    Well done! Briggs and Stratton are incredibly reliable engines. Perfect application. Can't say ive ever had a lawn mower engine failure that wasn't fuel exhaustion related.

    Really well done installation and I like your custom mods. The V-twin looks good from the cockpit and almost looks like it should have the RED cross hairs with the circle on it.

    after running lawn mowers never thought one would exist. There you go. need these parts for lawn keeping. BTW nice landing like the mowers low and slow. :)

    Beautiful little plane! Using industrial engine is a great idea, they are designed to run for hours at peak rpm (which is usually low) and are much cheaper than a Rotax" Thanks for sharing

      @@mc30it69 Thank you for the link, but I understand that's the oil thermostat in this video. The "red box" I was referring to is the electronic control unit (that you relocated behind the firewall) connected to the coils, mentioned in your video "Luciole 114 ignition". I think you once called it the "HDC ignition", but I can't locate more information. Possibly the ignition module comes from M Colomban, and he may not sell engine parts to people in the USA :(

    Remove the engine governor, put in a set of performance pistons, cam, billet rods and lightened billet flywheel and you'll get a solid, reliable 35-40hp. Then add an Ace Aviation PRSU to turn a larger prop slower and your plane will run a whole lot faster!

    Fantastic ultralight ! I like SD1, but I like Luciole more and more. It is a wonder that your engine is not undercooled, it's always open in the wind. It's very good to install a thermostat for the oil.

    nice except, the oil cooler who is in extremly unnefficient position: need a radiator with the same surface area, but low in height and wider, positioned in the direction of the air flow would be much more efficient and would allow a much prettier and more efficient fairing...

      The avionization work of the B & S Vanguard is described in detail in the M.Colomban manual. If you want to do this job I suggest you ask Colomban if you send one.
      In principle, the work to be done is as follows:
      remove the casing and the guards
      eliminate the flywheel
      eliminate the power regulation system
      move the carburetor under the engine
      install the long suction manifolds
      build the carburetor's air intake
      replace the carburetor float bowl
      install the HDC ignition, now I moved it
      or (see info Infos 28, Infos 26 2018 by mr Colomban)
      install a flange for the oil filter, now I'm building a new one
      make the tube for the heating oil of the intake manifolds
      build exhaust manifolds
      build the muffler
      build the exhaust pipe
      Lot of work! A lot of money, about 5000 euros, including the engine!
      Keep in mind that the B & S is made with a bad alloy and has very cheap mechanical solutions. In the air I'm always worried about the engine. Unfortunately there are no alternatives for Luciole.
      Actually my second engine has 300 hours. It is an 25hp engine.

    Are the copper tubes for carburetor ice prevention? If so, could the warm air from the oil cooler do the same job? Just curious. Beautiful work! When I grow up I want to be like you! P. S. I'm 63 years old.

      Thank you. No, the copper tubes are used to heat the intake manifolds. The carburetor is heated using the heat from the muffler, a classic. I'm 61. Ciao.
