Between my mid spec PC and Xbox I have all I really need for another year or two. The Xbox X has saved me a shed load of $$$.
Was about to do the exact same and get a new pc with a 4070ti but now I'm considering getting a series X for some laid back couch gaming. Would you recommend it? I have the same specs as your current PC.
Also worth it because you can set up dev mode with emulators. It's like buying the entire game library of PS2, Gamecube, and pretty much every game console that came before those. If you don't mind doing the work, anyway.
I'd go for it especially if that's the case and you already have a large physical library. The series x's backwards compatibility is pretty good. Not to mention that it's been going on sale a good amount for around 350 new, I'd definitely snatch one.
I love my Series X. I got it a couple months after launch and picked up the PS5 a month later. I love both of them. I prefer the XB controller but I think that is mostly due to hand arthitis and the PS5 triggers can be painful and I have to turn off rumble on both. In any case I love them both though I tend to use the XB more due to Gamepass which lets me try a bunch of games I would not otherwise buy. 350 USD? I'd say no considering they have been on sale for that price new, so I'd try and find it new for that price instead. But coming from a series s, I'm not entirely sure. Guess it depends on what display you're playing on and if you need the Xtra performance, or especially if you want or have physical discs.
It does not matter if you have a 1080p screen, 1440p, or 4k. I play on a 1080p 120hz monitor and the games looks fantastic either way. If you get the Series S just because you have a 1080p screen your games will look worse than the Series X cause the S is weak.
@@rees3lo While I think all of the Xbox Series consoles are great, I think the Series S Carbon Black 1TB model isn't good value. Where I live, it costs 360€ and isn't discounted yet. You can get the Series X for 440€ pretty much anywhere. The 80€ price difference is very minimal for 3x the power, bluray player etc. So unfortunately I can't recommend the Series S 1TB here where I live. Money-wise it just doesn't make sense even as an Xbox fan. If you want to save up money, the baseline Series S (512GB) is just better and for only a bit more you get the Series X that packs more of a punch.
In the UK, the Series X is currently on sale at £360, while the Series S carbon black is full price at £300. The £60 difference is a no brainer considering the big jump in graphics and performance. Even at full price the Series X is better value imo.
@@rees3loonly $50 more for series X though. Don't be dooped by the series s refresh. Its overpriced now. They'll probably phase out the white one and drop the price of the new 1tb series S to $300. Either way, the series X is way way way better. Just get that

I got mine for free through some promo, and yet instead of playing the latest and greatest graphical showcase, I've been playing Harves- um, I mean Story of Seasons 😆 Bro if I was rich I would just buy them the rights to the old name myself
What are you talking about? This has got more power than a PS5. Ps5 not needed!! Unless you want sony exclusives for £60/70 each, reality check!! But with this beast, you can play back all your Xbox One and many 360 games and original Xbox games seamlessly. Its win win win period🎉
Great video. But I didnt get your point about buying one if you don’t care about the latest specs and performance? I thought the Xbox series X was still the best performing console out there?
Thanks mate! And by that I meant not waiting to see if there will be a new more powerful version released for the current Gen, whether it be for Playstation or Xbox. Like some kind of "pro" version.
@@TacoTechTalk Understand now. I'm just about to pull the trigger on getting a Xbox Series X. I had been keen on the PS5 wishlist for the last couple of years (when you couldn't buy one). Was then waiting for PSVR2. Now have a Quest 3, so no longer interested in PSVR2. I have PS1, PS3 and PS4. But also, Xbox and Xbox 360 (which I have the most physical titles for). Now both PS5 and Xbox Series X are finally both available in my country (since late last year), I'm finally now drawn instead to the Xbox Series X because of the backward compatibility and Game Pass Ultimate. As Series X hardware still has all the performance you need for the forseable future (and has a physical drive), I'm not really concerned about any possible pending console update rumours.
Follow up: Funilly enough, I was about to pull the trigger on an Xbox Series X, but then I got myself a really great deal on a Samsung 32" 4K Gaming Monitor, and I've been blown away by how well Xbox Cloud gaming is working with the Samsung's built in Xbox App. Not to mention that the Gaming Monitor also has the all same capabilities as my 2023 Samsung TV. So, I've now deferred my Series X purchase while I focus on enjoying Xbox cloud gaming, and instead I've only spent some money on an Xbox controller to dedicate to the Samsung. It would still be nice to have Series X hardware, but now it's hard to justify the expense with the Samsung Xbox Cloud gaming working so well.
Do it!!! Nah just kidding never impulse buy. Do you already have a latest gen console? Have you owned an Xbox 360 or Xbox one before? If you answered no and then yes, then absolutely buy it.
xbox sx and ps5 haven't even dropped in price since its came out 2020, and I don't think consoles in modern times won't drop that a lot in price. ps4 is like 400 bucks today, more expensive than ever. Nintendo switch hasn't been cheaper since its came out in 2017. if u go back in time, the consoles dropped so much in price, I mean 99$ for a Nintendo gamecube in a few years in wasn't bad at all, that's 160 bucks in todays money
Guessing not from the US? I've seen and bought the series x on sale for less than the $500 USD starting price. I've seen the PS5 only a little bit cheaper every now and then or bundled with a game.
Nintendo drop the gamecube to 100 dollars cause it fail in hardware sales to the point where Nintendo had to reduce the price so they can move gamecube hardware meanwhile PS2 were moving like hot cakes off the the shelves.
@@joeyreidelbach5509 yea true, but gamecube did sell great compared to Wii u. Wii u had only 12 mil sales, and Nintendo Wii u never dropped in price , just like Nintendo games
This generation of consoles has been the worst. It hasn’t even taken off and there has been rumors going around saying a next gen Xbox is coming in 2025-2026. So the Series X is pointless to buy. I already have one and no games show what it can do.
Next gen will be pointless as well next gen. Comes out. Consoles will be sold out everywhere no games Scalpers same shit and repeat. Console generations are never going to be good anymore. We will never get a generation like ps2 or Xbox 360 era Again 8 gen ps4 was downfall of gaming
It doesn’t matter about next GEN consoles if the games all suck. And developers are coming up with absolutely nothing new and interesting in my opinion.
😂 the ps5 has its flaws a lot of them. PS5s are for middle schoolers. Besides an Xbox series s or x looks way better on an entertainment center compared to the jumbo PS5. And why would you want to be constraining yourself to a desk top when on Xbox you can play from the comfort of your couch and resume your gameplay on your pc when you want to play competitive.

I own all 3 next gen consoles. PS5 + Series S is the way to do this generation. I'm selling my Series X as the benefit is minimal over Series S, and PS5 is a better system than them both anyway. Xbox have dropped the price because they are getting destroyed this generation too, PS5 is a safer bet to invest in for a gaming ecosystem too.

Xbox series X is best for kids and causal gaming adults who want multi-player shooter games. Also, retro gaming is the best with Xbox Series X. PC gamers are for more serious tournament competitive gamers and professional gamers in multi-player shooter games. PS5 is for casual gamers that love their single player story games. God of War, Spiderman, or Horizon series are the most popular examples. I fall into this category.

Nah man! Series X is an fantastic choice to buy in 2024 especially with all the discounts for the console right now. Play all your old games & enjoy!
About to upgrade to an X from a One S. Expecting a huge upgrade as the Xbox One is dying.
I have an xbox series s right now do you think it's worth switch to an xbox series x I found one for 350 slightly used
350 USD? I'd say no considering they have been on sale for that price new, so I'd try and find it new for that price instead. But coming from a series s, I'm not entirely sure. Guess it depends on what display you're playing on and if you need the Xtra performance, or especially if you want or have physical discs.
Yuppers 👍
I haven’t upgraded
Can it play laying down as well?
Indeed you can, it has little rubber dimples on one side to be able to set it on its side
do games actually play off the external drive?
Yes but only non Xbox series X/s optimized games.
It's still not easy, just take it slow and know that it survives all of its functions? Power, HDMI, Disc, Fan and etc?
What is your television you are using?
LG OLED C2
I love my xbox series x I put it next to my playstation 5 enjoying both worlds.🥂😎
It's the best Xbox ever since the OG. A must have for and True Gamer. Needs to have a TV ready for it though. If you don't. Just get the Series S.
It does not matter if you have a 1080p screen, 1440p, or 4k. I play on a 1080p 120hz monitor and the games looks fantastic either way.
If you get the Series S just because you have a 1080p screen your games will look worse than the Series X cause the S is weak.
@@Cpneger45s aint weak at all my s play on 1440 p looks the same as my ps5 u dont no what your takin about
@@Cpneger45 The Series S ain't no Punk.
@@nenola504 yeah it looks the same in resolution. But it got worse textures, draw distance and frame rate than PS5
@@BombzOnZombz yes it is. Wait 2 years and the S will be weak while X is still holding up
Short answer: yes
Well be waiting minimum a year for the xbox pro to even be announced... and it will probably have some minor upgrades and a crazy price tag...
XBOX X Digital Edition is coming this year
I thumbs up just because you did a smell test by sniffing the box. Enjoy your new Xbox!
Appreciate it mate! I couldn't pass up the opportunity lol.
Series x yes. Series s. Yes but even more!!
Series s carbon on a deal….super YES
@@rees3lo absolutely
Just get that
I also copped me series x from a guy who had a few sealed back in November 2023, I spent 300bucks good ass deal
Which one is better xbox s or x ?
Objectively and Subjectively I would say Series X.
@@TacoTechTalkthanks alot
Do you have a weird fatisch with xbox box
I have a thing for the smell of something new lmao
Sold my series X cause I dont play new series X games, like u just playing my already bought collection, and i really wanted the special edition cyberpunk xbox one x before prices skyrocketed lol, got one for $270 fortunately, this two-3 year wait for microsofts next console will be quick hopefully
How’d you get it for 300?
Best buy was having a limited time drops deal selling it for 330 and I had rewards that I used towards it.
I got mine for free through some promo, and yet instead of playing the latest and greatest graphical showcase, I've been playing Harves- um, I mean Story of Seasons 😆
Bro if I was rich I would just buy them the rights to the old name myself
I never seen someone sniff the box and controller when unboxing 😂
I just had too
What are you talking about? This has got more power than a PS5. Ps5 not needed!! Unless you want sony exclusives for £60/70 each, reality check!! But with this beast, you can play back all your Xbox One and many 360 games and original Xbox games seamlessly. Its win win win period🎉
How many dollars?
What I paid? It came to around $330 after tax
@@TacoTechTalk you did good then, I paid 400$ flat. For series X
Yes!
Playing forza horizon my series x now on my new c3 oled...Definitely worth it
Good system but don’t have no new games smh
I keep thinking about ordering it, but I can’t decide)
Do it!!! Nah just kidding never impulse buy. Do you already have a latest gen console? Have you owned an Xbox 360 or Xbox one before? If you answered no and then yes, then absolutely buy it.
Play my Xbox way more than my ps5 but not as much as my pc or switch.
Yes pretty much the same with me PS5 is dead last, there isn't much games for it most of them are ps4 games.
It cost 553$ in india. More affordable there
the smell test took me out, hold this subscription with the bell icon on max!
To me the PS5 is a lot better with the game library
Where are the PS5 games all it has is PS4 games....?
xbox sx and ps5 haven't even dropped in price since its came out 2020, and I don't think consoles in modern times won't drop that a lot in price. ps4 is like 400 bucks today, more expensive than ever.
I'm from Norway. the ps5 and xbox series x used to be 500 bucks here in 2020 and 2021, now its 670 $ as the standard price@@TacoTechTalk
@@joeyreidelbach5509 yea true, but gamecube did sell great compared to Wii u. Wii u had only 12 mil sales, and Nintendo Wii u never dropped in price , just like Nintendo games
Just sold my ps5, will change to xbox x
Anyone else still with og Xbox one 😔
Na we ain't broke like you
I am for now but will be upgrading to series x just want to know the key differences
Just got a one s
I got the Xbox series x yesturday
Been out 3 years. Xbox series s 2022.
Bro, so you saw that it was a little cheaper and couldn't resist there's still no good games hardly
I have to say in all honesty the only reason I would buy an Xbox is to play party animals, other than that Xbox exclusive games are pretty 💩
My Xbox One S is broken so I have to get a Series X…
That blows bro but at least it's an upgrade
Build a pc use it as your Xbox and have a PlayStation 5 as your console
😂 the ps5 has its flaws a lot of them. PS5s are for middle schoolers. Besides an Xbox series s or x looks way better on an entertainment center compared to the jumbo PS5. And why would you want to be constraining yourself to a desk top when on Xbox you can play from the comfort of your couch and resume your gameplay on your pc when you want to play competitive.
But can you build a PC as powerful for $300?
@@mogdor these days?....i reckon its pos. Granted I haven't tolled it up but..I think I could.
@@pin00ch you’d have to scavenge through satins ass crack to find the deals you want. I’d say itd take over half a year to complete that, if. Your budget would have to account the fact that you receive a Xbox controller as well as the series s. You wouldn’t be able to do it with the series x or series s.
Good combo
Bro ruined the clean look of the new controller with his nose grease 🫥🤧
😂😂
Series x and ps5 350 dollars
Series s 150 dollars. Smh
Gianluigi Donnarumma
i just got the carbon black series s. i had a ps4 slim defiinitely worth it
I would say it isn't worth it just wait for 2026 when the next gen Xbox comes out
Man said wait until 2026. Like it's next month
@@Brock-Lesnar-WWE ha that's a funny comment n it really isn't that long n if u already have a old series X just keep playing that because it's still a great console brother
I like it - controller is shit tho
I own all 3 next gen consoles. PS5 + Series S is the way to do this generation. I'm selling my Series X as the benefit is minimal over Series S, and PS5 is a better system than them both anyway. Xbox have dropped the price because they are getting destroyed this generation too, PS5 is a safer bet to invest in for a gaming ecosystem too.
Call of Duty?
Which one?
@@TacoTechTalkBlack Ops 6
Is the hype there? Havent played the latest cod on a while
@@TacoTechTalk the initial reviews look good considering the last few years of CoD releases have been rubbish .....I’m thinking of getting the X on the strength that this new Black Ops 6 looks like Activision is getting back to basics!
XBox si way betetr console then PS5, Sony just keep making stuff that sia waste of money instead of making new games. This Year Ps5 will lose withotu havign games really, sad to see it but they seem to waste money on thing we do nto ened.
Play Station 5 has already won this generation against Xbox and xbox has admitted it.
Dont judge a product by his cover, the box for the xboxSX looks nice, the box for the PS5 looks cheap, but but....The PS5 is the winner of this generation, take it ore leave it
Winner in terms of what?
dont buy nothing a new system is coming out
I have a ps5 and a xsx. And tbh I hardly use the xsx, the first party games are abysmal. The hardwares good, but the games aren't upto sony and Nintendo standards
I guess you will not play Overdose, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Blade, Outer Worlds 2, Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Hi Fi Rush, Indiana Jones, Stalker 2... hmm if you think about it Diablo, Doom, Ghostwire, Spyro, Crash or whatever will never be on Playstation ever again lol.
@@AutomaticSnake I have played Starfield, its boring as hell. The only games i'm interested in are Stalker 2, and Doom.
@@AutomaticSnake to bad the games you mention will be medicore games and if Elders 6 is gonna take roots from Skyrim then it will be a crude game with its RPG elements water down or taken out and Starfield is one of the most boring games.
@@joeyreidelbach5509 Starfield boring for the soystation players. Enjoy your uglys Aloy and black Spiderman lol.
Imagine buying a new Xbox to play old games 😂 sorry I can’t even imagine
No regrets from me, totally worth it to play my old games that just sat around collecting dust.
Just picked one up for £359. Bargain.
Yeah, I'm considering getting one next week, they're going for £370 where I live. It's the game pass for me
Where did you get that from?
