Great video! I just received this very pen in the mail from Japan last week. It was at an incredible price for a gold nib Sailor. I got it in a as I wanted to try a different nib size that I haven't tried before, too. Great pen, writes like a dream and the color is gorgeous.

I've never had the chance to try a Sailor broad, but I'm definitely curious about it. Have you tried the Sailor music nib? I haven't, but I've been eyeing one for ages, and I'm dying to try it out. Thank you for watching!

@@snarkywordsworth No, I've never tried a music nib on any pen. I'm curious about them, too, but I would want to try it before buying. Maybe someone will have one at a future pen show I'm able to attend and I can give it a try.

@@snarkywordsworth Hi, I recently got my first Sailor with a Broad Nib, it was the Professional Gear Black with a 21k Broad nib, and I have to say that while I love it, it seems to be quite a jump from the 21k Medium, it is smoother, broader and wetter, but for most of my writing it is a bit too broad (only my Zoom nib writes broader).
About the Music nib, some months ago I got one from Amazon Japan. Even when it is broader than the Zoom nib, I must say I like it a lot; it is quite wet and broad, you need to hold it at an specific angle to write with it, but once you get used to it it is a pleasure and the writing looks very beautiful.
Last thing I wanted to say is that I started with a 21K Fine, then I went for broader nibs and now my preferred nib is Medium.
      Cheers from Spain.

Lolol all the crinkly sounds at the beginning! Get that box!!! Lolol i love sailors too! What's your favorite sailor nib size? And omg that blue and the sparkle... that'll give my Vega a run for its money!! That blue is gorgeous!
Hmm I've never heard of this sailor profit light before. I'll need to check them out online.

Thank you so much for watching! I love a Sailor F, but I am really enjoying this EF the more I write with it. As I understand it, the light line is a little newer and only has a couple colorway options - the sparkly blue one I have, a sparkly red, and a classic black. en.sailor.co.jp/product/1911-light-fountain-pen/

Ordered this pen from Amazon Japan seller last week, then changed my mind, and cancelled. Ordered a black one (same line? - I find the seller descriptions a bit confusing....) today. Maybe I should have gone fine instead of xf, but always prefer the finest line possible, at least in Pilots and Platinums. Already have the xf Lochness 1911s, but it has been a bit tempermental with inkflow, regardless of which ink I give it, or the angle I hold it at. Hoping this less expensive pen will do better.
If this new one gives a good experience, I may go with the sparkly blue, as well. Thought it looked, maybe, cheap and too flashy on Amazon, but it is lovely in your video. :)

After spending more time with this pen and trying a few other extra fine Sailors, I have to say that I definitely prefer the company's fine and medium-fine nibs as far as not having to really think about what inks I'm using. They definitely need to be wetter inks, or else I've found skipping to be an issue, especially during long writing sessions. I love Pilot EFs and Platinum EFs, but I think there's something about the Sailor EF that makes it just a bit more temperamental. Definitely let me know how the black 1911 goes. I hope you enjoy!
