I'm actually kinda torn on it now. I really want that sweet, sweet divinity charge shenanigans. But that would also mean giving up either my fire resist/ damage buff or my extra attack from warlock. It's pretty tough.

There is a more sneaky set of armour in the game that gives Fire shield, it's a medium armour set of Flaming Fist armour that you have to steal in their quarters more or less, i've always consitantly snuck my way into where that is to steal it because it's pretty good armour.
Edit, It's the Flame Enamelled Armour.

I understand going with Tempest Domain here, it fits the build and is very good, but given Tiamat's evil alignment, I think that War Domain would also fit. This would allow you to use your bonus action to make a weapon attack three times per day, or add a +10 to your attack rolls once per short rest. They both have their advantages.

I like the version I am using at moment. 5 lvl cleric / 7 level sorcerer. I roleplay the light domain as a fire domain of tiamat. The 7 levels in frost draconic sorcerer allows me a few good ice spells and armor of agathys so its nice. Oh and I chose black dragongorn so a little bit of acid haha 🙂 I struggle with evil character so I go for a grey roleplay. When I have powers or items to gain, I take the evil option. For the rest, I can be a nice character.

I almost want to suggest a "Five Fangs of Tiamat" themed set based off this, where each focuses soley on exploiting their one element. Buuut I know you have enough elemental builds that'll easily cover those bases already.
However..! It might not be a bad idea to (eventually) make a set of dragonborn builds themed after each of their dragon types more specific d&d lore. Like Green and Blue multiclassed as land druids of the swamps and deserts they lve in, or metallic dragons with themes combining their personality and element with each's unique nonlethal disabling breath weapon.
    I dunno, mite b cool.

Love the build, but I had some gripes about it that I fixed for my version of it.
Levels and character creation are exactly the same, so still getting black dragonborn with red draconic sorcerer.
It really bothered me that you really only included 3 of the 5 heads of Tiamat with fire, lightning, and cold damage. Not counting the acid breath because that's just going to be powercrept before the end of act 1.
I changed the itemization and it came to these items:
    Coldbrim Hat
    Robes of the Weave
    Cloak of Derivation
    Broodmother's Revenge
    The Watersparkers
    The Sparkswall
    Caustic Band
    Ichorous Gloves
    Darkfire Bow
    Hellfire Greataxe
So the idea here was to make the green and black heads of Tiamat more present while also buffing the acid damage from the black dragonborn breath.
Firstly, the Caustic Band dealing acid damage is a nice buff to the martial section of the build with adding 2 more damage to each swing. The Ichorous Gloves will trigger with each swing, inflicting Noxious Fumes onto the victims and deal some minor AOE with poison damage. But because Noxious Fumes is a condition, that will trigger the Coldbrim Hat and inflict even more cold damage because we applied a condition onto an enemy, making that enemy take 2-10 damage on their turn.
Broodmother's Revenge we can activate by casting Ray of Sickness onto an enemy and poisoning them, which will trigger the Coldbrim Hat and apply Encrusted with Frost, but also trigger the Derivation Cloak and heal ourselves. But then the heal will trigger Broodmother's Revenge and imbue our weapon with an extra 1d6 poison damage for 2 turns.
Best combos to do with these changes are as follows:
1 Swing the Hellfire Greataxe twice and generate 4 turns of heat. Use Heat Convergence and Quickened Spell to make a Fireball practically up casted.
    2. Quickened Spell Ray of Sickness to apply Poison to an enemy. Trigger on Deprivation Cloak, trigger on Broodmother's Revenge and imbue a weapon that now has +1d6 poison added on. Swing twice and apply Noxious Fumes and generate Heat.
    3. Quickened Spell Create Water. Cast Hunger of Hadar over the water and go inside. Devil's Sight will provide immunity to blindness and we will be resistant to both halves of the damage. Enemies hit by Create Water will be Wet and take x2 damage from the Cold damage of Hunger of Hadar. If they fail a Constitution Saving Throw, they take Acid damage and that will trigger Ichorous Gloves, applying Noxious Fumes to each entity that fails the saving throw. If we succeed the saving throw against the acid damage, Robes of the Weave will trigger and heal us. Healing will trigger Broodmother's Revenge and imbue our weapon attacks with Poison. Starting a turn on the water will also trigger The Watersparkers and imbue us with Lightning Charges and further increases our attacks accuracy and damage. Also applies Electrified to enemies, which will trigger the Coldbrim Hat and inflict Encrusted with Frost.
Thermodynamic Axe attacks will be imbued with:
    +2 Acid (Caustic Band)
    +1d4 Fire (Drakethroat Glaive)
    +1d6 Poison (Broodmother's Revenge)
    Stats:
    8 Strength
    14 Dexterity
    16 Constitution
    8 Intelligence
    10 Wisdom
    17 Charisma (18 with Hag's Hair)
    Feats:
    1. Ability improvement (+2 Charisma)
    2. Warcaster (helps with keeping Haste on ourselves and allies.)

    • @NewAge374
      @NewAge374 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

This is a very neat write-up, thanks for the effort! Have you tested this in-game and if so, did it fare according to your predicted combos?
I wonder if the Hellfire Greataxe gets imbued correctly with poison since a note on the wiki page says that it is not dippable.
I would say your build is more of a passive control sorcerer, stacking several conditions with the items. That also makes it have a weakness: when does it come online? And before it does, what items and playstyle is recommended?

    • @kindalllowder3595
      @kindalllowder3595 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@NewAge374 Sadly, had to make some changes, but for the better now. The axe sadly had to go because no dipping, but I was able to find a replacement in the Thermodynamic Axe in Act 2. That one will now be enchanted with fire attacks from the Drakethroat Glaive. Also choosing fire because heat convergence works on all sources of fire.
The cloak has been replaced with the Fleshmelter Cloak, allowing us to apply acid damage upon taking damage, potentially triggering the Ichorous Gloves.
The Coldbrim Hat wasn't cutting it, so instead I am now running the Helm of Balduran for more reliable healing and Broodmother's Revenge triggers by extension.
With the now available off-hand slot, I threw in the Absolute's Protector. Turns out, Fire Shield: Cold and Armor of Agathys can stack, making any attackers take:
      1d4 acid (Fleshmelter Cloak)
      2d8 cold (Fire Shield: Cold)
5 cold and +5 more for each upcast (Armor of Agathys)
Clothing is also now being swapped out for the Armor of Resistance. Might as well stack the resistances while we can.
As far as when it comes online, that depends on your definition. It has many power spikes, with the first one technically being level 2 since we would gain access to Create/Destroy Water with Cleric. Another spike as soon as we acquire Warlock for Dark One's Blessing. Basically all the warlock levels provide some sort of increased power spike, level 5 being the most notable. Character levels 8-10 start to mellow out a bit, but Quickened Spell brings lots of combos to light. The final spike is not until level 12 with the increased fire damage. Even in the early acts, the build is not bad all things considered, but would need some support from other party members to pull through.

    • @kindalllowder3595
      @kindalllowder3595 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      UPDATE
The new build is working flawlessly. AC has spiked with the Armor of Resistance. I will now state the combos I have been using.
      Dragon's Maw
A more control heavy combo, best used to isolate a boss and take them head on while the rest of the party takes care of their minions.
Cast Hunger of Hadar and Quickened Spell Create Water (try to not hit yourself with water) over the boss and then go inside. This will electrify the water and give the target vulnerability to Cold and Lightning. The target will have movement quartered thanks to hunger of Hadar and take double cold damage at the start of their turn. Target will also be blinded and have disadvantage on attack rolls. Target will be shocked from the now electrified water and be unable to take reactions. May take further damage with our attack rolls and Acid damage from a failed save against Hunger of Hadar. We will likely be left alone by any outside entities due to Hunger of Hadar being a form of Darkness. Armor of Resistance stacks with our Cold and Acid resistance to make us take 0 damage from either half of Hunger of Hadar. We also get an additional 3 Lightning Charges for each turn we start on water, adding more lightning damage to our weapon attacks (which gets amped up with the Wet condition!)
      Chromatic Fury: Red
Good for burst damage and multiple target blasting. Can be done reliably if we pray to Tiamat for her boon (additional +2 to all saving throws.)
Cast Haste onto ourselves (and an ally if you have the spare sorcery points for twined spell.) Use main weapon attack with our remaining action to get 4 turns of heat from the axe. Next turn, attack 4 times using both actions. Use Quickened Spell and Heat Convergence to cast a Fireball. A level 3 fireball will now deal:
      8d6 (Base)
      +6 (Draconic Ancestry)
      +7 (Heat Convergence)
Level 3 Fireball is now dealing the same damage as a Level 5 Fireball from any other class.
Armor of Resistance stacks with Fire Resistance to make us almost immune to fire damage. Makes it viable to take out larger groups of enemies surrounding us.
      Chromatic Fury: Blue
Usually used at the start of combat to take out long lines of enemies. Especially useful if said enemies are fire resistant.
Cast Haste onto ourselves. Quickened Spell Create Water onto our targets. Cast Lightning Bolt for x2 damage. Get close and stand on the water. Next turn, we will get 4 attacks, each imbued with +3 Lightning damage from our acquired Lighting Charges. They will each do x2 damage if our targets are wet. If we are still on water by turn 3 and our targets are still alive, we will get another +3 Lightning Charges, bringing us to 5 Charges total (these charges will detonate the next time we attack at +5). Start this turn by casting another Lightning Bolt to maximize damage output. Our Lightning Charges will detonate, dealing +1d8 to all enemies we hit with this attack. If they are wet, it will instead do (+1d8) x2.
      Chromatic Fury: White
A very simple combo and can be prepared before an encounter. Works best if we intend to soak damage.
Cast Armor of Agathys. Cast Fire Shield: Chill. Now run around and provoke opportunity attacks.
      Final Results:
      8 Strength
      14 Dexterity
      16 Constitution
      8 Intelligence (6 in total)
      10 Wisdom
      17 Charisma (22 in total)
      AC 23
All damage received reduced by 2 (Armor)
      Resistance to Fire (Darkfire Bow)
      Resistance to Lightning (Sparkswall)
      Resistance to Cold (Darkfire Bow)
      Resistance to Acid (Dragonborn)
      Resistance to Slashing (Armor)
      Resistance to Piercing (Armor
      Resistance to Bludgeoning (Armor)
Passive +1d4 to all saving throws (Armor)
Passive +2 to all saving throws (Pray to Tiamat)
      +1 Charisma (Auntie Ethel's Hair)
      -2 Intelligence (Mirror of Loss)
      +2 Charisma (Mirror of Loss)
      Feats: Ability Improvement (+2 Charisma)
      Warcaster
      Gear:
      Helm of Balduran
      Armor of Resistance
      Fleshmelter Cloak
      Ichorous Gloves
      The Watersparkers
      Broodmother's Revenge
      The Sparkswall
      Caustic Band
      Darkfire Bow
      Absolute's Protector
Thermodynamo Axe (enchanted with Drakethroat Glaive [fire] and Pact Weapon)

@@NewAge374 I totally forgot to mention different play styles in the game, lol.
      Levels 1-4:
Play as a typical blaster, getting a small power spike with agonizing blast and Devil's Sight from Warlock. Can occasionally use Create Water to setup for Chromatic Orb: Cold/Lightning.
      Levels 5-7:
Able to do some support on the frontline with Darkness, Devil's Sight, and Pact of the Blade. Deepened Pact will be the last of the Warlock levels, and Dark One's Blessing will allow us to shift from Blaster to Frontliner/Controller tank. Swap out Darkness for Hunger of Hadar and acquire Fireball now to do some occasional blasting/heat convergence. Chug health potions to utilize Broodmother's Revenge.
      Levels 8-10:
Level up Sorcerer from here on out. Grab Shield to help with fronlining. Metamagic choices will be the standard Twinned Spell, Distant Spell, and Quickened Spell. Can potentially swap Distant Spell for Careful Spell if you are worried about hitting your teammates. Choose warcaster as your feat. Will play similarly to previous levels, fronlining with some control. Can get started on combos, but I wouldn't recommend it until warcaster is required so we can keep Haste for as long as possible.
      Levels 11-12:
Grab Haste and Lightning Bolt. Acquire 10K Gold to purchase the Armor of Resistance (banking quest will give you 10K if you choose to not return it.) Acquire 4K Gold to give to Tiamat at the Stormshore Temple and pray daily for Tiamat's Boon. We can now reliably cast concentration spells without fear of losing concentration. Dark One's Blessing+resistances+magical plate will keep us very healthy and alive for the duration of many battles. Can play as a Frontline/Controller or Frontline Blaster.
I will post results of this build here after each boss confrontation.
Ansur was difficult. Triple resistance to Poison, Acid, and Lightning made it hard to do lots of damage to him. Could not tank his attacks for long and water myrmidons made Fire damage halved. Dragon's Maw combo was not useful as Ansur would just fly out of it.Relied heavily on Twinned Haste for myself and Wyll (Padlock.) Tanked initial Lighting Storm attack thanks to resistance, but Karlach and Shadowheart both died. Double hasted Eldritch spam thankfully did just enough and got the Crash Landing achievement. Did not have Armor of Resistance yet and didn't have a lot of minions to feed on.
Took on Act 3 Ethel and was able to stay above 80 health even after she revived. Dragon's Maw combo isolated her and prevented her from casting her Coven spell. Armor of Resistance and Tiamat's Boon helped keep concentration.
Viconia was a little more tricky. Was able to keep her from casting more spells after using Dragon's Maw. Had Wyll (Critical Padlock) use Misty Step and teleport next to her within the Maw. Used Critical Smite combo to nuke her down (Wyll somehow died in the process.) Shadowheart got unlucky and was critical hit to death. Karlach and I cleaned up the rest of the room, staying at a healthy 70. Was not level 12 yet so didn't have access to Red Fury. Passed every Constitution save. Am now Level 12, so next boss we will try Red Fury.
Steel Watch Foundry and Steel Titan were a breeze. Plenty of minions to feast on before the boss fight and kept at max HP with some temporary HP to boot. Red Fury combo cleaned house against Banites and Blue Fury against Steel Watchers. Dragon's Maw combo once again was not helpful due to Steel Watchers being able to see through it. Setup for Red Fury combo (Twinned onto Wyll) while Shadowheart (Battle Master Light Cleric) setup with Moonmote and applied 10 stacks of Radiant Orb (in hindsight could have instead used Commander's Strike on Wyll or myself for even more Red Fury.) Wyll went and used all spell slots To take down the Titan. Red Fury was not fast enough to keep up pace with Critical Smite combo (btw paralyze doesn't work on constructs) but was had a reliable +13 damage to all fireballs. Blue Fury could have been good, but Watchers kept getting saving throws.
Gortash was a joke. Started off with a Twinned Chromatic Orb: Lightning to take out the constructs in the back that would power him up. Quickened Spell Haste onto self and generated 4 turns of heat to setup Chromatic Fury: Red. Got additional chip in the form of Noxious Fumes. Unfortunately, I think I will have to retry this fight because Wyll keeps killing everything with the Critical Smite combo before I can really test/showcase. After Gortash died before getting a second turn, the rest of the room was easy, with the only real challenge being moving inside the fear auras.

Tiamat is a 5 headed dragon (I think)? You could literally use 4/5 levels of ranger to get nice support spells and additional resistances.
white, black, green, blue, and red : ice, acid, poison, lightning and fire. It would be **Extra** thematic to be resistant to the fives types of elements that the five dragon heads of Tiamat represents.
A ranger covers 2/5, simply using a feat and 6 levels of ranger and being a dragonborn, means you have coverage of 4/5 heads of tiamat, so you should just be able to do 6/5/1 ranger/dragon sorcerer/cleric means without items you have resistance to that which represents:
white, black, green, blue, and red~

I feel I should point out that different sources of temp HP don't stack, only the largest one is applied. You mention later in the video when talking about the Potent Robes that you have a lot of sources of temp HP and, yeah, if it all gets removed by enemies before the next bit is applied, it could be some decent damage mitigation, but if you're using AoA already then the other two sources won't have any effect.
