Man you've taught me a lot in just the few months I've been watching your videos. I have Switchblade Silver metallic on my ride and you're giving me what I need to know. Thanks 👍
@@PaintSocietywhat is a affordable gun for spraying clear coat? Are there any mini guns that you can spray clear coat with? I ask cause I’m transitioning into doing headlight restorations and don’t need a big gun at all anymore.
@PaintSociety I've been painting for awhile always good to get a refresh on different ways to do stuff What's the purpose of mixing base with wetbed I've never seen that before, also since I'm a devilbiss guy I love that new dv1 basegun is that on the market yet?
@Paint Society I've got a job where I've repaired a few dings and some failed clear. I'm spraying a new color similar to the original I'd like to keep it as part of the color build. My question is can I use "intercoat clear" or clear base to do the same job sealer would do on those repairs to coat any small scratches or imperfections, as well as make a wet bed for the rest of the car and new basecoat I'll spray? Or should I still seal and then use clear base?
Hello from Poland! Could you show us in the next videos how we can repair our roof edge without cutting out the glass? I have rust in edges but not holes, only rust and i want to clear this as much as possible but i don't have knowledge what i need to use and i don't want to cut my glass.
Brian, thank you for describing all the detail (what to see and feel); which movies can never show (screens are small, video quality is still too low now a days). Question, using the water base and the solvent base cleaners, should we follow follow any order in particular? - THANKS!
I like to use water first because sometimes it seeps into places easier so the second application with the solvent ensures another wipe to dry the panel. Also solvent never leaves the panel streaky
I know you put clear on first coat lighter as a grip coat but is the final finish flatter and better if the first coat is in fact as wet as possible? Like as wet as the 2nd coat?
Can you explain better why you said the car isnt ready for clear if your rag stucks in the pannel? That thing happens to me and i dont know what to do, do i need to apply a wetter coat of base?
I have a question I recently did a restoration and change of color I did body work on some parts I primed all the panels with high build Primer when painted it look nice but after some days it looks like the clear coat shrink and I could see all the light scratches from the 800 grit I used to sand the primer and some Da scratches , I dint used sealer for it would that be a reason why that happen?
In regards to the back, where you just scuffed to P800 and put a fresh layer of clear over it..... I have just sourced a replacement front bumper fo my car, have sprayed it with my cars metallic metro blue, and have blended out to the front wings perfectly (first time blending metallics) My question is... Now my front bumper looks perfect and shiny.. But its noticeable, because the rest of my car has its age related little scratches here and there.... Can i P800 my entire car, and apply a fresh layer of clear of it?!?! The scratches arent deep.. Just noticeable... and i would like the rest of the car to carry the same amount of shine, that my bumper has.. cheers :)

Thank you Brian for all the tips and tris for blending, I have definitely enjoyed watching and learning.

The clear base.

Hi brian thanks again for a nice éducative vidéo.
Should i use solvant cleaner first or water base cleaner first?
I use water first

Its best to remove the glass.
hi and thank you 🙏 did you used slow hardner for your clear?

Nice
How long should the blending agent dry before spraying base?
What's the intracoat clear blending additive your using?
Hi Brian, what brand blending additive was used on this vehicle?
I know you put clear on first coat lighter as a grip coat but is the final finish flatter and better if the first coat is in fact as wet as possible? Like as wet as the 2nd coat?
Is that blending additive the same thing as wet bed?
Would you ever lay your base over the blender while it’s still wet?
Yes in cases where the color wont blend out
@@PaintSociety is that mostly with certain colors and or metallics?
@@Lawnfella yes
Question, last coat base+base transparent+slow reducer, you go till the end of the door.Does it affect the color on the edge between 2 doors? Thx
I made mention of this in the video. Turn audio up and rewatch this section. 😀😀
Awsome
is blending additive the same as clear base without any pigments?
Can you explain better why you said the car isnt ready for clear if your rag stucks in the pannel? That thing happens to me and i dont know what to do, do i need to apply a wetter coat of base?
I am trying to become a paint technician like you. Do you have any suggestions?
Dv1❤
I have an issue while blending vag LR5C yesterday. Places which blender was sprayed turn darker after applying clearcoat. Anybody can help?
Do you put the wetbed over the sealer when it's still wet?
Yes
Nice Job! How do you think the new 4600 compares to the new ws400?
Two totally different guns. Ws400 is better
Are you spraying water or solvent??

Most likely it was sanded with a much lower grit and not just the 800 at some point and thats the shrinking
@@PaintSociety can that be Prevented if I put sealer ? And I’m using the finish 1 master clear or could it be that I used a cheap clear
What is an open blend exactly...?
lol First coat of clear coat seemed pretty wet to me lol but looked good

Technically yea but you got to be so careful not to burn through the paint to the base or primer
What is an open blend
NH 561P THIS COLOR CHARCOLGRE? BY USING BLACK COLOR praimer I WILL MAKE IT HAVE A DARKER APPEARANCE.
Nh885m
? SO THAT THIS COLOR ACQUIRES A DARKER APPEARANCE, WHAT ALTERNATIVES ARE THERE.
Why didn’t you clear base over all of the sealer rather than just the edges
