YAY. I came back to let you know I tried this one 3 different TYPES of hair toppers and it works. It works on a larger base also if you find the ends that make the topper flat when you pull on them with your fingers. THEN you choose that area to sew IN your thread loops. I also learned it will NOT work to do this in the way I have seen other people do it. It will NOT lay flat if you just attach the halo clear wire on the ends and pull it through because it needs to be strong all the way ACROSS under the topper base. IF you follow this method, I believe you can secure almost any size topper base, it worked for me on the one you have and on a 5.5 inch and a 6.5 ... I love you for this, I have a very sensitive scalp after a head injury with nerve damage all through the top of my body and trying to grow my delicate hair BACK after the accident i cant have clips pulling on hair or even combs. ...thank you thank you... you are an inventor.

Very smart! They make soft, small velvet topper grips with these halo wires. Same idea. That's what I use for my toppers. I tape them to the grips. Both Milano and ThinHairThick have them.
I found another way to secure it without clips. I an travelling now, when I come back, I will make a video. I constantly thinkbif ideas how to have it secured without clips, I am way to sensative abd have very few hairs left.

That step is important and I’ve never seen it before. Do you adjust the tightness of plastic cord each time you put it on? Does the plastic cord stretch any?

I’ll leave the clips in just in case, but the stretch elastic is much more comfortable.
If you make the elastic not too tight, it will stay in place. It rolls up just a little bit on my head, but any headbands roll up in my head. So, the key is the perfect size of the elastic.
I ordered it on Etsy. I paid $350 for it. It was made in China, but very good quality. I can give you their contacts. The rest adjustments I made myself.

And I am getting ready to make a video where I will show another idea how to wear a topper without using clips

I wear a topper with clips with like little rubber inserts and I have not experienced any hair damage,
I still can't wear clips, too sensative scalp. So, I am constantly looking for solutions to make it comfortable.

You will eventually lose your hair from those clips. I wore a hair topper for 3 years and it pulled most of my hair out on the top of my head.
Yes, that is why I am always trying to find the way to wear toppers, I use those clips at very minimum.
But what if you have bald patches and can't use clips there or double sided tape😢
