As of this video, Pao’s Pastries & Café in Van Nuys is the only restaurant in Los Angeles that specializes in Bolivian food. They are known for their Bolivian saltena pastries, but also have many other foods like Silpancho and Sopa de Mani.

Salteña, is a morning aperitif, it is a Calzone like baked pastry and inside there is a delicious beef (it is made of other meat and vegetarian), a tasty souce, potatos, olives, hard eggs, a tasty soup, and other vegetables The Salteña dow is suite and cruchy!

There is a Donut shop near Redwood City that has Salteñas. It's called Nuri's Donut shop
I am Bolivian American (grew up in Chicago, currently in Orlando, my family is from Cochabamba) and it is SO hard to find Bolivian food anywhere. I know how to make Silpancho and Salteñas and my mom is going to be teaching me how to make Falso Conejo...but it would be nice to find a place I can just go and order.

I am from La Paz Bolivia 🇧🇴 and I live in Long Beach. My favorite plate is Plato Paceño 😋. There are two places I know off that are really good for Sáltenas near Long Beach. One is La Rancherita in Santa Ana and the other is Bebas in Anaheim California , I look forward to going to Van Nuys soon 😃❤️👍🏼🇧🇴

My favorite Bolivian food is Pique macho and falso conejo! Falso conejo has the same meat from silpancho but it’s served in this meat sauce, highly recommend

That brought memories specially La sopa de mami it look just like my grandmother use to make it. After 35 yrs of leaving in the states l still remember and miss the taste, next time try Un Chairro and if you like penuts Papas ala Huancaina, and to finish may be Mocochinchi o un Helado de Canela. Loved your reaction... but, next time try to eat "chairo". It's a soup with dehydrate potatoes and "mote" (white corn) and then "Pique Macho", it's meat with fries and more. I'm pretty sure you gonna love that.

Very nice video! Bolivia has many different cuisines and this was only one small part of it. Unfortunately, often the ingredients are difficult to find outside the Andes so I'm afraid you will have to do a travel video :)

Yes! I 100% agree! Nothing compares to the fresh, preservative free ingredients found in Bolivia. The vegetables and fruits are so much more flavorful. Not to mention Bolivia is one of the few countries where GMO's are banned. Plus the culture itself consists of enjoying friends, family and food, not rushing and eating on the run.

Bolivian food is the best in the world by far. My favorite dry food is Pique Macho and my favorite soup is either Sopa de Mani or Kawi.

Gracias por comer nuestra gastronomía: el Silpancho no es necesario comerlo con tanta cebolla (yo lo como sin cebolla); y la salteña tiene mas jugo (guiso) por lo que es recomendable comer la puntita y luego tomar el jugo hasta vaciarlo y así poder comer la salteña sin el riesgo de mancharte la camisa (como cuando éramos niños).
