what were your thoughts with Jacen clearly being set up to be trained in the Force? and how did you react when you realized his master would most likely be Ezra. Ezra's master was Jacen's father (Kanan Jarras/Caleb Dume), it's like poetry, it Rhymes.

A Tales of The Jedi season where we follow Huyang with various Jedi throughout his thousands of years would be amazing.
Could be based on the idea of him telling stories to Sabine &/or Ahsoka while they’re stuck on Peridea & have each story start with David Tennant saying “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away” since they’re not in the main galaxy, would be absolutely perfect imo

To me, the scene between Hera and Ezra made perfect sense. Hera is thrilled to see her 'adopted son' for the first time in a decade but she's Hera. She's smart and immediately recognizes and feels the weight of the context of his return. He's home but he's alone, without Ahsoka and Sabine, he's wearing stormtrooper armor, and he's flying the ship she last saw flown by the enemy (both of which mean Thrawn has returned.) Whatever joy she feels in that moment is crushed by the fresh loss him being alone implies and the fear of what Thrawn's return means for the galaxy she's sacrificed so much to protect.

Eric says it all the time and he’s right, the Star Wars fanbase will always complain about something no matter what. They will never be satisfied with anything. They scream about how much they miss the prequel trilogy and Anakin, this show gave us both and here they are, still complaining. They complained that Rey got too powerful too fast without training and now we have Sabine struggling the entire season to train and open herself up to the force and it took the whole season for her to get there and still be new at it and they hate that too. Truth is, Star Wars fans are always looking to complain.

Yea. People go into the shows looking for every reason to dislike it. They blame Disney for everything and they won’t accept anything, despite the fact the majority of Disney star wars content has been decent, people just hate the sequels so much(justifiably) that they let them taint the new stuff. As much as Ray killed this role, it’s a new character and to completely kill any potential of Braylan’s story being told in live action is not the answer. Ray did a wonderful job bringing the character to life, and now it’s time for someone else to bring something new to Braylan, not shunt him away to animation, which as great as it is, Star Wars animation is the limited side of Star Wars, the character deserves to be given depth and life in live action, I think an actor like Ray woulda wanted that. No one coulda predicted tragedy, we ALL saw him in London, he was so proud of this show and his part in it, and I don’t believe he would have wanted the role to die with him. That’s for Dave and Jon and all the people who worked with him and knew him to decide, but I do believe an actor like Ray wouldn’t want one of his biggest roles ever to be lost with him. Stories are for everyone, and the characters with in them.

    Great stuff as always.
I would say that Abeloth fits into the Mortis equation by being the chaos of the Force-similar to how the Giants of Norse Mythology represent the chaotic elements of nature-while the Father is the balance, or order of the Force-more similar to Odin and the Aesir.
I think Abeloth will be brought back, but recontextualized to better fit the canon. For instance, she will likely just be referred to as "The Mother" to fit the naming convention of the Mortis Pantheon. My hope is that they don't go into too much detail about this entity, and leave it more open to interpretation as a legend or god should be.
I'm excited to see where the Peridea arc goes from here, and even more excited to see our heroes come together to stop Thrawn. It's a good time to be a Star Wars fan for sure.

Am I the only one who wants an animated show that takes in between Episodes 4-5 and 5-6? like with all the main characters, Luke, Leia, Han etc. Clone wars fleshes out the prequels so much that by the time we reach the originals, it goes by way too fast! especially because years are going by but you could watch all of it in the span of like 6 or 7 hours.

29:50 I don't think it'll be exactly like Abeloth, but I do think the essence of that will be here. The witches are scared of something they are fleeing so it's obviously a destructive force of some kind and Balin references that he is looking for whatever is there. I think it might actually be the Mother and whatever form of that they want to bring into the Filoni-canon.

This first season was great. Too many are treating this season like it was meant to end in a series finale or some kind of epic war when clearly this is the beginning of so much more. We introduced new fallen jedi characters, got a new jedi in a worthy Sabine who trained and worked for it and is still a beginner, introduced (to fans that didn’t watch the animated shows) Thrawn, Hera, Chopper and Ezra, introduced the Night Sisters, went to a new galaxy, went to the World Between Worlds, brought in Anakin and had great character development for Ahsoka, got live action clone wars, unleashed Thrawn and the Night Sisters on our galaxy, had great fights, and finally, The Mortis Gods! This show managed to move the Star Wars Universe forward in ways some shows and movies previously couldn’t while building up characters and relationships. Best Star Wars show season since Mando S2.

I can somewhat understand disliking the way it ends given that we didn't (and to my knowledge still haven't) gotten an official confirmation for a season 2, whereas something like Andor, we knew it was getting a season 2 from the beginning, so people weren't expecting to go into rogue one by the end of the first season.

Consider that the children of The Ones weren't always split as Ashla and Bogan. Maybe The Son was a momma's boy, and he was swayed by the way his mother began to act after she became corrupted. It could've happened over more time than most people consider. I'm not sure how the stories were written. I only know enough to get myself in trouble, but I like to look at things objectively and see how they might differ from what the writer negates in their first iteration or what it might become in canon.

  • @OneMikeREV

Paused it at 12:39 so if this gets addressed later, my apologies. But in all honesty, anyone hating on Ahsoka is doing so from personal bias and not objective criticism. Being upset that characters don't do the things that YOU think they should do doesn't make a show bad, it just doesn't live up to your personal expectations and honestly, that's a personal problem. And so many times when I see the "This show was meh" or "This could have been done better" I always comment "So what would you have done better?" and 9/10 they have nothing to say or give there fanfiction that doesn't make the over all narrative any better. This show is driving Star Wars canon in places that a lot of diehard fans want it to go, i.e. Traveling to other galaxies, Night Sisters returning, Mortis Gods and the potential of Abeloth being brought into live action....what more could you actually ask for?!?! Am I saying the show is perfect? No, there are small tweaks that can be made here and there but as a first season? This was great!

There's got to be a connection with Morgan & Pellaeon. Until they officially fill us in I'm going with she told Pellaeon that her plan was under way and they were departing soon, presumably before the Eye of Sion was finished. After all, wasn't her entire shipyard staffed by Imps; the "long live the Empire" thing informs us that she is working with them and not just by herself. And speaking of Pellaeon, how'd get get out of the Battle of Lothal, and what happened to the rest of the blockade fleet in orbit after the purrgil took them out? Another little glossed over hand wave to keep the plot going that ultimately causes a plot hole...
I have trouble believing the insistence that Huyang taught all Jedi younglings how to build sabers, well he did say "nearly all" in his convo with Ezra. Anyway, let's just look at the period during/shortly before TCW to keep it simple. There's supposed to be 10k Jedi active at that point right? During his arc in TCW he takes like what, 8 younglings at a time to Illum? So do younglings go on a waiting list for months at a time or something? Logistically it doesn't make sense for this one single entity to be the only one doing it. There's gotta be a group of saber smith teachers and he's the coolest/best one that all the kids want to be assigned to.
Speaking of sabers, Kanan's saber is gone, it blew up along with the Lothal dome. Thrawn wasn't even on the planet during the holo call where Pryce gloats about it, and he never meets her again. And on the topic of a Kanan ghost, I'd be fine with it if they keep it in TWBW as a similar moment to ep 5 but with Ezra, not necessarily in the same context/circumstance. Given that FPJr has gone on record saying he doesn't want to bring the character back for cameos, it'll probably depend on him changing his mind unless they cast someone else in live action. Which would be a wasted opportunity if they do recast.
Xiono is totally a sympathizer. He's doing much more than being a pragmatic hardliner here, he's overly antagonistic about the suggestion that there's an Imperial Remnant. The show Resistance already did a good job at implying he was a sympathizer, or at least making money off those sweet backdoor weapons contracts that were mentioned in TLJ, and now with this live action depiction that reinforces my opinion even more. Especially considering how much focus has been put into Imperial infiltration of the New Republic lately.
On Sabine, I don't think we'll be seeing her make a new Darksaber. I think that was a unique product of Tarre Viszla. Why does the blade look the way it does both in shape & color? Is it a special crystal, or because the components are made out of Beskar and that interacts differently with Khyber or something like that? I just don't really see that coming back as a 2.0, and going back to my point on Huyang, who's to say he even helped Tarre Viszla? On the other hand, I would love to see her interact with Din Djarin & Bo Katan at some point in the future. I feel like Din would be rightly confused at a Mandalorian Jedi.
Another wishful thought: I wanna see someone get their hands on a couple forgotten Tie Defenders. They were presumably all destroyed since they weren't in full production yet, but you never know.

This may be a hot take but I love the idea that anyone can use the force and I think the ‘chosen one’ prophecy is the worst thing that happen to Star Wars. It shouldn’t be all about how strong you were born it should be how hard you worked at learning the force. Luke didn’t win in the OT because he was powerful he won because he loved his father. But then they made Anakin and Rey these super op people born with more force power than anyone else. I love that Sabine is able to tap into the force and I want that to be because she worked hard at it not because she was born force sensitive and just never discovered it until now.

I disagree. Respectfully, of course. She was already a well established character. The change is out of nowhere. In the shows defence. Sabine being force sensitive could work. She is descended from Vizsla after all. Luke was the son of the chosen one and didn't exhibit anything until Kenobi started teaching him. In Filoni fashion. Great idea. Not executed well. To go from not moving a cup to that to THAT. Learn one thing, you've learned it all. Achieve this talent, and you've unlocked the whole skill tree. Hmmmm....
Where as before we had, "the force is within everyone, but not everyone can wield it. Doesn't mean someone is special or doesn't have value. "
Now we have "Everyone can use the force. They just need to train" is a dangerous concept and, in my opinion, breaks the whole Star wars universe with what it means.
Can you watch everything Star Wars ever again without thinking "huh a fight. Why don't they just use the force? " "Huh, should've used the force. " "Ahh, the forced would have saved him there. "
It means the jedi and sith are the biggest morons in the galaxy. 1000's of years of having to be selective under some silly notion that force users were rare. Didn't they know everyone can do it, duh?
When palpatine stole those children back in the clone wars? Why silly Palpatine. Could've stolen anyone of any age. After all, everyone can do it.
Why did the jedi consider themselves stretched out too thin during the clone wars? Should've just trained anyone silly.
Why didn't Poe do what Ray did when Kylo invaded his mind. He's fully capable. It's not a knowledge issue because Ray didn't know she could that either.
It means count dooku pitted general grievous against jedi and didn't think to teach him the force. After all. Anyone can do it? D**kmove Dooku you scoundrel.
When Qui-gone rolled the dice to blue to ensure anakin would be freed? Why didn't Watto roll it to red? After all. He can do that, too.
"You don't want to sell me any death-sticks" *waves hand*
"I do want to sell you death-sticks..and you want to buy them at full price!" *waves hand*
"You don't need to see his identification" *waves hand*
"I do. You WILL show me your me your identification" *waves hand*
Luke - "You have that power too, Leia......and so does Han, Chewie, Lando. Hell, everyone. Why didn't I just teach it all to you sooner!? Infact. Why didn't the empire just have a force wielding army? Why hasn't every army in history? Muh brain.
If everyone can use the force. Why would the normies of the galaxy ever see the jedi, sith, and the force as myth in certain times in history...
How could the jedi and sith ever run out of soldiers or be pushed to extinction as they have been in multiple times in history...
Wait Greedo could've used the force? Jabba was force sensitive? The gungans and geonosians too?
I could go on, but it's Disney. They will do what they want and taint anything.

@@sketch_0193 Skimmed a bit towards the end of your rant, but wanna point out you are ignoring how the show did say that it takes a hell of a lot more training and work to even use the force. "huh a fight. Why don't they just use the force? ", because they dont know how to. Ahsoka takes place about 10 years after Rebels give or take. Thats 10 years of no Sith, no Empire, no SIS, no war. Outside the random out cropping's of fighting, Ahsoka and Sabine would be doing nothing but training for a decade, and only then was she barely able to move a saber, and do a force push. And even then, she only got to this point cause she is still extremely gifted in mentality, and was in the perfect condition for her training to pay off
The Jedi and the Sith could take a dozen force sensitive kids, and raise them to Master quality in 30 years, to where they would be a real force, or they could take a dozen everyday people, and maybe a couple of them can do some basic padawan moves by then. Anyone can study and learn, but the sheer amount of work it is, makes it so most at the same time cant. Requires decades of training, exemplary motivation and commitment, and someone who can teach + has that kind of time to focus on teaching someone who wont show any progress for YEARS. You are making it seem easier than the show told us it is

My apologies for the long read
Eric - " I don't want to go to a storyteller and say I have something better.". Very Valid point sir but as consumers we are allowed to point out a product's flaws. As Content creators. You know full well that premise alone can’t substitute for content.
I’m glad people enjoyed Ahsoka. It has its highs but when it comes to the lows. Its story-breaking and nothing makes sense.
Fans expect a lot its true. The expectations sometime border on being ridiculous, it’s true. There isn’t a franchise out there doesn’t have its flaws. That doesn’t have its Haters and shills.
Haters will look for something to hate. Shills will allow themselves to be easily glamoured and defend the indefensible, no matter how broken things are.
I went into Ahsoka with an open mind. After all. This is Filoni but his best work is when he’s directing and working with other writers. Ahsoka was solely his…and it shows.
I wasn’t expecting much. Just tell a good story that moves forward while honouring what came before...consistency. We all knew Thrawn makes it back. Disney/Filoni knows we know. They announced it. I didn’t think the ENTIRE plot of the story would be to lead up to that thing of which is already known. I thought get Thrawn escaping but deal with Baylon's story and what he's up to. I'm tired of Disney playing it safe. If a season 2 isn't guaranteed. Go all out. The story will speak for itself.
Watching Ahsoka, I thought someone had mistaken the 1st draft for the final draft. It’s like watching a youtuber trying to make a 2-hour video with 20 minutes of material. instead of adding more material, more episodes(exposition/Context/backstory/clarification) Filoni stretched out as far as he could. We go from A to B to C. Last two episodes let it down in my opinion.
The show and the characters look gorgeous but a quick a think on the plot and it all falls apart. The plot moves forward because everyone is either an intolerable idiot or selfish. There is not one thing that happens that isn’t the result of a character being stupid. The plot must move forward it is true. But at the cost of characters your supposed to root for now and later? At the cost of characters your supposed to fear later? All of which your supposed to take seriously.
If Bethesda is guilty of being lazy when making a game that’s lacking. The anger is justified if all they do is go ''meh, the modders will fix it''.
Filoni is guilty of thinking ''Never mind the context or why this is happening. We were at A now we are at B''. I swear I thought I was watching The Rise of Skywalker at some points.
I defended Kenobi and BOBF. I won’t defend this. Not when it’s from Filoni who already gets too much hype.

I think that they should make a season 2 in animation and cast a voice actor who sounds like ray Stevenson because I don't think there's anyone who can properly match his presence and fighting style on screen. This way we can finish his story in a way that doesn't do his character discredit and who doesn't love animated star wars. We can get some insane moments with the mrotis gods a nd well animated fights. It can set up the movie where it will be brought back to live action of course and maybe give some more time for the live action cast to work on their lightsaber fighting skills and maybe even lars could get in better shape for a star wars movie the people wont forget! I don't think this will happen but It's an idea

This show has some high highs and some major lows, the finale for me was an extreme let down, the only thing I liked is that thrawn won and the baylon/shin set up, other than that it’s not much. I want to like the Morgan/ahsoka fight but the fact the night troopers just stopped firing and watched took me out of it, sabine about killed the show for me, I don’t like how she’s force sensitive, and I think the fact that no one got mad at her for allowing thrawn to escape made it frustrating. I also do not like how the show ends on a happy note. Thrawn is back and ahsoka/sabine are stuck and they should feel terrified but they don’t.

I'm starting to realize a lot of current Star Wars fans are way too bought-in and are unable to critique things, even if they don't like them, because they're unable to cope with something being canon and badly written. I used to be like that, until about halfway through BoBF. At some point you have to stop excusing mediocrity.

Blindwave has critiqued and called out Star Wars before. Even recent stuff. Just cause they dont agree with what you disliked, doesn't make them unable to critique. Like i'd say using some of the "critiques" i've seen, anyone complaining about the fights, Sabine's arc and her being a jedi, the supposed lack of payoff, Baylan's story, Thrawn's portrayal, etc.... are just making up bullshit to be mad about, didn't want a TV show, or just went in with bad faith. Thats not to say Ahsoka is free of issues. Like the Anakin episode was AMAZING, but like nothing new was told to us. Everything they went in to about Ahsoka's fears Rebels had already told us. Just cause you or me find an issue with something, doesn't mean everyone will. And just cause you or me disliked something, doesn't make it universally bad. You dont like something, congrats

@@MellyMelon1331 That's fine, but that's always, and I do mean *always* the defense people levy for something. Some version of "If you don't like it, too bad/don't watch it". If I abided by that logic I wouldn't watch 90% of new Star Wars stuff. I love the Star Wars universe, and the fact of the matter is, it *wasn't* always like this; there wasn't always this division around Star Wars stuff where some people really loved it and others really didn't enjoy it. The Prequels were as close as we ever got to something like that for a time, but this just feels way worse because it's almost every Star Wars show/movie/game/book/comic now. The trajectory of most SW things lately has been very divisive, at the very least. That's a symptom of something, I think. And for me, personally, I think it's due to these things mostly being poorly written. I don't see real passion behind a lot of these scripts, and when I compare heavy moments to say, things in the OT or even the Prequels, a lot of the craft seemingly isn't here anymore.

A whole 8 episodes to get Thrawn and Ezra back, 6 of these episodes that dont feature either character. A whole new galaxy... with only 1 planet of interest. A teaser for larger-scale significance to the Star Wars universe, that was being followed by only 1 character who will no longer be with us because of Ray passing...

I just find the whole Skywalker Saga timeline to be uninteresting at this point. I wish Star Wars would just move on and tell a new story with new characters in a new time period. As someone who is only now watching Clone Wars, I found little reason to care about most of the Ahsoka characters. Baylan and Huyang were the only interesting ones to me. Lightsaber choreography was mostly kinda lame. The initial fight with Baylan and the final fight with Morgan had some intensity at least. The show just doesn't stand on its own at all imo and that wasn't my expectation going in. If it was called Rebels Season 5, I would have far fewer issues with it.
