Full Respect to you for sticking it out bro! And if it helps any, Finnish people also think the winter is way too long.
Too warm in summer, wish for winter ---> Too much loska and bad weather, wish for summer
Nah winter is the best time of year!!! Whn I look out the window and there is like 1 cm of snow its still beautiful!!!
The main cause of the language barrier is the fact that the language as it's commonly spoken is very different from the written standard language.
Oh wow I didn’t know that
@@DaddiDieselDifferent parts of Finland have very different regional dialects. In Savo the spoken language is nothing like it is in Helsinki.
@@DaddiDieselin a lot of places people tend to over-exaggerate how they supposedly cannot understand eachother (Californian speaking to a New Yorker or Londoner to Liverpool) but here the dialects have grown separate for so long its genuinely impossible for a Karelian to understand a person from Helsinki in some instances. The modern capital slang works a bit like how black Americans speak English: lotta words condensed and in some cases just cut off
Written: Minä soitan sinulle takaisin (I'm going to call you back)
Spoken (Helsinki): Mä soitan sulle takas (I'm gone call u back)
There is also major influence from both Russian and Swedish on some of the dialects especially around the areas bordering them. I'm from Helsinki, and only 15, so I cannot speak on behalf of the rest of the country. But when learning the language the Helsinki slang might actually be the furthest thing from the written form...
From what I've heard of the people of Rovaniemi and Oulu though, their talk sounds very close to written Finnish. It's just some words that have extra consonants or vowels thrown around for no reason that sticks out when they speak
So true! I've studied written standard and it only helps a little with spoken.
As a native I 100% agree with everything you said, especially the language barrier.
I am a Brazilian in Finland and I feel the same way bro.
Love the content.
I can't wait to hear you speak finnish with confidence with that booming voice of yours. Keep practising, the people need to hear it!
Don't feel stupid when talking finnish, it's really cool that you are learning it and I am sure that everyone really appreciate you for learning!
my dads sisters husband is from america and speaks perfect finnish he learned it in only 6months and my dad asked him how/why he learnt the language so fast and he replied "jos täällä aion asua niin kyllähän kieli pitää oppia" or in english if im gonna live here i need to know the language
Good for her, mortals can't relate
Did he speak any languages other than English? Usually ppl who speak multiple languages, it's easier for them to learn other languages

Number 3 I sooooo sympathise with ya! I've grown up in the UK and Ireland and was instantly labeled "the American kid", even though I spoke with an accent just like them! Didn't help that my Mum sent me over with t-shirts and a jacket with American flags. 😅
It is normal to not like the length of the winter first, but you will slowly get used to it😃
Yup lol
Your voice cures my fibromyalgia pain 😳🙈💕 Ja saa kirosanat kuulostamaan mysteeriseltä 😎🫡
Winter has its advantages!
It looks very beautiful outside and also exercising outdoors has its own benefits at this time of the year!
Sometimes it just sucks because life without a car can get very difficult expecially in the winter.
I love your videos and seeing how you have progressed its just so cool
The language is easily understandable.
1. It's not very popular
2. Grammar is very hard
3. Pronounciation is way diffrent
These all might just be because it's in a TOTALLY diffrent language family compared to other more popular languages
The grammar is also very inflexible and flexible at the same time. I've spoken finnish my entire life and as a trilingual person some things still don't make sense.
@@shueibdahir Same here bro. I've also spoken this language for my entire life and it's still hard to understand some stuff.
i recommend tasting a candy named Sisu the next time you make one of those candy eatin videos, theyre really good finnish candies. all the flavors are good too, so dont worry about picking

Tykkään katsoa sinun videoita❤
Worst thing is the darkness you go to work/school its dark when you go home its dark at like 4pm😂
You will get used to the winter its not bad if you just get used to it
Well the cold weather really sucks even for the people who were born here. I’ve seen African immigrants deal with it a lot better than I do.
For me personally If someone like you would try speaking Finnish to me Even If they werent so good at it, i would appreciate it and i love foreign accent
Tsemppiä! 👍🔥

you can narrate Finland's winter!
You need to try our traditional licorice its So salty and perfect
Your voice is amazing
Finnish winter and the darkness can be depressing thing, people here just need to learn find the positives about it. What it comes to Finnish language, it's one of the hardest languages in the world to learn master it, some people can't it fluent even after living decades here. What it comes to thinking of "all Americans are the same", don't let it push you down. That's stereotypic, and there's different people in every genre, some people just never understand it. just keep ripping! 💪
I live in Finland 🇫🇮

Perhaps the language barrier is lower with teenage Finns, because nowadays every other word in their speech is English. It's called Finglish.

Are you in Helsinki
As a native who speaks Oulu dialect, you really cant understand the Savonians even though they speak the same language
As someone who has lived in Savo, you still can't understand it. It's always that one middle aged mechanic/plumber/electrician etc. They are basically speaking Irish every time you talk to them.
@@ragerasse7616 yea, same for me except its everyone from Savonia
