Gouache is almost exactly like watercolor in the pigment, but it's less refined so that its more opaque. To activate it, you need to add just a LITTLE bit of water. The consistency should be of like melted ice cream. If the gouache is coming down like dry brush add more water, if there's weird texture, less water more paint.

Hello! I just wanted to comment and say that you are the only one that has added to my art life when buying something. I have watched many videos of people buying art supplied from Wish and Aliexpress, but no one has yet to mention (from what I have seen so far) the amount of detail that you have. The handmade brushes you appreciated and showed that they were handmade. The water paper being thinner, but not only saying it, but comparing many supplies with others, yes, but then updating the paper that was shipped later in your comment. Thank you for a wonderful and informative video.
😊Please sub to my channel I do art and I only have 630 subs. Plz help me to 700.😊I drew BTS and all different kinds of celeberties and movie characters.
Hi Rae! Gouache work best as a creamy consistency. You use water to achieve that. Yes you can use water to make a "watercolor" with it, but you will get thiner color like you did ^^. The way I see gouache is the in between of watercolor and acrylic. You can get opaque results like acrylics and you can reactivate it with water like watercolor. Have fun ^^
Its not hate, i love you soooo muchhh and you make me sooo happy!!! But The guache(or however its written) part had me going crazy cause its not supposed to be used like that, i think... when i used to paint with them it looked good🤷🏻♀️ idk but the watercolor one was FABULOUS😍😍
Rae, you put too much water and not enough paint.... That's why you got that texture and low opacity from the colors Update: just saw your update Rae, yeah......
"This looks hand painted and hand crimped." Yes, as tempting as it is to buy this stuff because of the price, it's slave labor supplies for sure. Still beautiful art. You are incredibly talented.
The mechanical pencil looks a hell lot like the "TK- Minenstifte" (sorry for the German only description I just don't know the English term) we were asked to use for technical drawings (I study architecture in Germany). In fact those mines come pre-sharpened, too and in many different grades from real soft and easy to smudge (probably what you might use) to the harder ones (2H and up) that we used for drawing. (My favourites are F grade ones, though, they are pretty smooth and soft and still don't smudge) The markers/fineliners look like Stadtler's and those, too, come in real thin, because when doing tech drawings you usually need real thin lines, too and be strict about the line thickness, because those are usually tied to certain things in those drawings (if that even makes any sense, I just got no better idea how to describe that🤦🏼♀️)
After binge watching your videos I'm starting to think the only reason you were covered in paint was because you're so clumsy 🤣🤣🤣I love it .... Love your work
7:47 I actually have those fineliners and they work perfectly fine for me, I could throw a bucket on then and they are perfectly fine, I don't why they didn't work that good with you (but I could see the paper was also "dissolving" with the brush and water)
@@rileea9582 I have them also. I got them off amazon www.amazon.com/Precision-Black-Micro-Liner-Fineliner-Pens/dp/B07QQJH4V1/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=sta+pigment+liner+pens&qid=1579218167&sprefix=sta+oigm&sr=8-4
difference between the two paints is that gouache is more opaque than watercolor. When a layer of watercolor is applied, the white paper and any preliminary drawings underneath will show through, whereas when a layer of gouache is applied, the paper will not show through nearly as much.

its the xenophobia for me
June Russell it’s not. It’s just a fact that sweatshops are extremely common in China because of their loose laws and regulations around manufacturing.

9:49 they were hand clamped and painted by those poor children in China
Edit: This comment is a joke. I never realized that it would get so political, and no offense to any one who lives in that area. However, in certain areas in China/Asia/Indonesia there are places where children are forced to work for very little money. Whether you live in Asia or not, you have to deal with this political problem. Please don’t give any hate because I realized that maybe this isn’t the best thing to joke about. -thank you-
Who were getting paid very little or nothing
I am very sure that it is illegal to hire children to do work in China, I am Chinese be the way, kinda offended
I don’t mean that in an offense way. There is just a lot of children in Asia who are payed very little, yet work very hard and it is a very political problem we face. Even Rae mentions that someone made it for very little money.
@@chloelee6237 I'm not Chinese, I'm Vietnamese but still, it is slightly rude how you just make an assumption that it was made by children from Asia or China. Sorry if I'm overreacting.
Yeah that comment kind of bothered me. Instead of being bothered by the conclusion she came to that her purchase was supporting exploited labor she was Impressed with the quality product she received even considering that. It was pretty gross tbh.

Hi Rae!You are the best! You really inspire me to draw!I recently tried to draw a spider from the video 'Drawing with only school supplies'.It turned out more than amazing! Thanks!

I love your videos! ❤ I have been watching you for almost 2 years, and I just love you and your personality! Keep doing you Rae!!

@SuperRaeDizzle you should make a collaboration with ZHC you two are my favorite TH-cam artists😍 and I think you two can make a beautiful art🤩✍

Have fun ^^
Rae: it kinda looks like a mix of watercolor and uhh...
Me: expecting an answer
Rae: ohhhh
Its not hate, i love you soooo muchhh and you make me sooo happy!!!
But The guache(or however its written) part had me going crazy cause its not supposed to be used like that, i think... when i used to paint with them it looked good🤷🏻♀️ idk but the watercolor one was FABULOUS😍😍

"This looks hand painted and hand crimped."
Yes, as tempting as it is to buy this stuff because of the price, it's slave labor supplies for sure.
(My favourites are F grade ones, though, they are pretty smooth and soft and still don't smudge) The markers/fineliners look like Stadtler's and those, too, come in real thin, because when doing tech drawings you usually need real thin lines, too and be strict about the line thickness, because those are usually tied to certain things in those drawings (if that even makes any sense, I just got no better idea how to describe that🤦🏼♀️)
Darn that is so long
Thanks for the explanation, that makes a lot of sense. Very cool!

7:47 I actually have those fineliners and they work perfectly fine for me, I could throw a bucket on then and they are perfectly fine, I don't why they didn't work that good with you (but I could see the paper was also "dissolving" with the brush and water)
JeffCsm could you possibly link where you purchased them from please?

difference between the two paints is that gouache is more opaque than watercolor. When a layer of watercolor is applied, the white paper and any preliminary drawings underneath will show through, whereas when a layer of gouache is applied, the paper will not show through nearly as much.
If you’d like to know the liners are 3.70
