    This looks sooooo good! I think the colour scheme is great and the extra bits of rubble and vines really sets it apart. Keep up the awesome content man!

    Amazing work, love seeing all the simple but effective techniques you show. One of my favourite channels, always learn something new and just love the approach you take to this hobby. Some of the channels make content for contents sake, where I feel you make what you want and we are simply here for the journey. Keep it up mate

    Nice one mate! The dry aesthetic is great! there are plenty of other ruined locations in middle earth located in more damp forested areas anyway.
    Those rolled out flagstones and dried vines came out very nice, as did the detail on the bluestuff moulds. Might have to try some of those techniques.
    Cheers, Looking forward to your next vid!

    Hi mate. My box set of ruins turn up today so perfect timing. I think your being too hard on yourself the terrain looks brilliant. I’m going to do something similar and am even going to include one of my remaining trees without foliage with it to add to the theme I’m going for. Keep it up

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes

    the plaster of paris you use here seems much strong than some I have used and and stillv ery light. Any particular types you recomend?

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes
      @dicedrinksanddadjokes  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nothing special, I just used cheap casting plaster. Comes down to how you make it. More air bubbles means its lighter but also much more fragile.

    • @TheAlmightyPillock
      @TheAlmightyPillock 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dicedrinksanddadjokes Ended up doing lots of research and fidning the differnce btween plaster of paris and casting power, and some other variations. Thank you for getting back to me.

  • @ikkiiiieee
    @ikkiiiieee ปีที่แล้ว

    You could add PVA glue to the plaster mix to improve strength

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes
      @dicedrinksanddadjokes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for that, I’ve tried using PVA but then paint doesn’t absorb into the plaster as well so the leopard spot painting technique doesn’t work so well.

    Man these are just incredible and coudlnt have came at a better time, I literally just ordered 2 sets. Cannot belive the prices NZ is charged omg. Was the boiling water comment a dig at me or am I being paranoid? xD. Could also be a ruined Gondorian settlement in Harad when Horondor was part of the empire.

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes
      @dicedrinksanddadjokes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Johnny! Lol yeah maybe a cheeky reference to your boiling water mishaps 😂 I did actually think that too, about Harad I mean. Question is whether I stick to the same scheme for an Osgiliath board and maybe add more greens and moss etc as the building get closer to the Anduin. Or go for the more traditional colder stone look 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@dicedrinksanddadjokes Ooo thats a hard call. Are you buying more or just casting them with the blue stuff? I might try do that but I would need to invest in a lot more blue stuff. P.S Im gna be that guy then - hot water doesn't burn, it scalds xP

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes

  • @aidanhart9871

    What is your preferred method for making washes? What exactly is the lipid spot technique? What are you using for matte sealant spray? I add PVA glue to my powdered Fix-It-All plaster mix to improve the strength. Quite a few new-to-me techniques here. Did the Battle for Osgiliath occur during winter?

    • @dicedrinksanddadjokes
      @dicedrinksanddadjokes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that’s lots of questions! 😅 Ok so for the washes I just mix some cheap acrylic paint with lots of water, though inks are better if you have them. I think I cover leopard spot technique in more detail in my how to make a forest board video, essentially you dab different colours on as spots. I have a video for the sealant spray too 😆
