Guys - I just heard from Lance this morning, the day after posting the video. He is overwhelmed with emails at the moment. I only mention this as it is taking him time to work through them and talk to people on a first come, first served basis. Please be patient with him - he will get back to everyone, but it is turning out to be a slow process to do this fairly.
I did find out that both G&E shapers have sold already - that was 2 days ago.
I'd enjoy a follow-up in a couple of months about what sold, what got stuck, what generated excitement, and that sort of thing... this feels like the start of a journey!
Lance--I appreciate your passion for these old machines and support your desire to keep them out of the scrap heap!
Thank you for saving these machines from being scrapped. They are a ‘living’ part of history and deserve to be cared for. I hope you will be able to find a good home for them so they can remain in working order for another 50 years (or more).

Do not have space for any of those machines. do not have the money for any of those machines, do not have the skills for MOST of those machines , but I am fascinated to see them. Thank you very much for showing them.
Get that small planer and restore it Keith, would be so cool to see on TH-cam.
I remember well running a good share of those type machines. KT Mills, B&S o.d. grinders, K.O.LEE Cutter grinders-- blast from the past. Nice equipment! I'm glad to see it being cared for and passed on!

My thought exactly, I'm in Atlantic Canada and I've been looking for a tool and cutter or surface grinder for like 7 years. I think I've come across like 3 machines, they were either missing parts or way to far gone and they were asking way too much. At some point I need to go on a road trip to the US with a heavy duty trailer to bring back some machines. Freight cost are gone crazy right now.
Many of us get involved in projects of one type or another and eventually realize that we have more to do than time to do it and have to divest ourselves of them. Many end up dying with many uncompleted projects.
Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed, those are big boy machines way too big for my hobby machine shop. Hope somebody buys them and not a scrap dealer.

That is an excellent collection. I loved seeing all of the vintage machines and the watch guy in me loved the cameo shots of the Coke GMT Master II. Beautiful!

I grew up in Ocala working the horse industry in the 70's - 90's.
Been to that area,lot of sink holes,that stuff is fun to look at .wish I was near you.
I fully expected to see that small planer follow you home.

I absolutely want to set up my own machine shop in the back yard, but I don't even have the garage built yet, and all of the "all reasonable offers will be considered", but I have no idea what's a reasonable offer for this kind of old iron. I absolutely want to preserve and rehab this kind of old iron, I just have no where to do it right now.
Heaven in Florida, CHRISTMAS is coming up need to talk to ol'lady claus... great video Keith, keep'um coming....

Damn! I could be Abom 32 junior with all the stuff Lance is going to sell. Think of the TH-cam content just in the transfer, restoration and setup of all this 'old school' iron.
( In my fantasy world of You Tube, I hire Abom79, Stefan, Keith, Lance, Mr Pete, BlondiHacks, IC Weld, etc. and CEE Curtis from DownUnder to show up for a week at my Texas Ranch and have a giant teach-in hands on boutique Barb-b-que/ Firearm demo. Hell, let's invite Eric the Texas Barndominium/ Hickok45, and Ian 'The Gun Jesus' to bring some giggle switch fun toys to play with. The more the merrier.)

You don't need to weight the Peter W anvil it will be marked on the side but you have to decipher it.
I can honestly say If I had the room I would buy everything your selling . I love the old machines and would love to give them a home but sadly I don't have the massive barn I used to have any more.
What wonderful tales those could tell.

Any one that saves this(equipment) had the means time money is so appreciated by those that later on can afford it and need one these awesome pieces of machinery. Thank for showing the awesome stuff. sure those that are need will listen. amazing so much stuff is discarded that built this country's, but the ones that sold out this great manufacturing country are mostly gone dead, we the currant generations are filing there greed to get rich, let us pick up pieces. But on same not American people need to realize you don't need 35/45/65 dollars out to do skill labor job just some great pride reasonable pay for what your doing. especially not 21.00 hr to flip burgers get order wrong at drive thru...pfft.
Hopefully all that stuff finds good new homes!! A pitty that planer was not about 4 times the size or I might need to expand my shop!
Damn, wish I had a shop... I'd have the big Monarch 16, the G&E with the universal table, maybe the K&T too but shipping that lot to the UK where I am..... Yikes!!

I live in SoCal and often purchase machines and tools from the Northeast coast and Florida is no different. It's not as bad as you think depending on the weight of course and the price of the equipment. You can do it Larry....Fill that shop up....

I'd take most of this, but I have zero way to transport it from FL, and zero place to store even the small items...this needed to be 5 years from now when my shop should be started....as always, a day late, dollar short.

Downside of living in Norway - most of these type old machines land in scrap without other having chance to get them... for 80% of Norwegian culture there is only 2 ways - or it gonna stay til its gonna be not worth to restore or it gonna be scrapped ...

Vintage Machine Rescue. Wonder how some of the machines wound up in barns. Noted the animal hospital shirt - suspect Lance also works with a (dog) rescue.

When selling anything, you should sell to the first person who comes up with the money. Holding things often kills many potential sales if the party you're holding it for decides they don't want it.
Kieth is going to buy the 1800s planer I'm betting. Any takers?

@@bigtrev8xl a circular ring of metal. A hoop. In practice, the hoop is placed onto the cone when hot. Then the hoop is hammered towards the larger end of the cone, enlarging the inner diameter. Hopefully that is a clearer description of sizing hoops.

Properly preserved, most of those machines could be recommissioned and making parts a century from now. Try to get 2000-era CNC mill running in the year 2120! No compatible circuit boards, no compatible CAD-CAM programming. Good luck.
I could see converting shapers and that Monarch lathe to run off an overhead belt and a waterwheel after the apocalypse…
With a little electronics know how, you could probably keep a Fadal running 100 years from now. Those things are so simple.
Maybe you or others couldn't, but that doesn't mean it can't/won't be done. I converted a tape driven CNC to modern computer controlled. I don't really see it as a hard thing. In 2120, motors will still have controllers and there will still be interfaces to machines.
CNC stuff isn't actually that hard to retrofit to a newer electronics. It's far less work than scraping a machine back into spec and requires no specialized knowledge more difficult to learn than scraping. CNC machines do tend to work much harder lives than say a job shop manual machine, so they tend to be very worn out when you can buy them cheap.
No need for a Monarch lathe after the apocalypse. Just sharpen the points on your trusty hay fork, then start stabbing, and eating people...
Why would I care about 2120 in the 1st place? If I make it another 20 years that puts me in my 80s I will most likely still be to old to run all the equipment I already have. In fact, with this jackal in charge today, we may not be able to run any equipment here in the USA in the next couple years that isn't powered with batteries. Hell, maybe it's time to sell everything while there is still diesel and gasoline around for a vehicle to pull it out of here....
