    love your videos!! Chuck wobbles on my impact driver... looks like it's the anvil. do you think it's the anvil or problems with the mechanism assembly or others?

    Good job on the video. I bought a DC-825 (18v) less then a year ago. I've just noticed that the hammer assembly has a little play, it moves side to side. Everything works as it should. Is there anything I can (should) do to tighten it up?

    Just an FYI - if you have a bit stuck that won't come out any other way, the anvil itself can come apart. The parts list shows it as a single assembly, but there's a snap ring inside that lets you remove a small disc, spring, and plunger. With those out, you can use a punch to knock the bit out from the back.

    Glad I bought the whole new nose assembly on ebay. I wanted to see what shape my original anvil & hammer were in, but the assembly did not come apart like his nice new one, and the whole thing is packed with grease. Same tool, DCF815. Rest of the video was very helpful, though.

    Hey, I have a problem with DCF885 type 10 model. Can anyone help? Chuck on my driver doesn't hold bits. I took it apart and put it back together but I didn't notice any problems. It still doesnt work.

      Your problem may be due to a worn Ball Bearing of the Springs inside the chuck are getting weak. You've had is apart so I assume it's clean. Sticky residue in the chuck will cause the same problem.

    Can I remove the anvil and then stick a punch in the rear side to remove a bit that is stuck?

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hole in the rear of the anvil does not go clear through. Sometimes when this has happened to me, I will put the chuck end in a vice and jar the tool back and forth to get it to open.

    man thats kinda fucked, you have to tear apart your drill to replace parts because they WILL wear out

    • @maximedwards3451
      @maximedwards3451 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes,sad but true.They will wear out because they are designed to do that so they think us fools will rush outand spend more loads of dosh for another mass produced crap drill.

      Moving parts wear out. Especially when their job is to smash into each other. Weight, cost, and performance are all factors in design and materials used.

      +Nick 636n8r (stuntn24-7) All higher quality tools have housings that come apart easily so you can replace parts that will wear. Only tools you'll fine that don't come apart to replace parts are going to be cheap ass craftsman, b&d, etc.
