Just an idea for a future video... You both should round up all of your bikes and explain your likes, dislikes and possible upgrades for each one. I think that would make for a very interesting video. You just never know what creative ideas The Brochanics will come up with. Also, great video you guys.
We do have quite the collection of bikes and that would make for an interesting video so thank you for that suggestion! Between the Hutches, Monzas, and everything else, we could talk about a lot. Thanks for sharing that and for watching!
Love the new chain, good choice on tires, but yeah.... $20 for the Redline crank arm stickers.... My opinion is they are totally worth it. The extra detail makes your already beautiful drivetrain really pop even more. 💯 (I've got a pair of those newer Redline cranks in chrome waiting for my Trick Star build and I've got a set of the Gen 1 Redline stickers ready to replace the black stock ones. So maybe I'm a little biased on the stickers )🤣
You know, I think what really makes a bike standout are the little details like the right stickers. The new sticker set on the Supercross just makes that bike pop. Having those colors match is just an important part of any build. Stickers for the cranks were pricey but they do help to add that little bit of color along with the Redline name. Looking forward to your Trick Star build!
The Skyway already looked sweet, but these tweaks took it to the next level. Well done! I'm the same with stickers. If they're even a little off, it'll keep me awake at night.
Bernard is fighting that tire. 😅 I’ve never seen anyone install an inner tube like that. We all put the tubes in the tire, and then put the whole tire on the rim.
That’s an awesome build! I’m an old guy getting back into BMX, too. You guys are inspiring me to build my own bike. I’m in Oregon but my kids still live on Oahu.
Thanks man! Appreciate it! I was just in Oregon getting my kids back to college. Just charge ‘em and build one! You can do it! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Awesome! Also, the tray that comes with that stand is really handy, you guys should give it a shot. Has slots for wrenches and bolts so they are right where you're working. Keep the vibe going and have fun in Texas! Can wait to see what you guys get into.. 🤙🤙🤙
You are absolutely right, the tray that comes with it is helpful! I think what happens is that the stand is always folded when it's not being used so the tray doesn't get put back with we do work on it. But yeah, the tray would help keep the tools right there! Thanks for the comment and for watching another one!
I am a fan of Gum Wall tires that is one beautiful Skyway love the colorway y'all have cool vibes I grew up watching the movie RAD in the movie The BMX Bandits and riding BMX with my brother 👍✌️🤙
Thanks! Planet BMX and Skyway did a fantastic job on those candy chrome finishes! Check out our GT build to see their candy chrome blue Redline cranks! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
Kev, I do the same when it comes to stickers on legos 😂...Dad is going to do the stickers kids!! 😂😂 Love the gum walls...old school all the way! Safe trip to Austin! Hope to see coverage from the roundup!
Eyyyy, good to know I'm not alone in my anal retentiveness! My son knew he had to wait until dad put on the stickers, poor guy! We're looking forward to Austin and plan on filming every day we'll be there so stay tuned! Thanks man!
You gotta take a dremel with sand grinding stone attachment and widen the fork dropout to fit 10mm bolts. Not were the bolt clamps but just were the wheel bolt can slide into its position. Had to do it on both mine to fit my onyx hubs.
Much as I like black tires more than tanwalls, this looks better than with the blacks. Well done, guys! Decal tip: don't peel all of the backing off at one time. That way you can position a decal better. Slowly peel it off while pressing down on the decal. Also less chances of getting skin oils on the adhesives. As for the tire levers: it all depends with me on the wheels and tires. On most of my mtb's, I only use one or sometimes even none. On my road bikes, It's a minimum of two most of the time. Specially with my deeper carbon wheels. The bike is looking like a Captain America theme,Kev! 😄
Aloha guys..I really like your builds but I'm glad not to go down that rabbit hole where it's never finished. I just got my Monza 26..it's beautiful just the way it is. BTW the gumwalls were the right choice 🤙
You mentioned the holes in the rims were a pain to clean but they go perfectly with those machined hubs. A piece of artwork, the entire bike is a piece of artwork. But how does it ride?
Thank you so much! I really do like the look of it and you’re right, it matches the hubs really well. But man, you can’t get those rims wet! If I were to build a strictly show bike, I’d use these again. But I like to ride my bikes so to make it easier on myself, I’ll stick with Ryno Lites! Thanks for the kind words and for watching!! 🤙🏼
I have a set of blue tires on my Big Ripper and they are tough to maintain here with our red dirt. I was always scrubbing them down after a few rides. I really thought about getting some colored tires for the Skyway but with the rims having the holes in them, getting them wet would be a problem. The water just sits in those holes and the colored lining is just a type of cardboard. That would not last very long if I had to wash the tires all the time. If this was a show bike that hung on the wall, I think colored tires would look killer. But I like to ride my bikes and so I had to also think of the work involved with getting colored tires. I really appreciate the comment and you watching! Thanks! BTW, just subbed to your channel! Those lights look killer!
It turned out GORGILISIOUS ! Although the crooked stickers make it look kinda Getto. You should really think about investing in some new Red Line stickers to bring it back to BOUGIE statis. Just kidding, just ask Dr. Bernie. The tire swap looks sweet and the blue / red color balance is spot on.
@Cruising in The 808 Hey guys hope your well, it’s great to see you putting the icing on the cake. Not that its important, but I just have to ask you, on the rear rim of your Skyway, did they miss a hole as it seems like they did, take a look in the space opposite the Air Valve……..? Araya use to do the same rims back in the 1980’s and I have never seen them like that before. We use to call them Araya Penny Rims, because the hole was the size of an English Penny….🇬🇧🏴 Keep up the good work, I loved the ride you did the other day. I thought you were gonna ride around the whole island, it’s beautiful out there…….😳😮
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words! Yeah, the rims have a hole missing as that's where the rim is joined. I guess putting a hole in the middle of the joint would probably not be a good idea, so they skipped the hole there. It does look a little weird without that hole. We are blessed to be able to ride here in Hawaii pretty much all year round. And the views are pretty nice too! Thanks for watching!
About the crank bolts, I usually just use grease because I've had some stripped that had thread lock. However, I lost one on my Profile Column cranks just like you did here, and those bolts are expensive, $15 for ONE BOLT!! So I used a little thread lock when I installed the replacement.
That's crazy expensive for just one bolt! So yeah, I think we'll get some thread locker soon so I don't lose another one. I had no idea it was gone too!
Well done on the chain, Brochanics! The tires on the other hand, not so much.🙄 Ya should have gone with whitewalls to match the red, white & blue of the Skyway logo. Just my 2¢ but it's your bike, not mine! Take care fellas & enjoy yourselves in Austin! 😎
Point taken! The Skyway colors are red, white, and blue for sure but I purposely focused on just red and blue with this build. White walls would look dope though so thanks for the suggestion! Bernie and I are looking forward to Austin! Thanks!
I gotta agree, the red chain is so bright it almost looks like it's made of plastic. After putting the custom-colored bolts to mount the brakes have you thought about going balls to the wall and getting blue bolts for the stem and the seat post clamp when your looking for colored crank allen bolts? GET JIGGY WITH IT DUDE!
Man I wish I would have known about Austin Tx show!! But I found yall know!! Killer Skyway!!! Quick question do you know the width of the Monza 24" tires on the Skyway Tuff 2 mags!? Again one of the best builds ive seen yet!!!!
Do you think using a hair dryer or an air compressor would help to dry those rim holes? They look sweet and I was thinking of looking for a pair thinking they might save some weight, but I couldn't remember who makes them. They're bougie pricey, and apparently a pain to clean. Thank you for helping me make up my mind before regretting a costly purchase.
I think an air compressor would do a good job in getting the air out. That’s way better than my “flip the bike and spin the tires as fast as I can” method! 😂 They are cool looking if you can keep em clean! 🤙🏼
No those are S&M 4 piece bars I think. The Billet BMX Bulldogs just came out and we built this bike awhile ago. Those Billet bars look good though!! Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
I’ve got the red shadow conspiracy chain also which I’m about to get rid of for the red black ops one! The anodized blue looks dope! It fits the bike very very well!!

It was a decent amount and way more than I expected to spend. Once I bought the pedals it was like I just had to keep going to make sure the other parts were just as nice. Don’t want to do that again! 😂 Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼

i have a 2021 Haro Sloride 26”. I need your expertise, you see I been wanting to change my rims to mags but Skyway only makes or made 24”. Should I get the 24” mags or just stay with the ones I have already 26”?
I have never put 24 inch rims on a 26" bike but now that you've asked about it, I want to try it out so that might make it into a new video. I'm just curious about it. You can purchase metal mags from a company called R4 that you can get in the 26 inch size. www.r4products.com/collections/26-bmx-mag-wheel-sets I want to say another company also puts them out but they are not composite like the Skyways. They are metal and I think it has to do with the rim size. 24 is the largest Skyway rim they make. I don't think I would recommend putting on 24 inch rims on your 26. We might try it though just to see what happens so maybe stay tuned? Thanks for the comment and for watching!🤙🏻
@@cruisinginthe808 Yes, that’ll be cool if you made a video on that subject because as of right now nobody has made a video regarding the downgrade wheels. Thanks for your suggestion. I made a decisions to instead of putting on the 24 inch wheels why not build a 24” DMC Haro Master with Gyro Brake Kit, layback seat post and the Skyway 24’ wheels kind of a 88 style (that’s what I road back in the days). Love your tips and videos. please send a Shoutout to the Old School BMX Rides of Port Hueneme, California.
Good point! But understand we broke that chain before with zero problems a few times before this so we thought it’d be the same. But we learned our lesson and Bernie picked up the correct chain breaker. You live and learn right? Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
I should have added that you guys are building some of the sickest bikes on the net. That blue and white Race Inc. Is spot on. Billet Bmx owes you a thank you.
I im stubborn, but I do listen to what other people have to say sometimes, but if u like your bike, the way it is, do it your way because everyone will have their own ideas sometimes people will like what you've done maybe copie u,🇺🇸
Who bitched about this bike? I’d like to see what they ride. This is sweet even before you made the changes. I am real particular on things like colour and matching stuff and I thought you guys got it really perfect…First time out. then again I’d put that exact chain on my BK team signature in a heartbeat, If I was one of your Bros, I would tell you that everybody else is right just so I could snake the chain off you for cheap 😅

Too funny! I’ve got white redline flights, and I had to go through two sets of stickers to get them straight! I’m anal like you guys are and have to have them dead straight! very frustrating!!

I used to play that game for hours bro.....thanks for watching another one!
@@cruisinginthe808 I'm playing it right now.level 6 is a beast =)
You know you can’t grab no halogen light like that, led , burns so much cooler.
Or you could get titanium crank bolts, then anodize them blue yourselves
Haha, thanks for sharing that! Iʻm sorry that Iʻm only seeing this comment now but YT hid a bunch of comments from me for some reason. I usually reply to them all and I did not see this one until I refreshed some stuff in my TH-cam Studio and then bam, all of these comments were there! Sorry about that! Appreciate you watching! 🤙🏻
@@cruisinginthe808 No worries bro you saw my BK in messages on insta, I went with a black eclat diesel chain it’s the nicest two link style chain going (IMO) and eclat makes quality parts. Super high end German and Japanese metals 🤌🏻
Hurry and use a hair dryer and peel the sticker an redo
Does that work? I never thought of that but yeah, I guess heating it up would loosen the adhesive somewhat! Great tip! Thanks for sharing that!
First!
New to the channel. Please change the narrator. His voice is annoying.
Sorry to disappoint you with my annoying voice but thatʻs how I sound and thatʻs what youʻre going to hear on all of my videos if you stick around to keep watching them.
Dam u guys are slow I'm out
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!
Too funny! I’ve got white redline flights, and I had to go through two sets of stickers to get them straight! I’m anal like you guys are and have to have them dead straight! very frustrating!!
If the cranks were sitting on my desk it would have been way easier to put on but once they were on the bike, forget it! They were hard to get straight! Thanks for your comment and for watching!!
Always ride with the gum walls. They look way better on your bike then all black.
You and Bernie would get along! He thinks the same thing! I do agree that the gum walls look better on the bike. Thanks for the comment and for watching!!
