    16:00 the thing that he did we call it "wai" it's a form of showing respect and the lower you "wai" to someone the higher you give respect to that person, in this case he kneel to the ground and wai him that's a maximum respect you can give to somebody :D

    Fun fact: In Thai, 'Rodtang' (รถถัง; actually it should be spelled 'rottung') literally means 'tank.' Yes, that armored military vehicle with big gun.

    every Muay Thai fighter has their second name, mostly from the gym they train. And yes you can train your chin by lifting something heavy. love the reactions bro, from Thailand

    when rodtang bow down like that to that opponent is an ultimate respect to his opponent..
    we asian only bow down to a person that’s worth respecting to like parents, uncle, buddha , and the king.

    Thai people place great emphasis on respect and Muay Thai is no different. From finishing their sentences with politeness and their pleasant greetings to kicking you in face and then inviting you out for a few beers and some karaoke they are some of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.

    You can't workout your elbows but your elbows are already deadly as fuck. Elbows cut skin and knees crush bones, that's why muay thai clinch is a very good weapon

      @@Saber23 yeah my trainer has some pointy ass elbows, but that comes with time and is not as relevant as conditioning your shins. So no one in muay thai does it, regular class usage of elbows will condition them already

    Imagine the bowing and respectful actions were just rodtangs way of saying “thank you for the pay check i got for beating you up couldn’t have done it without ya”.

    40:30 I’m surprised by you that can’t understand how Rodtang give his opponent the respect by ‘whai’ for apologizing and give him respect. This is sport they do their best to knockout their opponent and when the fight end, just respect each other. That why they smile at the end.

    This is why UFC is not that respectful sport. (In my pov) in Thailand you pray other like he was doing out of sportsmanship respect, respectively in sport and others. The fight in the ring is the game for the rich. So all these fight is for entertainment but after the bell rang it just humen to humen.

    If you're lead leg is getting destroyed, you will often see fighters switch to their opposite stance to protect that damaged leg. But that comes at a very heavy cost. There's a reason there are very few fighters in any fighting sport that can fight effectively from orthodox and southpaw stances. You see some fighters who can fight from the opposite stance for short periods of time to set up certain shots, but they rarely feel comfortable staying there for long. Even if you can fight effectively from an offensive perspective from your opposite stance, your defense is almost certainly going to be weaker from your opposite stance. Plus, if one of your legs is compromised, your movement is going to be hindered regardless of what leg you have forward so you're much easier to hit.

    Elbows thrown with an open hand are harder than if you make a fist and try to hit. You can test it out. Make a fist while feeling the bone in your elbow and forearm and you can feel that when you make a fist that the forearm muscles cover or obstruct the bones.

  • @99Steve
    @99Steve 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Elbows tend to cause a lot of cuts just based on how "boney" they are. However, there are two different ways to throw elbows. You can throw them for damage where you try to hit your opponent as directly and cleanly as possible. Or you can throw them purposefully trying to cut your opponent. This is when you throw them in a swiping motion across your opponent's skin. This motion makes less flush contact than other elbows but it is more likely to result in cuts which can possibly end the fight later on. But elbows are elbows and there's a chance they will cut your opponent's kin regardless of how you throw them. The skin above the eyebrow bridge and the scalp cuts very easily and tends to bleed a lot.

    He bowed to his opponents like any other Muay Thai athlete because of respect to another sportsman, they were fighting in a sport event not out of anger and something personal. That's why Muay Thai doesn't have that pre-fight b*tching on the mic like some skank event.

    Been training muay thai for 3 years now, with 2 real fights so far. The bowing at the end is mutual respect for entering the ring, no one feels bad about it. Muay thai is pain, and anyone who accepts that gets respect, regardless of how bad the match is.

    You can't really develop a chin. It's something you're either born with or you're not. You can do some neck exercises that some believe has a small correlation to improving your ability to withstand punishment, but it's has a minimal effect. You can improve your defense which reduces the impact that you take from punches, though. If you learn to roll with punches, even if you get hit, you might be able take a fraction of the power away from the shot by moving your head in the same direction as the punch is traveling. Obviously you don't want to get hit, but it's inevitable part of fighting even if you're a defensive master.

  • @Saber23
    @Saber23 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Well first a fighters “chin” means their durability or their ability to absorb damage and not get knocked out it doesn’t actually have to do with your literal chin but no absolutely cannot “workout” your chin, you can however condition your body and working out your neck does make it harder for people to knock you out because of the extra muscle you pack on, however durability is mostly a trait you’re born with like natural knockout power, although it’s non-renewable and if you take to much damage eventually your durability will go down or completely crack, now obviously this is a very nuanced topic but I hope I explained the gist of it well enough 🙏
