They have been coming with Ultra transfers for over 10 years. Only the chapter specific boxes comes with those chapters transfers. This is nothing new.
I got two sets for Christmas, and it came with Ultrasmurfs, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, and Raptors. I’m glad it comes with a decent amount, but I wish it came with more.
An Intercession squad is my next build! I normally play Dark Angels, but I want to do a different chapter for my Kill Team. I haven’t decided which one though.
@@Theimaginextguy yeah, especially because the chapters (other than death watch and grey knights) have no effect in kill team. you can in regular 40k too but you’d have to play as generic space marines rule wise and you wouldn’t be able to play unique models like lion el’johnson or deathwing knights
I love it!! I'm currently in the middle of painting my White Scars Intercession kill team. I saw that I had enough models to give myself some options. They look super thematic and I tried to stay lower accurate. I can't wait to get them done and start playing with them! I plan on doing a Salamanders kill team and a Astral Knights kill team.
I have a bunch of individual Marines made for a handful of my favorite chapters. They still need painting 😅, only got 2 finished lol. Going to finish them all to decide on a kill team. And I kind of want those projects finished before opening Into the Dark.
Great video, IFs in green? Looking forward to it. For the time being to get my squad ready as quickly as possible I built one sgt model that could pass for both an intercessor with bolt rifle and power weapon and assault intercessor with hvy bolt pistol and power weapon; using an old 2nd edition plastic bolter from the bits box to suggest some kind of mastercrafted carbine along with a WHFB glade guard sword conversion to create a gladiatorial style gladius or xiphos. Int sgt - reclusium blessed bolts, firing twice, hitting on +2s / int alt sgt - tilt shield, fighting twice, hitting on +2s, lethal +5.
After a year in the hobby I'm looking for something new to come away from 40k. Kill Team and this guide look the perfect way to go! Thanks...now to choose a faction away from my usual Ravenguard!🐻
New to KT and the 40k history, but are the Intercessors meant to be Primaris figures, or can Firstborn figures on the correct size bases (28mm) be part of this Kill Team as well? The stat cards don't have any Primaris keywords, so I'm leaning towards both are considered "official".
Build myself a heavy interceptor team on 32mm bases as regular intercessors. Then an emperors champion as my grenadier agressor. Put on some custom resin backpacks and shoulder packs. I just love the feeling of these small teams that can be highly customised
Can a kill team be kitbashed with the new Horus Heresy firstborn Marine kits? Meaning available bits across the range, enough to make at least one of each unit that stand out?
You can build the Sergeant with power sword and plasma pistol, and definitely 5 x tactical marines warriors. I think you will miss having the gunner and head gunner options, so adding some of the weapon kits would be a good idea.
I've been playing single games to get the hang of all the new rules. I'm not sure what I'll be using for the roster building yet but will definitely do a video for that when I get there!
For tmy sergeant, I cut the hand off one of the arms that had an open hand and then glued a power weapon leftover from my tactical squad box. So my sergeant has a bolt pistol in his right hand, hist bolt rifle over his shoulder and is holding his power weapon over his head with his left arm. He just loves weapons, I guess.
Hi. So what are the rules to build kill team? I thought for Intercessors squad you can only use 1 sreargant (regular or assault), gunner, grenadier and rest fill up with warriors up to 6 models top. Am I missing something?
hey lee ive been on wahpedia for the list of wargear and operatives i can take but there is no gunner on there what can i take operative wise for my intersessor KT?
I'm planning on making a lamenters kill team and I don't know what I should do for the sergeant. I don't know what melee weapon to give him, I'm giving him both loadouts so I can either make him an assault sergeant or a regular intercessor sergeant Any advice would help me so much, thank you for the great content and video
Lamenters sound awesome. I choose with the rule of cool. With my Imperial Fists, the Sergeant has a fist because it fits the narrative and I think looks good. I'ts not the best, because it's harder to hit but I'm not bothered about that. To give you the flexibility, you could sling a bolt rifle over the shoulder and then choose your favourite melee weapon to arm them with, even add a pistol too. Even if you don't use the pistol for the regular Intercessor, it'll look cool. Alternatively you could put a weapon like a chainsword on the belt. The Blood Angels characters seem to have a lot of axes and power swords so maybe go with that to tie in with the successor chapter narrative? You can use either of these with the Power Weapon stat line. I like that one because the Lethal 5+ special rule is nice, and you can hit on a 2+ for Assault Intercessor Sergeant or 3+ for Intercessor Sergeant. The Hammer gets stun which is ok but I'm not a fan personally, and it's 3+/4+ to hit. I've been thinking about Blood Angels and Ultra Marines as my next kill teams because I used to play Space Crusade, and it would be so cool to have all 3 looking like the Amiga game. Axes would look epic on the Blood Angels then I'll probably give swords to my Ultramarines.
@@tabletopskirmishgames thank you for the information, I've decided to give him a power sword. I was thinking of giving him a thunder hammer but with the pose the sword looks cooler and better, I'm planning on making all of the units look like veterans, sculpting on tabards and giving them alot of decorations on their armour I've even given the sergant a back banner to try and do some free hand work
Yo! Just curious, did you drop warcry Heart of Ghur? I saw you made on video after you built the trees, did I miss a video of you painting the terrain and the warbands?
I got carried away with an Imperial Fists army then Kill Team 🤣 I do have the trees primed and ready to paint and will circle back to it. The warbands I’ll probably sell, though.
@@tabletopskirmishgames I see. Regarding the warbands, I understand, they are not the best ones they come up with... Though the rotmire one might be interesting to paint
Not sure why you would go for the stalker for the auto bolt in a team of 6? Stalker is heavy so you can’t move and shoot, so having 2 of them would make you pretty immobile no? It does give you AP1, but reckon the movement would be better? 🤔
Its a narrative choice and snipers are my favourite characters to play. Also play the imperial fists so I like the idea of a defensive line of heavy shooters. They work well holding objectives in their half of the board and shooting twice each activation puts pressure into the enemy. But in Gallowdark they might not be as effective for sure.
@@tabletopskirmishgames Interesting! Shooting twice on AP1 is actually pretty good. Makes up for the lack of mobility. Get one or two of those in a vantage point and that could be deadly, especially against something like Gellerpox on a regular board. Might have to rethink my roster now! 🤣
I like playing them as Imperial Fists so the heavy hitters holding the back side of the board fit the narrative. Found they are good to hold objectives and shoot twice. Be interesting to see how they play in Gallowdark, though. Maybe not so good 🤣
So annoying that it only comes with ultra marine transfer sheet... Space marine boxes use to come with transfer sheets like a bunch of chapters
Couldn't agree more.
