That was marvelous! I'm amazed, I swear! Right now I'm in russia studying in a russian language course for the last 3 weeks (5 hours a day), but this was the first time I'm really confident and motivated that I WILL LEARN this beautiful language. I hope you could develop a software with the types of exercises that you are proprosing. I would shout to everyone in my dorm about the new tool on the market. Keep going!
I'm an English instructor and you've presented this lesson perfectly!!! You're a really great teacher, absolutely fantastic! :) You make it fun and non-stressful (despite that speaking quickly is certainly a stressful thing) Anyway, thanks!
I've been looking for a video in this exact style! There were some parts where it felt like you were actually reacting to my tries at pronunciation. Very eerie but very enjoyable. 😁
Its funny as I do speak russian, I feel that i only speak a little, but Russians are always impressed. But I hate that I cannot read and understand fluently. This lesson did help immensely. It was great as I really feel that one needs to be able to SEE and HEAR the words and vise versa for COMPLETE understanding. Just fantastic and also the Pimsseluer method of reading last to first helps to develop an ear for each word. Just excellent excellent. Spasibo!
FANTASTIC LESSON AND ADVICE YOU GAVE US ! YOUR LESSON IS LIKE HAVING YOU IN FRONT OF US. i HAVE BEEN STUDYING RUSSIAN BY MY OWN AND IT NEVER OCURRED TO ME TO READ FAST . THANKS A LOT !!!
Frustrating at first for a 79 year old Englishman, but truly the best of teachers because you don't let up. You expect a lot, therefore you achieve more. Thank you.
I tell you what, this dude seems kind of dorky, but to be a Russian native and to understand this confusing English language he has put a lifetime of effort into this level of vocabulary. this is good teacher for explaining the details. ' )
Your advice is so good and effective ! I am repeating the paragraph and my speed has improved greatly without affecting the pronunciation thanks to you !!!
yu have great approach, am sure it will help me. i was able to speak russian in just few minutes when i watched this video. it makes one feel great speaking russian. thanks alot. please upload more. thank you.
I love your channel. This lesson combined with your Story Telling lesson will have even better results. Building the story word by word will force lots of repetition and learning new vocabulary at the same time. For instance: This is called "circling" - Here's the Pattern: *When starting out, DON't start with the whole statement. Sart with the simple subject and simple predicate. Add the direct object...etc Start with a simple statement. Then, ask questions about the statement 1. "Yes" question 2. "No" question 3. "Either/or" question 4. Interogative question, "Who, What, When, Why, Where" Here's how it looks: Learn "GIRL": Девочка / Mальчик 1. Girl! Is it a GIRL?" -Yes it's a girl. 2. Boy! - Is it a BOY? -No, It's a girl. 3. Is it a GIRL or is it a BOY? -It's a girl, It's not a boy. 4. WHO is this? -It's a girl. Learn the word "ONE" Одна девочка / Tри девочки 1. ONE girl *Is there ONE girl? -Yes, there's one girl. 2. Three - Are there THREE girls? -No there is one girl. 3. Is there ONE girl or are there THREE girls? -There is one girl. There are not three girls. 4. HOW MANY girls? -One girl. Learn "WENT/(Left)": ушла / ела 1. One girl WENT. One girl WENT? -Yes, One girl went. 2. One girl ATE? -No, one girl went. 3. One girl WENT? or One girl ATE? -One girl went. One girl didn't eat." 4. What did the girl do? -The girl went. Learn "TO THE WOODS / "Into the woods" в лес / в ресторан (Use a cognate) 1. One girl went INTO THE WOODS. One girl went INTO THE WOODS? -Yes, One girl went into the woods. 2. One girl went INTO THE RESTAURANT? -No, One girl went into the woods. One girl didn't go into the restaurant. 3. One girl went INTO THE WOODS or One girl went INTO THE RESTAURANT? -One girl went into the woods. One girl didn't go into the restaurant. 4. WHERE did the girl go? -One girl went into the woods. Learn "From home" из дома / из ресторана 1. One girl went into the woods FROM HOME. One girl went into the woods FROM HOME? -Yes, one girl went into the woods from home. 2. One girl went into the woods FROM THE RESTAURANT? -No, one girl went into the woods from home. 3. Did one girl go into the woods FROM HOME? Or did one girl go into the woods FROM THE RESTAURANT? -One girl went into the woods from home. One girl didn't go into the woods from the restaurant. 4. FROM WHERE did the girl go into the woods? -The girl went into the woods from home.
I have a lot of Russian heritage in my family and I would love to speak Russian fluently to honor my heritage and I just love how Russian sounds such a beautiful language!
Hello! Thanks a lot for the positive comment. For now I can offer only one video course www.udemy.com/learn-russian-program-for-fluency/?couponCode=BOOKREADER The course is about 4 hours and it includes 30 lessons (10 Repetition lessons as well). Hope it will help with your Russian studies:) Good luck!
Thanks for the vid . I found interesting the part where you were hinting at the relation in between the speed we can speak and the speed we can catch and process somebody else speech..
I am confused, because at 8:35 you get us to say 'к домику в лесу' but at 13:57 you change it to 'в лесу к домику'. This is not repetition, so it gets confusing. After learning it the first way at 8:35 by repetition I now find it hard to say it the second way at 13:57. Why the different ways when we are suppose to learn by repetition? It is too confusing.
+BallaratDragon Both variations are almost the same. As for me it's just a small mistake. I have just rewrote this text for you with the same words, same meaning (except maybe slightly different narrative style), but different word order: "Ушла одна девочка в лес из дома. Заблудилась она в лесу и искать домой дорогу стала ... но не нашла, а к домику в лесу пришла. Открыта была дверь. Три медведя жили в домике этом." By the way, I'm a native russian speaker.

Hi, where can i find some grammar guides on russian? I haven't found anywhere yet, so if you have any information. Also, i haven't accessed your website yet so if it's there I ask you to tell me. Thanks for the attention, Andrey
Andrey Paes Hello Andrey, nice to see you here :) At the moment I am not working on guides specifically, I'm working more on various approaches to learning Russian that will help others acquire necessary knowledge. If you visit my blog - www.learningtoknowrussian.com - you will see articles dwelling on understanding the language itself and trying to dig into Russian culture as well. I do dwell on Russian language problems, common mistakes made by Russian learners and how to avoid them. Check it out and let me know whether it was helpful for you specifically :) Good luck!
Oh, a quick question: how in hell can I find the image of this funny dancing bear presenting your channel? And the name of the music too. Very well chosen! ;)
it would help if maybe you put in another color the words when you are pronouncing them, because when we're not so familiar with the russian alphabet yet, it's not always easy to follow which words you're saying
It would be best to go and learn and learn the alphabet first. It really is not difficult. If you put up a different color than you would not be learning sight words. Seriously, spend like three days on the alphabet and then come back and do this lesson and you will be amazed at your level of understanding!
ive been trying to learn russian for so long i learned the alphabet first and how to say sertain letters and i still have problems with a few but i cant even read the paragraph in 17 seconds i feel like im never gonna be able to ever speak it fully
Keep trying please! I love the Russian language and YES it can be challenging but it is so fulfilling (at least to me). It will not happen overnight and takes lots of practice. I am around native speakers and am still feeling like I know nothing BUT one time a saw a Russian film and found that I understood sooo much that I was shocked. These lesson in particular are so good. Keep at it! You are probably being too hard on yourself and are much better than you even think!
There are many rules yes. But most Russians I have met as so excited for someone that even tries so don't be disheartened. You're getting caught up in grammar and sometimes just watching the Russian news and movies can help you with that.
Hannah WC yeah i feel like all i can say is the alphabet and basic stuff but theres thousands of words i need to remember and i just dont know how thats gonna be possible since im learning by my self
That was marvelous! I'm amazed, I swear! Right now I'm in russia studying in a russian language course for the last 3 weeks (5 hours a day), but this was the first time I'm really confident and motivated that I WILL LEARN this beautiful language.
