We don't need any statistical analyses to tell us that average phone prices are rising again this year, as the trend is unfolding before our very own unbelieving eyes. Budget smartphones have started going up the price ladder with hikes, stocks are usually low and after-sales support is struggling to be able to keep up. There are multiple reasons why the market has turned around over the last few months. Of course, the Covid-19 pandemic had a huge hand in pressurising the budget smartphone space which already runs at pretty thin margins. It had a ripple effect on others in the supply chain and things got worse with time. Chinese phone companies, previously associated with value-for-money propositions only, are now offering more value for more money, and encroaching on the Apple or Samsung turf when it comes to pricing, too. So, in today's video, we'll talk about all the possible reasons for increasing the average phone prices and why value for money is now more value more money.

Redmi note 7 pro at around just 12k with latest mid range processor & first ever 48mp sony's sensor camera.
Poco F1's (with 800 series chipset) price once slashed down to as low as 15k.
Redmi K20 pro- a sensation, an all rounder flagship killer of that time.
Underdisplay fingerprint scanner became so common, vivo & realme were providing them even in 14-16k price range phones.
I bought Poco F1 6GB (RAM) 128GB (IS) at 16k in Big Billion Day sale in 2019.
SD 845 chipset.
Still using it.

Shortage khatam bhi ho jaaye, par companies woh hiked price ko kam karne ke bajaye apni profits badhaa deti hain.. for example recently jo samsung ne kiya.. A52 aur A72 mein charger aata tha fast waala.. par A53 aur A73 mein 99% same chipset, puri same battery, camera, aur pura same display dete huve bhi price same hi nahi rakha, balki increase kar diya..

It actually went reverse slightly in this case. Indisplay fingerprint scanner became so common once, sometime during 2019 oppo, vivo & realme were providing them even at 14-16k. Now the side mounted scanner have dominated mid/upper-mid range & even budget flagship category. And indisplay on mid range often comes with cost cutting on other areas.
Still remember 2019 was the beat year of smartphones!! Best phones were available under 15k...and now a days similar specs mobile are selling under 22k !!
Even u could have got the flagship processor for 28k in OP 7. The golden era for OnePlus

I was just thinking about the same 5g problem, we don't have 5g structures setup nor we need any we are good with 4g, yet the manufacturers are forcing 5g on us and thereby increasing atleast 5k on mobile costs and we have to suffer the consequences

off the topic question: why we are getting same camera setup in every phone now, i mean 2 cameras vertically and third small one little right of them between? like they are copying each other (realme 9 series, redmi k50i, oneplus Nord ce 2 lite 5g, oppo f21, mi 11 lite etc

Yup I have purchased redmi note 7 at 2019 (golden era) at that price gorilla glass 5 both at back and front , waterdrop notch , Snapdragon 660 at that price , type c now you would rarely see a glass back in phones between 12-15k
I bought Redmi Note 8 (4/64) in Nov 2019 at Rs 9999. Snapdraggon 665, quad camera, glass at back, gorilla glass 5 at both sides.
A really great time back then. Now u can't get all of this at 10k.
