Okay, so, if you had said you'd seen all the kill count videos, you wouldn't be lying, but since you said every video, you're lying, when this video came out, 131 videos had came out including this one, all of those videos runtime together comes out to be 2:13:30:45 which is 2 days 13 hours 30 minutes and 45 seconds in all, so you couldn't have watched all of his videos in one day.
Laurie Norman this wasn’t the first video I watched by DM. I meant *when* I found the channel I watched all of them in one day but that was months ago.
I know it's terrible, but I saw a meme once that had me rolling. It was an artist's rendition of the rack, and it said "what doesn't kill you makes you longer" lol
AWESOME!!!! I see the wood signs I carved for James & Chelsea!!! WOOOOO, Dull Machete wood carving will be next!!!! They look so awesome on your set!!!!!!!!! :)
The amount of research this took is being severely understated. Very interesting and well prepared write up. And I could watch Chelsea smile-talk for hours. I'm not straight so that isn't creepy >.
I came into this like “I could never watch an hour long video but whatever I’ll watch a bit” Then I watched the whole thing....and all the other podcasts....
How I imagine the pitch went when he came up with the Saw kill count Jigsaw: Hello James, I wanna play a game, inside your neck is a bomb that set to go off in about a few weeks. The only way to deactivate it is if you make kill count episodes focusing on saw movies. If you don’t make one it will blow up sooner, you have until the leprechaun series is over, make your choice. James: Shit.
Billy the puppet:Nightmare if you do not subscribe to pewdipie dead meat and Stampy long nose the most embarrassing channels ever and watch all the seasons and episodes of my little pony your channel will be deleted and your comment will backfire and bombs in your neck will go of You have 1 month The clock is ticking
I’m thinking about writing a paper for school about how horror movies reflect the events/views/society of a time, and i am gonna use this as one of my sources, cause i find this interesting and loved listening to this podcast! Thank you!
scoopy i did write it! It was a lot of fun, and I got one of the highest grades in the class for it. My teacher also enjoyed it, and it is probably my favorite paper ive ever written. It was like 12 pages long, but it was so cool to research
Can't wait for the new intro soon: I'm James A Janisse, I'm Chelsea Rebecca and we're husband and wife and we liked to get scared together! They're so cute!
This was definitely uncomfortable because of the subject matter, but I always enjoy the Dead Meat podcast. Thanks Chelsea for putting so much hard work into this, and thanks to both of you for being such entertaining people on your various projects. Sending good vibes your way :)
The freezing a person with cold water in an icy condition was also done by a couple of Russian Tsars Where they take a young woman strip her and throw water on her while she would be standing in the snow This technique would also be used as an experiment by the Japanese in Manchuria to test the effects of hypothermia
Same. I found a different kill count for Jurassic World for my son. Someone in the comments of that video recommended James. So, I popped on over, watched it, and fell in love. Watched all the Jurassic videos that night, and I have since watched every Kill Count over and over again like it’s my favorite sitcom. I’m just starting to watch the podcast videos, and I’m loving them.
All James' little nipple pasties reminded me of Starz's objection to Hannibal's blood eagle episode-- the execs were okay with them having the lungs flayed out on lines from the ceiling, but not with the female victim's nipples being shown, so they had to edit around it. Like really?
James leaning back on his chair holding his face saying "leaves the whole world blind and in bulls" is such a mood for this video. He seemed so exasperated and done with everything.
Honestly I’m so happy I found ur channel because your truly one of my favorite youtubers surprised you don’t have 1 million because you honestly great. All other movie critics are like snobby and uptight and have strong opinions about everything but you make jokes and people who have been watching your channel understand your inside jokes like “Axle” Please keep up the good work 👍🏾💞
Wow, I did NOT expect Chelsea to talk about the Tang Code! I actually took a course called Crime and Punishment in Traditional China while I was at university. We looked at the Tang, Ming, and Qing systems... I never thought I'd hear about it ever again, least of all on Dead Meat. Our final assignment in the class was to write a crime/legal drama based on the Qing Code. Good times.
I wish I could watch more horror movies but it affects me too much, no matter how cheesy or ridiculous. It was amusing to see James looking as uncomfortable as I normally feel. The content on this channel has made a big impact on me. It’s a degree of separation that allows me to appreciate the genre for the first time. Thank you!
The fact that they know that even though people like this stuff in movies, that is is horrible in real life makes me smile as I know that they are truly good people.
Aww, no mention of The Cage? So allegedly, in England during the Dark Ages there was a torture which involved strapping a steel cage to someones stomach. The cage would be filled with starved, rabid rats who, out of fear and hunger, would burrow into the persons stomach and eat them alive. Also, the Freezer trap could he a reference to a “humane” torture still being used in places like America. Its just shutting someone in a room with the Air conditioning on to make the room just slightly too cold to ever be comfortable. This type of torture could go on for months or even years. Also while this isn’t a historic torture device, its a fascinating torture trap I’d love to see being put into the new Jigsaw series. Its the usage of perfluorocarbon, a liquid which can hold enough oxyen to actually allow a person to breathe in said fluid. However, while the fluid enters the lungs, it makes the person feel like they’re drowning, and getting the stuff out of the lungs doesn’t feel too pleasent either. This modern torture involves putting people into a pitch black box, filling it, “drowning” them and removing them while threatening to repeat the process if they didn’t disclose the information. Just imagine what the series could do with this stuff. I swear I’m not a murderer, I just love researching random things.
I heard a different adaptation of the cage which is a bucket on the person's stomach and hot coals placed on the top of the bucket to encourage the rats to dig out
Another "real" Saw trap is from Poe's "Pit and the Pendulum" (judging by inquisition rules it wouldn't have been used like he wrote) which I'm fairly certain directly inspired Seth Baxter's trap
I'm just so excited to see you cover all the SAW movies... Definitely my favorite horror franchise , for both villain , and utterly ridiculous story line :)
y'all's intro take about being aware that there were actual human beings affected by these real life torture devices is incredibly admirable, especially in 2022
I just realised that Matilda features an iron maiden. In Trunchbull's cabinet it is said she put nails and broken glass in there and makes kids go in there for hours. They don't get hurt so long as they stay in the right position.
The first Hostel movie had a museum to torture device. I remember because the two American characters was chasing a guy wearing a similar jacket to what their icelantic friend wore through it.
And of course The Terrifier Hacksaw deal. Person gets hanged upside down so the blood rushes to their head, keeps them conscious while 2 people on either side use a long handsaw to go right down their middle, and they're alive, conscious, and feelings everything until the saw makes it to their lungs Least, I think it went like that.
If there is gonna be another Saw Movie like the rumors say, what kind of traps do y’all think will be in that one? I remember in Sinister Two that there was a death were rats ate through people. I think that might be one of them, and maybe something like someone slowly getting dropped into a vat of hot candle wax or boiling water. What do y’all think? What traps or torture methods will be in the rumored Saw Movie? I also think the rumored Saw Movie would be called “Jigsaw 2: The Billy Inquisition”
This episode was so cool. dark, but cool. Whats awesome to me is i've been here since the beginning of this channel and watched it go from a small horror channel into how big it is now. i used to wait all week, and now there's so much content i can hardly keep up sometimes!

*Fuck, he got us.*
XDXDXDXDXDXDXD LOL
Lol
Remember when Tom Cruise said "I shot him, the bullets and the fall killed him" in Collateral
Same exact logic anti-gun people use 🙄
I'm so impressed that you got Billy's contact info and persuaded him to do an intro, he's actually surprisingly camera shy ;)
And is dead.

Fun fact- the actress who played Simone in the first trap mentioned, actually won that role from a reality tv show hosted by Shawnee smith.
anythinggal Shawnee smith is amanda young right? In saw?
anythinggal .
Scream Queens
She's honestly pretty believable. If I remember correctly, she was the only contestant without any formal training too.

I love this video's chemistry of Chelsea being a little too emphatic to talk about torture methods and James being deeply troubled by them

#FreeTheRibcage
Hannibal was NBC though, it would've been fine on Starz. You're confusing it with American Gods, another Bryan Fuller show ;)
Levi Everaerts Then yeah, the NBC people. Clearly they are not all as fun as Liz Lemon.
When the cat arrived, I just kept on watching the scenes that she's in over, and over, and over, and over.
I'm a little obsessed.
