is therefore very precise on the medium used on which the One SL is placed. Good to know !

    Peter i have a sonos Beam in my living room but im looking forward upgrading it should i get a Sub or 2 Surrounds?

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question and I want to get round to answering that in a video very soon. Whether you get a sub first or surrounds first really depends on the material that you watch and how big the room is. In general, I'd say get the sub first. The impact is visceral and much bigger than the surrounds.

    • @opulencehub
      @opulencehub 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterPee The Tv is kinda far away from the viewing Spot so i thought it would sound better if there 2 Surrounds in the corner of the living Room i know its not good for the best Sound but that would be the only Option to get more surround effect.
