I love your Halloween builds and I'm using them on one of my playthrough. However, it was too many monks for me so for Karlach I went with Barbarian/Cleric, which can definitely seems weird but the idea is to get warding bond from the cleric and lots of resistance from the bear rage. Tempest cleric get me heavy armor, and the lightning reaction that fits the build, even though War cleric gives additional bonus actions that can be strong for a barbarian. It's less on theme than yours but I see me as the mad scientist that created a strong monster to take the damage for me. I would love to get your thoughts on this :) I'm playing a dark urge necromancer surrounded by Shadowolf, Mummy Laezel and my version of Karlachstein. Story-wise, I snapped Laezel's neck after sleeping with her (like you can do with Minthara), and then experimented on her to revive her - she ended up as a mummy. I recruited a vulnerable Shadowheart werewolf by deception and manipulation and I created a Karlach monster from scratch. That was my debut as a necromancer, followed by Necromancy of Thay, and then later true necromancy (spore druid 6, necro wizard 6).

Crazy that you don't mention that you get sneak attack guaranteed each turn as long as you move your invisible hand next to your target😮😮😮

For those that still want to play this build, you can ignore everything about concentration he talked about it in the video since there is a method to get shadowblade permanent (yes, permanent!) Get the ring>use the ring with a hireling>talk to withers to dismiss the hireling>get THE SAME hireling from before and the blade you be there (you can repeat this method for how many weapons you want) using this you can concentrate on another more useful spell.

I like the sorcerer flavoring from a lore perspective. I actually made a list of what each of the origin characters would be if not their preset classes. For Gale, I figured he would be a warlock. He may try to regain his magic via a deal with a magic entity. I was thinking he would probably make it with a genie but if using the available subclasses then I would say Pact of the Archfey. He would probably try to beat an archfey in a game of wits to reclaim some of his lost magic. And he would certainly take Pact of the Tome in order to reacquire as many spells as possible. For drama he may have gone to Mephistopheles or a Great Old One but an archfey makes more sense since he would know how overtly dangerous those patrons could be.

Gotta say, I love these Origin builds. I think the way I would roleplay Wyll is that, yes he kills Karlach. But that ends up being a catalyst of sorts for Wyll to think "maybe I've been blinded by my desire to be a hero that I haven't bothered to know the difference between good and bad." And he then has to live with this decision (especially in Honour Mode) for the rest of the campaign, only following Mizora's orders long enough afterwards to weasel out of the Pact. And of course choosing between saving his father and severing his Pact (I mean, it is possible to do both, but ya know...)

So, I am very excited to see this build. My very first BG3 Tav was actually a Paladin/Barbarian multiclass, so I can attest to just how powerful this combo can be, regardless of the exact level breakdown. Mine was a Half-Orc 8 Ancients Paladin/4 Wildheart Barbarian (Wolf Heart). Extremely powerful and VERY tanky. Brought my STR and CHA naturally up to 18, brought DEX to 18 with the Gloves of Dexterity and CON to 23 with the Amulet of Health. With the Armor of Agility and Viconia’s Walking Fortress, I had a base AC of 27, with the Blood of Lathander and Titanstring Bow making me a MONSTER at melee and range, with my Rage helping minimize the damage I took from the through times I was actually hit on top of the Shield Master Feat. Plus, since I had a very melee focused party, with romanced companion Karlach usually up front with me, the Wolf Heart really helped with the advantage it gave me and my companions. So, not the exact same breakdown as yours, Hobo, but again, just goes to show how powerful combining Paladin and Barbarian can be.

Just wanted to say this while this was great! Thanks for all the work and effort you put into these. For us it’s just relaxation, something to brighten our day on a break from work, but the effort you put into this shows and is incredible. Thank you so much!

Idk if you’ve ever done this but a black knight build who is a protector tank for his allies “None shall pass” kinda vibe who makes use of the really great synergy between polarm master, sentinel and great weapon master along with relentless avenger from vengeance paladin and maybe incorporating taunts as well as the protection amulet and the halberd of vigilance. I’d love to see what you’d come up with if you haven’t built that already

It's honestly not surprising in the least that you wound up using so few feats; with them being at such a premium, yet the game math assuming you have a 20 attack stat by level 12, a feat without any ASI needs to be incredible, or it'll get overlooked 90% of the time. Why I've been following the various 2024 5e mods with interest, as having the option of both origin feats (even if they're not as strong as general feats) and every general feat giving a +1 ASI, is exciting for its potential to shake up build standards. For one, it pushes a starting 17 in your best stat as by far the best choice, as it opens up your feat options way more; 3 +1 feats, or a +1 to your main, a +1 to something else (maybe rounding out a 15 to 16) and +2 ASI to main, or +1 feat, +2 ASI for the 2 feat builds that normally are stuck taking ASI only unless they go hag hair or a stat boosting item.

As a diehard Ranger fan, I would love to see more Ranger builds. They're pretty versatile!

Now this is different, but in a good way. I too am kind of surprised that Warlock is so low on the list. And also, glad to hear that you are planning to make builds based on Ganondorf AND John Constantine, they might help increased the Warlock count, at least that's what I think at least one of the classes for those characters would be.

Before i watch the video, i'll take a guess and say that paladin is the most used. Edit: well i was very much wrong 😂 I really like beast master ranger, i like having an animal pet and fighting alongside them. I wish it would work better when multiclassing.. Im excited to see some more barbarian synergies. Like you said with the four elements monk, i cant seem to make it work. Also the warlock ranger, an eldritch ranger :0

if you looked at the total number of levels that you took a class for in each build, rather than the number of builds that took at least one level, you'd get a measure for frequency that also accounted for the difference between dips and straight classing
