- We haven't worked on the Monza in awhile! I've been wanting some new rims to go with the chrome and blue colorway I've been working on and I had a chance recently to get a new set of rims from Peddlepower BMX at a good discount due to their holiday sale. I picked up a set of chrome Sun Rhino Lites with blue nipples and blue and polished Technique Rocket Pod hubs. Bernie and I head back into his garage to get the new hoops and a new blue brake cable installed.

Love your videos guys. You give me the confidence I can do just about anything on my bikes. I can learn from my mistakes. I have a beautiful Monza 24 with tuffs that I’m customizing. I’m definitely getting a Monza 26 at the brilliant prices here in Australia and will then go down my favourite route of chrome and blue as well. Will match my Mongoose Motomag.

I love acs freewheels!! I did a 4paw setup on my 26” bmx bike and my 24” schwinn predator project! They are just loud enough and not bother you on a long ride👍🏻

Quick tip put the freewheel removal tool on the vice and just turn the rim instead of using the breaker bar ratchet much easier to just rotate the rim

Video looks and sounds good to me! Around 53 minutes, the audio seemed to increase quite a bit, but nothing crazy. And the video looked VERY good with the sunlight. At the end when it was getting dark, it definitely had a dip in quality but still looked fine. Great job with the breaker bar! I've had several badly stuck freewheels. I like to put the tube and tire completely on, and put a little air in the tire to protect the rim. Then I put it on the ground and brace it between a wall and my body/leg, and then use the breaker bar with full body weight. The long breaker bar is key though! And don't forget lots of grease on the freewheel hub threads!
I noticed that too. The tricky part about using a phone is that with the iPhone and the lightning cable, you can't monitor the sound so you are hoping it all works out. The video looked really good except for right at the end light that. I was actually surprised it dropped off with the lower light. That's a good idea about having the tires on and having some air in it, just to pad it a little. Yes, lots of grease is vital! Thanks again for looking out for the Hawaiian Homies!
I couldn't see your freewheel tool but most of them can be placed in a vise. Once the tool is in the vise simply grab the wheel and turn counter clockwise. That should make removing freewheel easier. I love the new wheels !! I have a set of those hubs going on a PK Ripper build soon!
I was actually thinking of the same thing! Yeah, that would be an easy way to remove the freewheel as you'll have a ton of leverage that way. I really like how these wheels turned out! Thanks for watching and for that suggestion!
I'm upgrading my Monza 26 as well.changed out to the high rise gt 4 piece bars,odi lock ons,and went with a panaracer 1.75 tires.crank and pedals next.nice build by the way.

I just swapped the brake pads and spent maybe a good 45 minutes getting them installed and adjusted right and I think I've taken care of that dreaded goose! Thanks for watching another one!

I never was able to get them completed to my liking. I had some changes that I asked my friend to do and he got busy and just never finished them. But other than that, the bike is complete! Check out our new Race Inc that weʻre building!

The White industries, Profile and BOX components freewheels are the best But they aren't as loud as the origin8 and ROS freewheels.
Bernie and I both want to try the White Industries at some point. All three sound like they are solid freewheels. Thanks for sharing that and for watching!

I think I really like the GT chrome cranks on the Monza so I don't think I'll be changing them. But that is a good idea if I wanted to add more blue! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching another one!
Forget the haters people should realise you're doing these videos to show us that anyone can do this and maybe you'll get it wrong now and again but have a go and save yourself some money ?

Those are chrome plated from Technique/Peddlepower BMX. You can order them online from them. I have had some issues with the plating peeling off though. Not sure if it’s a Hawai’i humidity thing or if I have a bad batch.

I will check them out. I watch all your Monza videos and interview with RADICAL Rick and a few others. I like the blue on your Monza. When I first bought it I only changed the tires to white walls , the Orgin 8 freewheel, 25 nine pedals and white and black checkered grips.
I’m not doing a lot more to it. I have the 36T blue chain ring like yours, the polish star burst spider, GT cranks, Profile 140 points of adjustment freewheel, Red tires, red checkered grips, red Monza hard plastic seat, blue profile bottom bracket. I still have to get the blue tensioners, V breaks , lever , cable, seat post clamp, axle nuts. My Monza will be red and blue.
You mention a blue chrome seat post, where did you get it from?
