Heh, yeah
Honestly, I kinda liked the humans in Wall-E. The captain's "I don't want to survive; I want to live." Is still one of the best lines in almost any movie I've watched. Also, the BuyNLarge being an evil corporation is hilariously self unaware.
Wall-e is so good tho!
I don't even get what that means like isn't living and surviving the same thing
Oh wait nvm
Are we sure that they didn’t start the concept of the evil corporation?
Lelouch...
I love Greek mythology and the songs were awesome, but history isn't that interesting.
Still loved the movie tho
Fun fact about the Incredibles:
While designing the characters, they thought each member of the family should have fitting powers bases on their roles in the family. Mr. Incredible is the dad; he's the one you expect to swoop in and save the day; the strong one. Elastagirl is the Mom; she's pulled in a million different directions by expectations and demands from her kids. Violet is a teenager; they're collected, and defensive (or at least she is). Dash is a 10 year old boy, with boundless energy. And babies have incredible potential, which is why Jack Jack has so many powers.
You learn something every day 😊
That makes so much sense! And they execute the concept so well!

@@staringcorgi6475I can’t argue with that, so I’ll cut it some slack.
Inside out, ratatouille, and the good Dinosaur.
All 6/10
Some stuff here doesn’t add up
*I'm not the best person to explain this, but I'm going to try anyways.*
Pixar suffers from what I like to call "deep concept, shallow story". The writers and artists at Pixar excel at creating interesting scenarios and settings, like:
* A rat with aspirations to cook puppets around a human terrible at cooking
* Emotions are individual sentient beings with their own social hierarchy
* Dinosaurs are the dominant species while humans are animals
Each of these ideas are capable of generating extremely interesting world design and artistic expression, something that is almost always brought up in modern Pixar critiques.
The problem here is the story. In order for the world-building to pay off, there also has to be an interesting story. However, if you pay attention, there's a pattern in how Pixar develops it's characters:
1. Protagonist has an aspiration but suffers from some sort of flaw
2. Protagonist causes some major accident that separates them from their peers
3. Protagonist meets deuteragonist, who suffers from their own personal flaw but compliments the protagonist in some way
4. Protagonist and deuteragonist work together, finding success and slowly overcoming their differences
5. Protagonist and deuteragonist undergo a conflict right before the story climax and go their separate ways
6. Protagonist is unable to overcome their flaw without the deuteragonist, and the deuteragonist is unable to overcome their flaw without the protagonist
7. Protagonist reconciles with the deuteragonist after prolonged self-reflection
8. Protagonist and deuteragonist resolve the conflict and end the movie having found success
I'm not saying that this story structure is bad. I'm just saying that many of the 6/10 or lower ranked movies on this list all have a very similar story structure to the 8 steps I listed above, give or take some supporting minor characters and insertion of shenanigans. The films that break the 6/10 ceiling usually have an interesting twist on the story structure (Toy Story), sport an impressive cast of characters (The Incredibles), or have secondary plotlines that compliment the main plot very well (Finding Nemo).
I'm not saying that the three movies here are bad. They have interesting concepts, but these films also have to be judged on story. Unfortunately, while the settings and motifs may be unique, the story really isn't.
David Hong I mean that doesn’t mean they are only 6/10. The only 6/10 movies Pixar made (imo) are brave and tgd
And after all that, cars 3 is still said to be better
On his patreon, JelloApocolypse posted some longer reviews of these movies that was about an hour long for all 19 of them. I’d recommend watching it if you want to hear why he gave Inside Out a 6/10. It costs a dollar on his patreon, but I’m pretty sure it’s on TH-cam too. He titled it, “Pixar movies reviewed in Many Words or Less.”

@@arturoayala1004 Arrogant man at the top of the world who is about to attain an even greater position of authority and fame gets taken down a peg by finding himself unwillingly stuck in a small town for a while in a way that puts his entire way of life at risk, where he learns to value other people's contributions and gains humility and arguably morality. Also, he falls in love while he's there, and makes a huge personal sacrifice that he never would have considered before getting stuck in that town and undergoing forced character development. By the end of the movie, he's restored to a position of status, but as a wiser, humbler man who will never forget the lessons he learned from that small town and its inhabitants.
You could probably also argue that both Thor and Cars have functionally the same plot as a generic Hallmark Christmas special, except gender-swapped and usually in the Christmas special they usually give up their status in favor of the small town.
Also, Thor and Cars are alike in that people's general consensus is that the second movie in the franchise wasn't great but that the third more than makes up for it.

Coco is just "Lie Down. Try not to cry. Cry a lot." And it's one of my favorite movies. I think where it really succeeds is that because most of the cast is already dead, the stakes are much more existential. There may be a life after death, but as long as we are loved by those we leave behind, our legacy lives on. Coco examines what happens when our legacy is forgotten. And that's not even getting into the ending with Mama Coco. I have been crying the entire time I type this and I think this film will always have that effect on me. And that's okay.
I am seriously pissed off that you gave cars 3 a higher rating than ratatouille. Also ratatouille deserves at least a 9/10

Ah- well, you see, about that...
Eh, it was good. Anyone expecting something as good or better than the first was setting themselves up for disappointment. It’s still a good movie, and there was plenty of fun to be had.
Hey, I really liked Incredibles 2. It’s not the first one, but I didn’t expect it to be. It did its own thing in a good way, and the animation was fabulous.
Yeah, I liked it too. Not as good as the original, but it’s not trying to be. It’s trying to be it’s own story and a continuation of the first (LEGO Movie 2 also does this really well). I appreciate a sequel that is a good movie in its own right, not simply being a rehash of the first.
Funnily enough, this is the same mindset that Frozen 2 has, and I actually think that Frozen 2 is better than the first.
Like, MILES better, like no CONTEST. Frozen 2 is phenomenal
It was good. 7/10.
how is cars 2 rated higher than the 1st cars?!
🤔
as opposed to cars 1 it actually has an interesting plot and is engaging enough. it's more fun that the first cars, mostly because lightning mcqueen is an incredibly boring and lazily written character. there are no jokes with him that score. mater on the other hand is a comedic character, that has gotten a few laughs out of me which is more than i can say for ol' lightning over here. overall: a spy movie is already an ultimately more interesting and fun movie than the story of a guy thats kinda an ass and returns as not an ass. cars 1 was riddled with clichés, cars 2 poked fun at them. cars 2 was clever whilst cars 1 was not
I dont think it was clever, quite the contrary. Pixar always created movies that fitted well in its own universe and, although the Cars universe have a lot of holes (Toy Story makes sense, a universe that toys come to life when nobody is watching. Cars, you have to suspend your disbelief way more because when you start to think the rules of its world, they make less and less sense), the story itself made sense for a universe of cars. The second one could be better in any universe than Cars and it shows how not to create a story based on a comedic character and the ending doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
@@lordeilluminati personally i disagree. the story of the second movie makes as much sense as the story of the first one in a universe with talking cars (which in itself makes no sense to us because its nothing we knew). but. because this universe is basically our own but just that the people are replaced with cars it makes sense again. because thats normal in that universe. it makes sense in that universe because it's like ours just with cars. it's clever in it's own right, openly mocking tropes and still integrating them in an enjoyable and funny way. i always see people complaining about putting the 'comic relief' as the main character and how it's a terrible idea, when it reality it's not the characters fault but the writers. and well, cars 2 is an example of it done not necessarily good but at least right. it's a fun and enjoyable movie. for children. kids love it. adults may find it boring because we don't have interest in talking cars in a a cartoonish world anymore. kids love it. i saw it with my little brother and cousin and they were amazed by all the spy stuff. they loved mater as a character. they loved the humor.
Am i seriously the only one who liked the second Cars movie!!!!!????

Thinking the same thing. Violet wasn’t really whiny, she was just shy and had lowself esteem. It also didn’t help that her mother was asking her to do something she didn’t know how to do, and under so much pressure as well.
I remember being a little bored by Wall-E and the Incredibles as a kid, but I should probably watch them again. I guess I just didn't know how to appreciate good movies when I was a stupid child lol. Also, Coco was my absolute favorite, probably because it reminded me a lot of my own family and culture that I'd kinda been overlooking as a teenager.

JelloApocalypse you had one job. ONE. JOB!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and my mates once spent nearly an *hour* ranting about all the bizarre questions that the world building of cars fails to answer.
For example:
-Why do they have staircases in their houses, if they can’t go up them?
-Why is there a glass of beer on the table in Cars 2 if they don’t have hands to pour it?
-When cars die, why can’t they just be resembled?
-Can the cars reproduce?
-Why do the cars get to do any job they want but the boats, planes and other vehicles are forced to drive other cars?
-Why does Lightning McQueen put up with Mater when he’s not remotely tolerable in any way?
-If all the cows are trucks then where do they get the milk for ice cream, which Mater references in Cars 2?
-Why are there *three* cars movies? Who asked for that?
Mate, you just invoked the wrath of a person whose favorite movie is Cars 1. Those questions you raised about their biology? Ask them in your spare time, and they are not vital to the plot. Have you ever raised said questions when watching Thomas and Friends? The movie's PLOT actually send a good, albeit clichêd, moral that winning isn't everything. Plus this was Paul Newman's last role before he died. The characters I found likeable, even though some are a bit one-note in their personalities. And Life is a Highway is a song everyone has to hear at least once in their lives. I'd give it a 9/10: slightly better than Cars 3 and very much better than Cars 2. I will gladly die on the hill that Cars 1 is a really good movie.
you seem angry

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
won't we realize that he gave A bug's life a 4? Ok, it's not one of Pixar's best, but still it's not a bad movie, in my opinion it deserves an 8
For the most part, yeah I agree with e everything here, but how did Cars 2 get a rating above the original Cars. I saw it one time, and was really not impressed, it was all one big slapstick gag.
Fox Scot Cars 2 is entertainingly bad while Cars 1 is kind of boring to most people.
He actually used 11 words for Cars 2
Cars 2 puts more effort than Cars 1
Exactly
Fox Scot yea like really thought cars is an amazing movie
Toy Story 4:
"Okay but this time THREE cries"
Lightyear:
"Brave little toaster, got disrespected."
Do they open each other up and steal things? That line had me genuinely laughing out loud, great video!!
So Studio Ghibli????Not yet??ok I am fine, great video (crying)
Yes please!
I was just thinking this. It might rip my still-beating heart out but hell yeah I want a Ghibli one of these.

MAKE THIS COMMENT THE TOP ONE RIGHT NOW
How the heck is cars two above cars one
Dozer Mashburn Beans
I think that sums it up.
Because cars 2 actually tried something
And how is cars 3 above inside out???
DeathClaw Streamer I get that they tried something but cars two is absolute trash every time I tried to watch it I fell asleep
bro a bugs life is fire. cash money am i right
Tin Toy's eldritch power infecting the previous entry is extremely accurate
I... I thought Cars was a good movie...
No? Okay I’ll just go in the corner.
Artist Kid it is. A great one actually
@@dreembrand wrong
GLUV WRLD finally someone who agrees
I do too
Cars 1 was good, Cars 2 was *NOISES OF ME TRYING TO GET THE INFINITY GAUNTLET SO I CAN SNAP ALL THE CARS 2 FILMS* and Cars 3 was pretty good.
Wall-E was my CHILDHOOD. I would watch it and Coco any time, anywhere.
OtakuTaki I watched Wall-E everyday when I was a kid. EVERY. DAY. No wonder why i like it so much
wall-e my fave movie by pixar
WALL-E is my 2nd fave pixar movie mostly because of childhood memories...sigh those were the days😏😌
Brave is underrated, it's about communication boundaries being too toxic and working things out so they both get what they want.
oh no he ranked cars 2 over cars time to riot
"Is it money? Is the reason money?"
"It's money."
“I’m not the American educational system”
Hits hard man
SlushieOfHats sucks for you, I'm british.
Kill me
Being glad you're British and not American these days is like being glad you're Italian and not German during World War 2.
You're Aussie, though. Like, you're in almost a bad a boat as the Americans and Brits. Not as bad- you're not waiting on the edge of crisis or sucking on an ice-cold popsicle of awful- but from what I recall all the major English-speaking nations are feeling the pain of shit going wrong.
And I say this as an American watching everything go to hell.
+TheAussieGirl
You're damn right. We've never needed anything like a militia to keep our government in check here, we've always just indiscriminately and endlessly made fun of everybody and that's been enough to get them all quaking in their boots. I don't know if that speaks to how timid our politicians are or if it speaks more to the overwhelming power of our bantz.
The fact that penguins of Madagascar is a 4/10 in jelloapocalypse’s eyes enraged me
It's funny how Cars and Wall e were the pixar movies of my childhood lol
Unlike coco which is a rip off of book of life
‘Do they steal organs?’ My favourite part XD
"Do they mate? _This franchise implies they mate_ "
I read this comment after cars 2 and oh god they actually sell organs
"I DON'T WANT BIRD! I- oh wait yes I do"
😂
But I want BIRD!
3 years later and this is still the best explained film rating system I've ever seen
Best explained but worst used lmao
Coco makes you tear every time you hear "Rember Me"
