@@EBOBalo Yeah, but if you rolled you'd probably do it at an angle (your head or feet, whichever was further from the edge, would roll slightly towards it as you rolled, due to the slope), and if you kept rolling long enough (which seems likely given the draft and almost certain lack of blankets, plus the whole situation making your sleep uneasy) you'd end up parallel to the edge anyway, and getting closer and closer to it...
@@EBOBalo I've " slept" on sloping ledges while on rock climbs. Once you relax into deep sleep every twich and turn slides you toward the edge. It's a little unsettling to wake up with your legs dangling over the edge at the end of your leash.

no, he refused one so he could be lighter and jump around and dodge his sword. Ser Vardis was in full plate with a heavy shield so the trick was to let him hack at you until he gets tired. Then a calculated strike to the thigh. Also, he's kind of a badass. :)

Not sure why but I kinda like the part where-when Ned & Jamie have a showdown outside the brothel-where Jamie kills the other Lannister soldier for interfering/stabbing Ned. He didn’t want to face Ned like that, he wanted to best him fair and square. Jamie’s honor in battle (especially during a one-on-one) really shines in this scene... Not sure that was honour so much as pride and frustration; "Now I'll NEVER know who was better." He defines himself so much by his skill and he knows that's going to bug him forever now.
@@GriffinPilgrim You can see in their fighting technique that Jamie was hardly trying where as Ned was going all out. Jamie had no intention of killing Ned.
@@scorp77snake No, that would have likely got his beloved brother killed. But he was intending to beat him and even if he's pretty sure he'd have won he can't ever be 100% sure now. Not sure I agree on the fight though; I do think Jamie would win, due to Ned being rather past his prime if nothing else, but I think the style has more to do with their methods of fighting. Jamie is more graceful but that doesn't equate to better; sometimes more ugly, brutal assaults like Ned's using can be more effective. See also Bron's victory in the Eriye..

Rewatching the show through your eyes reminds me why I fell in love with it. The quality was so good in the beginning--it is night and day comparison to the last few seasons.
I knew you would love Arya and Dany. They are amazing. I even love Cersei in a way....as you watch her develop (Cersei) one thing to remember: she really does love her kids. And Emilia Clark SLAYS with her facial expressions. Just watch :)
Natalie, the whole idea of Daenarys marrying Khal Drogo was to get the iron throne with the Dothraki, the attack only motivated them more to overcome their fear of crossing the sea on the "Wooden Horses" that travel on water. The idea of the pre-emptive strike was a tactical decision that would have worked without Jorah Mormont interfering.
Yeah but it wasnt really her idea, it was her brothers plan. Dany just wanted to "go home", even though she was only a baby and therefore spent most of her life away from Westeros. she was just being used by her brother. Catelyn brought Tyrion to the Vale because she thought she would have her sister and an entire Kingdom behind her. Like the Starks are the Lords Paramounts of the North, the Arryn's are Lords Paramount of the Vale. Also, the whole reason the Starks started suspecting the Lannisters of **anything** is because Lysa sent a letter to Cat saying they killed her husband, Jon Arryn. So Cat thought she'd have her sister's support in helping her maintain her hostage - Tyrion.
It is definitely worth making individual reaction videos for the ninth and tenth episodes of each season. There is so much great content to make you happy, sad, scared and angry.

**THIS IS NOT A SPOILER, THIS INFO IS (not) ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE BOOKS (LF says it in the episode too) & HAS ZERO IMPACT ON ANY UPCOMING EVENTS ** I'm going to give you a boring insight as to why The Mountain killed his horse. Ok so Ser Loras is known to ride mares in Tourneys, that is to say he rides female horses in jousts. The Mountain famously rides a large stallion and on this occasion Ser Loras rode a mare who was in heat, in order to distract The Mountain's horse. The Mountain was pissed at his horse because a warhorse shouldn't react like that, imagine he'd done that in battle. I admit, beheading his horse IMMEDIATELY in front of everyone was a bit of an overreaction but yeah, I kind of get where he was coming from.

I have quickly fallen in love with your reaction videos, finding that you had the got series up I'm binging this now, your reactions are pure gold. Keep up the great work, incredibly entertaining, thank you.
Quick little aside - in the books, the 'sky cells' (where Tyrion was being kept prisoner) were open to the air, just a platform for a floor... and that platform was slanted downward so that you had to work not to slide down and fall to your death, making sleep almost impossible. That's what his little rolling spell was meant to allude to.
Bronn didn't want a shield weighing him down: his tactic was to run the other guy round the hall until he was exhausted and made a mistake. The reason why Ned told Cersei before King Rob was that at the end of Robert's Rebellion, when Rob took the throne, the former prince's wife and children were murdered by The Mountain, probably on the orders of Tywin Lannister. This never sat well with Ned, so he told Cersei in the expectation that she'd take her children and flee, thereby saving them. Unfortunately, he badly misjudged her... It wasn't made clear in the show, but the reason why The Mountain lost his joust against Ser Loras was that the latter used a mare in heat as his horse, which caused The Mountain's stallion to get distracted and throw him. That's why The Mountain was so angry with his horse that he killed it.
It's so much fun being reminded how got this show started out - and probably still is in the first seasons. But the desire to rewatch it just got slammed when the later seasons did what they did...

Plus, he wasn't just a bad man, but I think a bad king too. He didn't run the kingdom - The Hand, and Lord Tywin did that. The only thing he was actually good at was fighting and killing. I don't think it was the case that Rob's ruthlessness was necessary to hold the kingdom together. Rather, it held because the most powerful lords were either his friends or related to him by marriage and it suited them to support him, and there was no dispute to the succession because the previous dynasty were either dead or exiled. The kingdom fell apart after his death not because it was his genius or ruthlessness holding it together, but because the succession was disputed and several great lords had personal grudges against the new king.

10:44 It was a gummy heart. Apparently it was _horrible_ (and it attracted a lot of flies), and Emilia ended up eating all or most of it (over multiple takes, I assume). The retching wasn't acting.
@10:32 Couldnt you just sleep perpendicular to the edge so that you dont roll towards it?
If I remember rightly in the books it clarifies that people aren’t supposed to roll off so much as it’s supposed to be a kind of torture: to cause anxiety and sleep deprivation.
Reportedly Emilia Clarke was covered in sticky stuff from that scene, so when she tried to go to the bathroom after shooting she stuck to the toilet.

First, can we agree that we all are 100% here for Nat's insightful commentary and genuinely sweet personality? If so, then let it be said that this video's fashion selection midway through (the hat, hair and turtleneck) is stunning. She regularly projects confidence and poise on camera, yet clearly there are "next levels." Yay, Nat!
I really like how you’re combining episode reactions into one video! I’m not a game of thrones fan/ watcher but I’ll watch this! It’s much more digestible rather than a reaction per ep !
I am a big game of thrones fan/ watcher but I like this format too. There's probably a few episodes that I'd like watched fully but for the most part I like this. An episode a week would take so long.
“We can’t make this even and give him a shield” he literally refused one because he’s a better fighter without one, AND he’s a badass
no, he refused one so he could be lighter and jump around and dodge his sword. Ser Vardis was in full plate with a heavy shield so the trick was to let him hack at you until he gets tired. Then a calculated strike to the thigh. Also, he's kind of a badass. :)

Fun fact: when George RR Martin originally wrote Bronn, his only purpose was to be Tyrion’s champion. Then he realized he needed him so Tyrion can travel down the high road and not get killed by the Mountain clans, and Bronn just got a bigger and bigger role

Nathalie: "I really don't want to watch another man get his throat cut open."
Game of Thrones: " Oh sweet child, you might want to reconsider watching me. Here's a horse instead in the meantime."
Jorah Mormont is a surprising character and one of my favorites. Won’t say more... you know spoilers.
The first time (before his changing character arc later) I have mad respect for him :P This is where it starts! Haha
Every episode all I can think is "I know what's coming and Natalie is about to freak TF OUT!" Then you do and I have to laugh because it's awesome. ps> you are rockin that hat.
jamie has honor, when john was stabbed in the back he stopped fighting him and got angry at his man
You mean Eddard (Ned)?
@@GriffinPilgrim The point of the knightly ideals in this franchise is that the "honor" they fight for is empty. That's why the protagonists of the show tend to be stunted or deformed--or women, who therefore have no claim to knightly "honor."
I love revisiting this series with you!
Me too
Yes, you forget just how much impact GoT had when it first showed until you see it fresh again through the eyes of someome seeing ot for the first time.
"Thanks for watching and until the next one, stay golden!" just like Viserys, lmao.
Phrases Natalie never expected Game of Thrones to make her say: "It really bothers me that you didn't shave the other armpit."
Sansa's development is one of my favourite things about the show (even though they handled it like shit at times)
I have to say, massive props to Cameron Marek - the editing is freakin awesome.
These are such fun to watch. Knowing what you're about to see/hear makes watching your reactions hugely entertaining.
Tyrion: I once brought a honeycomb and jackass into a brothel....
Nat: what happens next?
GoT fans: 😔
we'll never know...
The world may never know....
I kind of love how often that joke is set up throughout the series, and that we never actually get to hear the end....only kind of.
Tyrion walks into a brothel with a honeycomb and a jackass.
Madame: What can we do for you?
Tyrion: I need a woman to lay with, for mine has left me.
Madame: Whatever for? And what's with the honeycomb and the mule?
Tyrion: My woman found a genie in a bottle, and he granted her three wishes. The first was for a house fit for a queen, so he gave her this damn honeycomb. The second wish was that she have the nicest ass in all the land, so he gave her this damn donkey...
Madame: And what about the third wish?
Tyrion: Well... she asked the genie to make my cock hang down past my knee.
Madame: Well that one's not so bad eh?
Tyrion: Not so bad!? I used to be six foot three!

Somehow I don't think Dani will see it that way...
@@jeffburnham6611 Your not caught up are you?
You know, I never thought about Khal Drogo saying the opposite of the night’s watch vows until you brought it up. I know that was intentional in the writing but at the time I watched the show I didn’t even notice it.
There are a lot of interesting comparisons to make in GoT.
Ahhhh, when GRRM was still on the writing team...
Yes, I thought that was a brilliant deduction. Having read the books and then watched the series, I still never made that connection. #allhailqueennatalie
Rewatching the show through your eyes reminds me why I fell in love with it. The quality was so good in the beginning--it is night and day comparison to the last few seasons.
It's soooo satisfying to watch someone's reaction to season 1, knowing all that will happen.
I knew you would love Arya and Dany. They are amazing. I even love Cersei in a way....as you watch her develop (Cersei) one thing to remember: she really does love her kids.
And Emilia Clark SLAYS with her facial expressions. Just watch :)
"You love your children. That is your one redeeming virtue. That and your cheekbones." :)
“I’m good on the gore!” Oh my sweet summer child...

@@ChristopherPayneMUA Dude exactly what I first thought of, lol.
Lol, but her brother wasnt even mentioned by King Rob at all. I dont remember when her focus turned to the throne.
@@EBOBalo And Drogo didn't really seem to have much intention to follow through (horses can't cross the poison water, and neither them nor the Dothraki do well on boats) until ol' Bobby B. tried to have his woman (and, more importantly, by extension his unborn heir) killed... at which point he didn't have much choice any more; now he _has_ to do it or he'll look weak and will be overthrown.

OMG! THE ANTICIPATION of knowing you're about to see one of the baddest end scenes I remember! (golden crown) =D
Ambitious men like an under age king, it's their ticket to influence and power. That's why Littlefinger wants to keep Joffrey instead of having a war to get Robert's younger but very adult and experienced brother.
the WHOLE marriage of danaerys with teh khan was to get an army to get the throne xD they wanted it from the first episode ^^ rob was right
Well, it was Dany's brother(i dont remember his name) that was all about getting the throne. Dany just wanted to "go home", even though she was only a baby and therefore spent most of her life away from Westeros. Lol, but her brother wasnt even mentioned by King Rob at all. True but without the assassination attempt it's unclear if Khal Drogo would have ever bothered to follow through.
@@GriffinPilgrim He didn't seem to have much intention of doing so before ol' Bobby B. tried to have his woman and, more importantly, by extension his unborn heir, killed. @@mbpoblet Exactly. If they'd left well enough alone then likely none of the Dany plot would even happened, for good and ill.

Love the new format. Huge series like this it works great for.
So Cat thought she'd have her sister's support in helping her maintain her hostage - Tyrion.
when I say i watch your videos religiously, i am not exaggerating! literally my favourite part of the week, you're such a ray of sunshine!
It is definitely worth making individual reaction videos for the ninth and tenth episodes of each season. There is so much great content to make you happy, sad, scared and angry.
One of my favorite reaction channels started on GoT and then she bailed after a few shows. By condensing multiple shows into a single YT video, you're moving quickly enough to actually accomplish the monumental task you've laid out for yourself. Good on ya. I'm loving this so please keep it up.
I love your channel! I started watching you during the Mandalorian (season one) and you have become one of my favorites! Also, I loved your reaction to The Fifth Element!
This format is really cool. I don't remember what happens in individual episodes, but broad strokes of seasons I remember, and Natalie reacting to bits and pieces works really well for me. Keep it up!
"WTF is she eeeeeeeating!??" lmao that was great.
Also, sweet hat!
I am so so glad you are doing GOT in this condensed format. I don't have the patience or gumption to sit through this series episode by episode with you after it went the way it did but I REALLY enjoy being able to sit and watch like 4 in the same time, cuz your reactions are hilarious.
The actor who plays Daenerys’s brother Verserys does the audiobook readings for the Dunk and Egg prequel series. His voice is amazing. I believe he’s also a relative of Hans Christian Anderson.
These compilations are brilliant! Poor Natalie! I'm still riveted for her reactions though!
I LOVE the hat & turtleneck look!
Didnt think I would like the format of many episodes, but it's actually way better as long as you show most of the key moments / reactions. Great job... can't wait for more.
I’ve actually enjoyed these more than the single episode reactions 👍
The horse's heart prop, the one that Danaerys had to eat, was basically a giant heart-shaped gummi bear covered in red-colored karo syrup.
"he's going to pour molten gold on his head like a crown?"
Told you on the last video, he was a 'hot head' 😁
I love these "condensed" reactions to the seasons. Will definitely be watching with you.
After watching 8 seasons of this show, I'm starting to suspect that Cersei and Jamie may have had a thing for each other.
Y'know, you might be right...also it's subtle but I get this odd feeling that winter might be coming.

I'm going to give you a boring insight as to why The Mountain killed his horse.
You know Littlefinger literally spells this out to Sansa for the viewing audience right?

that hat with that hair and that turtleneck is a bonified LOOK, hell yeah
Quick little aside - in the books, the 'sky cells' (where Tyrion was being kept prisoner) were open to the air, just a platform for a floor... and that platform was slanted downward so that you had to work not to slide down and fall to your death, making sleep almost impossible. That's what his little rolling spell was meant to allude to.
House Stark is definitely the Lawful Good family of the show. Eddard is too honest to play the game of kings and queens.
"Honest" may not be the right word to attribute to him. Because of... well, you know. "Honorable" may be the better one to use.
Emelia Clark struggled through the heart scene as much as Dani did.
It's so much fun being reminded how got this show started out - and probably still is in the first seasons. But the desire to rewatch it just got slammed when the later seasons did what they did...
I don't think that you liked our man Bobby B as some of us but I'll always love that man. Truly a great character with flaws that made him really sympathetic to me!
The first time I watched thus season, I thought he was a mostly decent man with some major flaws. But after rewatching, I concluded that he's a really just a thug and a bully, who sometimes seems better than that when he's in a good mood.
@@iapetusmccool I would like to hear why you call him these things but before you tell me the people that he was "a thug and a bully" towards do think what these people became without him keeping them in line.
@@Zeliek it's a while since I watched or read it, so some of the details are a bit hazy, but if u remember right:
* threatening servants for minor failings
* threatening Ned when he question his decisions
* beating his wife
* emotionally abusing her too
* generally lashing out at anyone who displeased him
I expect that a lot of Joffrey's worst habits and traits were learned directly from Robert.
@@iapetusmccool GOD DAMN IT!
