    Was thinking about buying it because at less then $200 not bad but been told I can’t with my air compressor since I have a 29G air compressor 2hp 7.5cfm at 40psi

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi buddy, it would depend on what or, more importantly, how much you were doing at one time.
      This is rated by the manufacturer at 7.7 cfm at 29psi, one panel at a time you would get away with, much more than that you would need more air

    Hi Pete, I am confused by the different Anest Iwata W-400 series guns. There is the W-400, the W-400 Bellaria, the WS-400, and the Anest Iwata Kiwami4. Here in the States, I see the W-400 (IWATA W400-132G, not called Bellaria) for around $440, which sounds like a great gun for a good price. I am now looking at the Kiwami4 and it is only $185! Can you tell me why the Kiwami4 is so much less expensive? Is there a quality or performance difference between the W-400 and the Kiwami4? Which of these guns do you prefer. I paint motorcycles. I have been using an LPH50-1.0 and a DeVilbiss ProLite-S 1.0. I need a full-size gun with a 1.3 I enjoy your videos! Thanks!

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bruce, the Kiwami4 series is as good quality wise as the W400. In Asia, it has replaced it and probably will everywhere in time.
      The W400 Bellaria is the same as the Kiwami4 BA4J version apart from styling, the W400 132G you mention is the same as the Wider4 J2.
      I am about to put a video out of the K4 v W4 so people can get an idea of the difference, in the description of the new video will be a link to another video which I've already done that explains the series more, I think it will help

    Hello Pete great video showing a 3 stage pearl, I did a similar job on a Subaru WRX STI wing for my daughter, paint code 37J I think off memory, and that Kawami 4 is an excellent all round gun , almost the perfect choice for the guy that just wants one gun to do it all .
    You got a very nice result there , great stuff mate

      Thanks Roger, It came out really nice but it just didn't come across, to the naked eye you could see all pearl in the sun but it didn't come over on camera.
      Yes, the Kiwami4 in this version is really good vfm and a great all round gun, it's something I always try and remember that people just don't always want/need/afford lots of guns for different things, cheers buddy, hope alls well 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Timmy, you could use it for smart repairs but you would need to restrict the flow and fan for smaller areas which isn't ideal, it would certainly be a compromise, depends what you would be doing most off, if it's all smart repairs you would be better off with a minigun

    Hey Pete, there is a lot of work that goes into a three stage paint job, I think you know that I'm not keen on silver cars (even though I've got one 😁🤦‍♂️) but I like white even less, saying that though the process is the same so no matter what the colour I found it very interesting mate, I've only done one 3 stage which was the 46V Soul Red so I must try to do more. Anyway Pete that gun does lay the paint very nicely and looks like you get a smooth finish on the base, nice job as always mate 👌👍
    Just finished the second A4 wing this morning but it didn't turn out to good, all was well until the clearcoat which for some reason solvent popped everywhere, it was fine when I finished painting but after I cleaned my gun out and came back for a look it was covered in small bubble like spots, I hope to do a vid outside later and post it up so you can have a laugh 😂😲😭

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, yes, a fair bit of work and of course the more you have to do the more chances something goes wrong🤪.
      Unless the solvent pop is bad you may not notice it much on camera if it's outside as there's so much reflection so don't think anyone will be laughing mate, well, only with you not at you.
      It's quite surprising you got problems though as your used to your setup and presumably you were using a clear your used to. I used to get it many a time as it's really easy to do with the Upol clear 😂😂, it something you notice over the better quality clears which can take a fair bit more without going into pinholes.
      Your probably the same as me in you get quite annoyed when something goes like that and there seems no reason, cheers buddy 👍

      Yeah it really gets to me when things don't come out like they should do but this was purely user error as you have seen on my IG page, when I posted here I didn't realise what I did until I checked which bottle of thinners I got out to use this morning even though it's labelled I still got it wrong, it's an age thing you know 😂
      I do intend to do some more 3 stage work but I want to get used to my new wings first, cheers mate 🙏👍

    i bought my gun from the same place. It seems to spray my clear amazingly but I can't seem to get a good spray pattern when using basecoat and I can't figure out why. My gun is has a 1.3mm tip. Troubleshooting would point to a dirty nozzle but I feel that I've cleaned it just fine and it did this out of the box. At first the pattern was split, heavy on top and heavy on bottom. Then after messing with air pressure on my second try, I was getting heavy on the bottom. My only guess is that the paint is too thin and I needed to lower the pressure even more. 24PSI seemed to work with clear but I couldn't get it right with base coat. I had to switch back to my old gun and then spray clear with the new gun. Which actually worked out because this Kiwami4 uses a lot of material and I ran out of base before I would've liked to.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi buddy, these do use a lot of material as they really throw it out for a 1.3 tip, it sounds like, as you say, the base coat is too thin, it definitely a better clear gun than base but the pattern is still good with base if the viscosity is correct

    Pete, have you tried out the new 3M Performance Spray Gun. It's pretty amazing and extraordinarily versatile in that you can use it with any tip size from 1.2 to 2.0. Cleans in a jiffy and sprays pretty good. It’s a game changer to me and for a guy that’s changing paints as frequently as you it might be ideal.
