    A flame bit (looks like a candle or match flame, hence the name) would work wonders for trimming the excess in the back of the light.

    Awesome. Few questions... do your headlights leak at all? Also what are you doing to do with the old high beams? And do you still have the ability to flash the high beams when the lows are off?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark!. I've had these headlights in my car for almost a month now, and through a couple huge rain storms, with no leaks or condensation inside so far. In fact, I had a test headlight that I baked open and sealed back up 4 times and did a temporary retrofit before this vid, and it was in there for a few months with no leaks also. If leaking or condensation is a problem, you can buy butyl rubber to reseal the headlight. I plan on connecting the stock high beams in parallel with the projector high beams with some minor wire modifications. also.. currently, how it is set up, i can only flash the projector high beams, This is a problem when the HID bulb hasn't fully warmed up and is really dim when first turned on (eg. flashing the highs) so that's one reason why I want to reconnect the stock halogen high beams because the bulb requires no time to warm up. thanks for watching!! and hope this helps!

    Love the vid. Very nice retrofit! I have an 02 accord coupe hoping to do the same someday. I noticed you didn't put the shroud on. Was it because you like it better that way or was there some fitment issues that prevented you from doing it?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks for watching!!.. i would love to see pics of your retrofit!!... now for the shrouds..I left them off because it was too much dremeling/cutting/tlc to make it fit.. and the fact that I actually prefer having no shroud as the extra light out the sides help light up the road.. and it does not glare or affect the cutoff (well at least in the 6th gen accord headlights. and the fact that this car is.. well only 14 years old, im happy with just the clean eyes (projectors) it makes it look better!!

      I finally finished my retrofit with a pair of mini h1 bought during the July 4th sale, and oh boy... This thing SHINES!!!! Your vid helped a lot. You were mostly spot on on everything, but I had to do some minor mods to fit the shrouds. These projectors look so much better on our headlights.

      glad my video helped!! I actually just modified my stock wiring and hooked up my stock highbeams to my projectors this weekend. bright as can be... quick and easy if you use the 9005 splitters on trs.. but i just used quick connects on my stock wiring. you don't wanna be driving near me if you forget to turn your highbeams off because you will be blinded lol. are you gonna connect your stock high's? also, do you mind uploading some pics? what i love most about these headlights is the fact that they not only have vertical adjustments, but horizontals too! so you can make your beam pattern wider, but the result will be a dimmer center vision.

    • @thainow1
      @thainow1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HB splitter is a waste of money, a quick splice will do just as good if you want both projector's HB and stock HB that is.
      I, however, will not use the projectors' HB since I've read some horror stories of how they can get stuck at HB for some mysterious reasons; even though those are mostly on older gens mini h1 but still.. maybe in the future but right now stock HB and projectors' LB are good enough for me.
      As for horizontal adjustment, you are right. It's awesome that we have horizontal adjustment on our lights. Newer models do not have them for some mysterious reasons also (Honda just cheap out on them).
      Now, for pictures I will try to upload some and notify you as soon as I find how and where.

      hid's you can get anywhere. But i would choose a brand with good reliability. generic Projectors are the same but I got my projectors from theretrofitsource.com you can find acura lexus really any kind of hid projector on that website. thanks for watching my vid!!

    Is there a way to adjust the rotation of the cutoff without having to open up the headlights?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you didn't epoxy/glue the projector down you can get away from twisting the back of the headlight projector. Sometimes it goes back into its original Orientation but not too big a deal. Cutoff is still sharp.

    When you were putting in the projector in the low beam area, did it seem as if another projector could easily fit into the high beam area?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      all i bought were morimoto mini h1 projectors. they sell them everywhere. very good projectors. got them for half off on theretrofitsource.com closeouts. I had shrouds too but it was too hard to cut. The high beams for the 98-02 accords use 9005, which is smaller than 9006, and i actually tried and you had to modify the highbeam bulb hole to get it to fit. the highbeam on the 03-07 accords seem a bit too small for a projector in general, and if you get a bi-xenon, you wont need a high beam projector because the projector can handle that. just make sure you get a bi-xenon projector instead of a low beam projector.

      @greenbear3221 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CharlietoKind Yes, it is 2004 accord LX and right now I have scatter Hid's, pure ghetto and not cool at all. Many people have it, but it is so blinding, so I know how it feels and would like not to blind people.

    • @greenbear3221
      @greenbear3221 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CharlietoKind This was a great tutorial for the 03-07 accord. One more question, so your morimoto mini h1 projector, the hid bulb is what you put inside and twist locked it right, and then it hooked to your ballast?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      no. the twist lock is so the projector will stay on the housing. no need to glue. that was just more of a preventative thing to make sure the projector doesn't move in its lifetime. the bulb connects with mounting hardware... that should come with the projector. . it just a simple spring clip that holds the hid bulb to the projector. but remember, the projector only fits a certain bulb. usually H1 because of its small size. I have tried looking for 9006/hb4 projectors but nobody makes them.. so if you only have 9006 hid bulbs, you either have to order new bulbs, or jerryrig the bulb into the projector.. good luck!!

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      there really wasn't much wiring in this video. If anything, you should check out/google how to install hid's.. its basically the same thing, but without this projector

  • @greenbear3221
    @greenbear3221 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you make bi xenon work when low and high are separate? I am confused about the wiring. Also how can I add led strip to it and then wire it?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you buy a bi-xenon projector, like the one shown in this video, it will have two wires sticking out of the projector. this is the cutoff, or the bi xenon that makes low and high beam work.. its just a metal plate that cuts off half the light when in low beam, and bends down in high. very simple design. you can connect the two wires to your stock high beam if your car has a separate low and high beam,. some cars use one bulb for a low and high beam, and modification to wiring will need to be done. for the led strip, and assuming you have a honda accord, you can hook it up to the parking light.

    • @greenbear3221
      @greenbear3221 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CharlietoKind Yes I do have a 2004 Honda accord. So I already have a hid 55w kit bulb 9006. Where will this go in this setup? I have seen some halos that this bulb fits in the center then the ballast powers the bulb. Also what size is you bulb like 3" or 4" because I found led halo switchbacks I was thinking to use. Another thing is some HIDs I see have 2 halos. Is there a way to fit two in one headlight?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      are you sure the headlights you are ordering have 9006 bulb sizes? sounds like your buying those cheap ebay halo rings with led headlights. those have horrible projectors and the led and rings burn out very often.. also those usually use the h1 bulb, not 9006

    • @greenbear3221
      @greenbear3221 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      CharlietoKind Well the kit I have right now is slim 55w ballast in stock lights. So you are saying this method does not use those? I am confused how this will all fit together. So the ones I wanted to install are these www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Spectrum-Style-retrofit-projector-shroud-Dual-Halo-switchback-White-Amber-/201105579616?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ed2d39e60&vxp=mtr
      The ones you used I think are these here www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-Mini-H1-Bi-Xenon-HID-Projector-Lens-For-Headlights-Retrofit-Custom-Headlamp-/141337603241?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20e860aca9&vxp=mtr
      So these kind of hid projector have the bulb inside it already? So does this even use a ballast or in this setup the inverter does the work and is not the same as the cheap ebay kit ballasts I have right now?

    • @CharlietoKind
      @CharlietoKind  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      on the bottom of the listing that you want to buy. it says those are the shrouds only.. those do not come with projectors.. I highly recommend you visit theretrofitsource.com and pick from there. Now that i see what you are trying to install, i have no idea how to wire those rings. they may work with the parking lights. but those are only the rings, (shrouds) you need projectors to fit on them.
