Baldwin is so proud of not knowing anything about gun safety by being one of those people who think the only way to be safe with a gun is to not own one.
Yet guns are incorporated into many of his roles. Check out Will Smith, George Clooney, Tom Cruise and others about gun safety. They learned basic safety and all have demonstrated how to be safe even with a prop gun.

I was gonna comment the same. I know Anthony knows weapons, and as I expected his break down of modern handgun safety mechanisms vs. revolvers is accurate and explained well. It’s pretty simple, yet most people know zero about how any of this works, even on an elementary level.

Other people have loaded guns or borrowed and played with guns from others and returned them loaded and caused deaths before. Children have died all the time playing with their parents guns, or just showing it off.
Unless you’re an actor that was handed a gun that was supposed to be checked by other people on a movie set. It’s pretty clear actors are not the ones responsible for checking guns on set.

Well, there are people on set for safety and they handle props, like the gun itself. It was a real gun, but a prop to the actor. They handle it for the actor. I know people like to conveniently forget about that. The safety person didn't really know what they were doing and alec baldwin doesn't seem like that much of an expert. He failed a lot of safety guidelines and so did the safety person on the set. Do you think a high paid hollywood actor supplies his own gun and bullets and loaded it himself with rounds he purchased because hes out shooting all the time?

A Hollywood 'gun trope' that has done more to convince the public to be 'anti-gun' is the movie gun that goes off when dropped.
A family member actually said to me that it was unsafe to have guns in her house because "what if it falls over and goes off".
This comes from Hollywood movies and Anthony is right-on about this: It's nearly impossible with any modern guns. It just doesn't happen.
Funny thing is - you will undoubtedly hear about murders (you can find some on YT) where the shooter (usually a wife) reports that "the gun accidentally went off" and this immediately tells police they have a good foul play case to investigate since they know that almost NEVER happens. Likewise, people admitted to hospitals claiming 'they dropped the gun and it went off' are quickly flagged for self-harm/suicide attempts because, again, its almost impossible with modern-era guns.
IF the NRA ever wanted to 'deconvert' millions of gun control types of voters - they could simply do a big public education campaign on just that single fear alone. Debunk that, show its Hollywood and even play those gun manufacturer videos where they purposely safety test their own guns by loading them and repeatedly dropping the over and over from many heights, surfaces etc.

Sig Sauer had a $15 million dollar lawsuit recently, due to design/manufacturing flaws present in the Sig P320 pistol, supposedly being dropped was enough to cause the pistol to discharge.
It was fixed immediately though, and nobody was killed by this.

Alec is going for his Academy Award performance before his largest audience ever, since his freedom and wealth is at stake, I'll bet he hired experts, in various fields, to create a performance that would appear genuine and sincere, using phycological techniques that appeals to our sense of empathy and compassion. There are many unsolved mysteries within our universe but Alec not aiming the gun at the victim and both cocking the hammer and then pulling the trigger, just AIN'T one of them.
