The way I figure if you can get a possible 30hp out of the engine then the bearings should survive. I will be using the engine for my trackless train project. I believe I can get 5lbs of boost out of the air pump though. I am using the engine becaue of how smooth it runs and the way it looks too. Eye candy.
I just picked up a generator that has a 4a032-2 engine from 1968 attached to it Continental Motors make and can't find much information about it especially the generator
One question I have is I have a battery terminal cable coming off of the starter as well as one coming off of the frame and have no idea what these are supposed to be attached to I'm guessing maybe they had a battery hooked up to it somehow? It only has 46 hours of original run time on it and the gasoline and it smells like it's from the 60s
@24preacherboy Definitely keep me posted on that build! Propane would be an excellent fuel, it has an octane equivalent of around 110, if you can make 10lbs of boost you would probably be at about 25HP. I'm curious about the rod bearings surviving, they are aluminum and non-pressurized lubrication, but if it lives, you may be on to something. I was thinking about a very tiny turbocharger for mine, they actually make a mitsubushi TD-01 turbo that is the size of a coke can that would be perfect!
Can you use one for a go cart? Someone in a forum said they're are made to either idle or go full speed all the time and going up and down in speed won't work? I want to buy one anyway but I'd like to use it.

I picked up one of these from a DRMO auction for $80. It looks perfect except the exhaust needs a little work. But I have a small problem. I have never used one of these and I would like to use it on a homebuilt sawmill. But I can not find out where the fuel goes into the engine. I have downloaded the manual and nothing yet. can someone please send me a video link on how to attach the fuel. My goal is to removal the governor and attach it to the sawmill. But I first have to get it cranked.
Robert Smith If you follow the fuel line back from the carb, you will see it enter a small mechanical fuel pump, I tied mine into the inlet o0f that fuel pump, you can get a better look at it if you look at my other video, I point to it there (titled 4A032 in a mini airboat) The stock engines had a godawful sheetmetal box around the cylinders that hides all the inner beauty of these engines, but in your application you will have to leave it on. I could get away without it 'cause I had it on an airboat in front of a prop, but a sawmill won't provide enough cooling without that sheetmetal. You can tie into the inlet of the fuel pump and just drill a hole in that cooling shroud out the top and route the fuel line out. protect the fuel line with hard nylon plastic sleeve so it doesn't rub through though! Route it to an external tank and you won't have any issues. One suggestion, place the tank above the engine so it will gravity prime, otherwise you will pull your brains out trying to start the thing!
Can you help me out with a question I’ve got the older model with the two points. Mine has two wires but I don’t know what coil they go to. Does the top gun go to the right or left and does the bottom one go to the right or left. If you could tell me that that would be amazing. I had it running at one point it stopped. I fucked with it. Unfortunately sorry for my French, and now I have no life

I have a 4a084 on a welder.will not start.i believe it's out of time.can someone tell me how to static time one with a magneto on it?
