As the engine/transmission got more powerful and better, the body became more delicate and the interior became more delicate and flimsier. The starter comes off via the back of the front tire. The third row seats didn't come off easily.
100%. I think they nailed the look, keeping it classic in some aspects and modern at the same time. It’s slightly on the “bubbly” side compared to other LC models, but looks even better in person.
I have a 2013 LX570 with 215k miles and have never had to do anything other than oil/tire changes. That said, my rear panel pops out underneath the mirror like yours. Just pop it back in when I notice it. No idea why it does that. Congrats on the purchase! They’re not easy to find.
I have a 2013 LX570 with 215k miles and I only have 3 complaints. 1. Tire pressure monitoring system has an error, so the maintenance light can’t be turned off. Its not worth the $600 fix 2. The cover to the usb charging port won’t stay down. 3. Backup camera is always dirty. Something about the aerodynamics pulls dirt and water straight up to it. If that is all that I have to deal with on a 200k mile vehicle, I’m sold for life.
only reason i subscribed, I am just a local Dallas Cruiser head. Great find. 2 of my friends have 21's Heritage editions. My wife's sequoia has the 5.7 and has almost over 230k. Valley leak are common coolant leak which are hard to see and find. just check your coolant every 5k.
I absolutely love the Land Cruiser and have always dreamed of owning one. Right now, I have a 2016 GX 460 with 90,000 miles. It’s black, which isn’t ideal for living in Phoenix, and that’s the main reason I’m even considering a change. I’d love to finally get a Land Cruiser, but the prices just don’t seem to make sense to me. Maybe I’m overthinking it and need to stop hesitating and go for it!
Good looking truck brother I’m in the Fort Worth area myself and purchased a 200 2 months ago. Had to go to nw Arkansas to pick it up but she’s a 2020 and had 36000 on her when we purchased so when the truck is right it’s worth the venture…. Hope she suites you well
If I had garage space I'd buy all the 2020 gx460s that I could get my hands on. Will double in price over the next 20 years. Ik this is land cruiser but they are slight overvalued imo.
I've been looking at 2006/07 100 series/LX470s and for about the same price and sometimes even lower, you can get a 2008/09 200 series/LX570. I think the market for these is actually going down. People are still thinking you can sell an 80 series for $20K+ Buying sight unseen is kinda tricky...I've been looking.
I have a 17 LC too. I had the steering wheel re wrapped at a local upholstery shop. It was like 500 bucks. Money well spent. Oem toyota steering wheel leather on these vehicles are garbage. We love our LC!
Actually the steering wheel leather is a design fault problem. Replaced my steering wheel at 88K on my 2016 and at that time I didn’t realize that it had the heated wheel option. So hadn’t been used. Bulletproof vehicles and yours is just getting broken in!
I also just picked up a 2016 LC200 at 112k miles. First time owning one after hearing the cult like attraction to this vehicle, now I see why! One question --- where are the front and rear floor jack points (surmise it's the center differentials but I read the rear axel housing is where you gotta becareful)? Manual has the standing jack points.
Hey man congrats on the 200 series! Im also in DFW and i own a 2015 200 series with only light mods. I got a front and rear ARB bumper on it. These vehicles are an absolute beast! How many miles does yours have?
Idk why I just don’t like the little bit of the delay on the ignition and I like the analog feel of turning a key. Just personal preference that means nothing
Nice trench gun! Land Cruiser not so much. I had at the same time a 2013 with 140K and a 2021 we bought brand new. The 2013 had water pump and radiator replaced and very costly timing chain cover oil, leak fixed thank goodness it wasn’t the cam towers. Recently sold it with the driver review mirror motor retract not working because the estimate to repair that was $2,300. The 2021 had crazy scary brake fade/wobble that was never diagnosed that would occur going down a local pass unloaded not towing. I swore I would never sell either of those cars but after hours of owning our first Ineos Grenadier I just assume throw Rocks at the Land Cruisers. Now have two Grenadiers and a Quartermaster on order, better on road and way better off.
@ Ya, didn’t preorder one because of those concerns, but 1.8 million kilometers of testing sales over nearly three years in other markets around the world and the extensive track record on the B 58 BMW engine I became convinced its worth the risk and after owning one for nearly a year now, wheeling and accessorizing and road tripping it is everything I hoped and more. The second Grenadier we bought was $66K out the door, no lockers, but it’s still very capable with an awesome transfer case and “off-road” mode traction control works well but requires a little getting use to.
@@SaltShack Very nice! Just out of curiosity, did you do your own maintenance on your cruisers? I can't picture repairing a mirror to cost $2,300, but then again I don't know the cost of the part(s) you needed.
@@shootandcruise Yes and no. Things I could do by myself I would but that $2,300 Estimate was for the dealer to install. Parts was the vast majority, in fact I don’t think it was more than an hour of labor. The explanation I got for it being so expensive was the camera cable and interface as the entire mirror had to be replaced, no motor , gear parts available. I’m sure there is a solution after market or used but just I chose to disable the motor. If it had just broke that would have been fine but every time you turn the car on the motor would run and pop and grind for 30 seconds until it timed out. Cutting power to the motor but not the camera was a real trick but necessary so the camera would still function and not throw a bunch fault codes and crap. Long story short a side mirror motor and camera was a hassle after 7 years of use and Ineos chose among other things a simpler older school mirror. It still adjusts from inside and even has a defroster but they eliminated one complexity at least.

Thanks for the input! I would honestly love a 70/79 series if they were available. They look and feel so old, but still being made today.
“Thanks for the input” like he’s a representative of Toyota engineering department.
A lot of people don’t like the plain look of Land Cruisers but I love the simplicity and RELIABILITY.
just subbed because you started the intro with the gun. something bout us gun guys and toyotas! me and my dad have 24' 4runner offroads
Yeah guns and Toyotas are two peas in a pod

Solid vehicle for sure. Toyota knows what they’re doing.
I love my 21 Land Cruiser. I also had a 05 100 series and I misss her everyday.

Thanks man. Here’s to many more miles! 🍻
$42K for a vehicle with 141K miles just seems crazy to me.
So mine had 100k on it. I got it for $41,000. The one I looked at one year prior had 143k miles and they wanted $52,000.
Crazy cheap!!!!!!
Just broke in. Nice ride. Wish I had bought one before they made the new trash fake Land Cruiser
It's a land cruiser. 140k miles to it is like 30k miles
It is like 80K here in China for 200K KMs.
I love my 1990 HDJ81, I wish Toyota would bring back the 80 series. It can’t be beat.
Man an HDJ80 would be prime
I just picked up a 17 with 40k miles for $59k in August. Love it.
40k nice! She’s got a long life ahead of her
Thats a hell of a deal!
Thanks man! I wouldn't own one without that deal.
