I'm so happy to hear that Koreans are supporting Chef Edward. He’s openly shared how he struggled with feeling connected to his Korean heritage and wanted to rediscover his roots. He even joked about his Korean language skills, saying they were as good as a 'drunk third grader,' yet nobody mocked him-they accepted him just as he is. It’s incredibly rare for someone not born and raised in their motherland to later seek such a deep connection with their cultural heritage. It takes courage, and it’s heartwarming to see that his efforts are being embraced. Thank you to all Koreans willing to open up the gate and accept Chef Edward!
Chef edward lee you are the winner for me, a humble senior with incredible knowledge of food and variety of skill, years of experience won’t lie ❤ hopefully will be able to try eating at one of your restaurants later 🤩 stay healthy always chef 🔥
Yes!!!! I felt the same!! You explained it really well. It didn’t feel fake like with others tv personalities. And now that I look him up he has always tried to be authentic and find his own way.
Dear Chef Edward, I got to know about you thru Korean cooking show “the culinary class wars.” The show was unfair in so many levels 😢 and I watched it only for you 😊 Your intelligence and innovative approach to cooking were nothing short of extraordinary. You not only showcased incredible skills but also humility that resonates with so many. Your humility and dedication to your craft are incredibly inspiring. You have a unique ability to connect with your audience while pushing the boundaries of culinary arts. You truly deserved to win, and I can't wait to see what you do next!❤❤
I think Edward should have won. Not because he was a white shirt or whatever but the way he was able to make so many amazing creative dishes just out of tofu was extremely amazing. His last plate was so creative too. I'm no chef but I would have voted for him overall in creativity and presentation, and if I was able to taste it....he would have won in taste as well.
The show is indeed unfair in so many levels..there were a few really talented chefs got pulled down by their teammates during the group challenge, unable to advance. Chef Ahn youseoung, who makes Japanese dishes and has great skill in handling fish, suddenly got voted out, the look on his face was so shocked and hurt, he even couldn’t show his talent and operate properly in the next restaurant round due to the lack of information from the production. We all see how impressive chef Edward was in the tofu round.. he’s also so humble.. while the other one was so arrogant. We all know chef Edward is the true winner. I’m not sure if I will watch the next season, don’t feel so good watching it, but I’m glad it let me know about amazing chef Edward.
Edward Lee should've won at Culinary class wars. Other guy seem cocky. I like how humble Edward Lee is. You can tell Edward is passionate, the other guy is in it to just win
I'm here after CULINARY CLASS WARS. Chef Edward Kyun Lee is my favourite contestant from the show. I loved his passion for Korean culture and cuisine and his creativity while bringing out the dishes. Even though he's the runner up of the show, he is also a winner to me.
I've been watching cooking shows and experimenting in the kitchen since I could reach the counters with a chair. Cooking for others makes me feel like I'm feeding their souls and sharing mine with them. Im a firm believer that food can connect people in a way that nothing else can. Its my love language. Oddly enough, I never considered it a career path for myself and instead tried pursuing every other interest I had. I tried 27 different jobs and have been in college pursuing psychology, Ive hated the way my professional future looked every time. Nothing quite suited me and I fell into a deep depression, feeling as if life wasn't worth it anymore. I've been so lost for over 10 years. Now at 30, after watching Chef Edward Lee on Culinary Class Wars for the first time since he first captured my interest on Iron Chef, I've decided to finally pursue my grandest, deepest passion in life. Thank you so much, Chef Edward, for sharing your passion with the world. It has very much saved my life.
Yes. The real champion was defined in the tofu challenge - creativity, variety, execution and taste! All with one key ingredient but in 7 dishes under tremendous pressure.
When I'm watching him now, I can see how genuine person he is, who he speaks with, when he meets a person, I'm like, wow...Mr. Kyun LEE is a really soulful korean American man. I believe he shall not need to prove his cultural identity because I believe that he is one of his own kind, warm, genuine, adventurous person. Perfect! Thank you so very much for letting me find this content of him, Mr. Edward LEE/ 이 균 요리사 선생님. 감사합니다.
I am so touched. Im glad you got some spotlight through netflix although many agree it didn’t do you justice. Hoping for a more prosperous future for your family ❤
Edward Lee is the best chef! I love his humble meek personality! The best! I went to Chef Edward Lee’s SUCCOTASH restaurant in Washington DC near the White House and the former Trump Hotel on early Friday; it was packed with customer wait listed. The food was excellent. The ambience was top!
I got to know you through the show '흑백요리사' and was deeply moved by the way you approach cooking with such heart and spirit. I applaud your dishes, infused with a passion and dedication that no one can rival.
Wow such a humble and kind chef. I don’t know any other chef at that calibre taking the time and having the patience to train female chefs in a male dominated dog eat dog, tough industry. Kitchens are not easy workplaces with hot tempers flaring. So refreshing to see a truly kind and talented chef.
I do think Southern and Korean cuisine have a lot in common, the world and social environment shapes the use and access to ingredients. I’m glad he could show appreciation and respectfully connect these two worlds like this.
I admire him alot after watching culinary class. I learned from him, challege and competition ourselves and go beyond and believe yourself. If you know what you are doing . You doing great . Thank you I felt bit unfair of judging towards him but anyway you are the most talented , humble person sir. It doesn’t matter which win but you teach a lot to all the watcher and chefs.i guess.
Excellent Chef Edward Lee, I first saw him on Culinary Wars; he was humble & calm, & his move from city to country with fusion food & family wow very inspiring
After watching this, I found the reason why chef Edward is so caring, creative and natural. His big heart is what I look up to! Thank you for joining the program and the inspiration, you are my role model.
The tofu challenge alone already made you the winner in my eyes, Chef. But besides your creativity, your humility throughout the entire competition also set you apart. Hope to try your dishes one day!
I don't know Chef Edward Lee before Culinary Class on Netflix, I was in awe watching him cook, he was impressive. The man is a legend and so humble. He should have won the title instead of Pasta man. That show was rigged from the start because he is not Korean but a foreigner.
With all due respect the show wasn't rigged go back and watch all of the stuff they cut out. Chef Edward Lee was peak and showed off his creativity in culinary arts but he went with some thing kinda experimental with his last dish compared to Napoli Mafia who poured his soul into something he excelled at. They both did a fantastic job but the fact that you call out the chef who earned his name through out the competition as simply the "pasta man" shows a ton of bias. At the end of the day it was a competition and if you look at everyones interview the show runners tried to make it fair and objective and just because your favorite guy didn't win doesn't make the other competitors any less of a great chef on their own right. Don't judge a book by it's cover just because you were blinded by tunnel vision.
Thank you Chef Lee for making the world a better place! Just stayed watching Culinary Wars and read about your life. You are a gem, really blown away by your humbleness, creativity and kindness!

Love the fact that despite him being a well established chef..he was never cocky or a show-off during the entire show..very wise, charming, level-headed, open-minded and down-to-earth person! I was rooting for him the entire time!
Damn, KY is blessed to have someone like Edward. We here in Ohio would love to have him open something here. Also awesome to see someone from the East coast fully embrace this region! Our family plan on visiting his restaurant sometime in the near future.
