So far being against Intercession squad, my advice on how to beat the is that you don't. However, it has been an awesome Kill Team to get a new friend onboard to the game! Super simple and strong.

At 11:30 you were giving examples of shooting 4 times in one turning point (bolter discipline, overwatch, then wrath of vengeance). Just to note, you CANNOT use the aux grenade launcher for overwatch like you did.

Man you would have to be crazy to run all assault intercessors with the duelist and rending tactics. To do something so insane you'd probably have to do worship some kind of God of Blood that makes furniture out of skulls. That person would be pretty insane for sure

Can they shoot 4 times? the recent FAQ commentary - "Action restrictions still apply. So with Bolter Discipline in mind, if the operative has already performed two Shoot actions during that activation, you could not use Wrath of Vengeance to perform a third Shoot action." am I missing something?

I really enjoyed this video! It’s a great idea for a series. Watching batreps and tier lists is great but stuff like this which tells you how to weigh decisions and what to consider is so so helpful for players who need practice.
Nice video, I really struggle against Intercessors with my Corsairs unless my Gunner survives and can take them out one by one, they can just shrug off most of what my other operatives can do
Why not a "How to beat Pathfinders" vid? It's been bothering me that in the Killzone Podcast, one of the guys off-handedly says "yea, they can just crumble." But no one has explained that, and I have yet to actually watch it happen.

Suprised to see AI heavy lists vs elites. I always bring two intercessors with scopes vs elites and they do a lot of work. Admittedly bringing two scopes and blessed bolts doesn't leave enough points for an auspex
I've been playing a narrative campaign with intercession into my buddies breachers and just was getting waxed. Glad to hear thats supposed to be a rough match up for me lol.
Good video. The Auspex does not stop being concealed in cover though. That's why it specifically mentions that they can't retain dice for being in cover. That wording means they still count as being in cover, and are therefore not a valid target to shoot if concealed and you don't have a vantage point.
I'm just gonna copy/paste: if you're behind light cover and requiring heavy cover to obscure you from vantage points, Auspex stops that making safe light cover spots, unsafe

Very nice channel i just discovered , sorry if i comment all over the place but, can a free action be done if the agent have already used that kind of action ? for exemple can i use angel of death on an assault intercessor who have already fight twice during the turning point ? the "free" word confuse me because i know actions cannot be done multiple times unless its said otherwise and the dude has already fight twice. I mean is it free like at no cost but following the actions limitation rule or a free full bonus action bypassing the rules ? thx and like i said great channel for improving competitive play skills. cheers
Simply put, they, novitiates, pathfinders, Veteran Guardsmen, Hunter Clade and Harlies and some other stuff out there is up for a nerf to avoid powercreep with other factions
WRATH OF VENGEANCE lets them do a "free Shoot action". "Bolter Discipline" gives them the ability to do "two Shoot actions". So max two Shoot actions and if it dies it can only use WRATH OF VENGEANCE if it had only fired once. Max 2 + 1 Overwatch shoots (and not 3 + 1) or am I missing something?

That would make sense but that would also mean that free "Dash" actions a lot of teams can do at the start of the turn don't count and the models can do more Dashes during their activation. Which teams have roughly even win rates (50 %) against intercessors? A friend and I want to get into playing kill team and i would like to go for intercessors. Which teams would be good for him regarding balanced outcomes of our matches?
You read the Auspex wrong, i think. The Auspex dont ignore concealed and cover, just obscured (from heavy cover). So an Enemy in light cover with a conceal order cant be shot even with auspex.
Stacking buffs onto the Leader's bolt weapon is hilarious. Lethal 5+ on bolt rifle and +1 damage to stalker pattern are optimal for your basic dudes. Sure it is Heavy with no way to mitigate it, but Stalker pattern with +1 damage and built in Shoot twice is basically like having a heavy gunner.

Love the video! Actually abit of info in there on how to better run as a intercessor... Still not sharing it though! No one shell know the tricks on how to beat me. My intercessors are currently 13-0 running dueller and durable. I would like to keep them that way thanks lol
I just hope they dont nerf them or legionaries in the next balance. They are the only 2 elite teams that are truly viable and competitive. With all the teams with multiple plasmas and such even then they are one good shooting role away from being crippled. Please GW leave these 2 elite teams alone!

That's only during their own activation

I have read it. You need to re-read it. That FAQ is for when an Intercession dies during their own activation as a result of Guard etc

I beat them with Elucidian Starstriders. High roll and always save from the hit. XD
Ah very lucky. Starstriders usually always lose to them due to having basically no damage high output

how do i play gellerpox into intercessors? i have lost every single match
Hard matchup but just gotta try and survive taking no shots TP1 then use Hulks to rushdown marines TP2 onwards

No that's incorrect, Wrath let's them do an additional free shoot action, just only on death

Legionaries, their rocket launcher and plasma rifles on vantage points while watching the objective point in front of them are really pain in the ass

I meant it ignores obscuring for people relying on that to keep them safe while in light cover and concealed

Nah never run stalker. Bolt Rifle does a better job with that loadout
