- Hey guys, in today's video I show you my 2022 Camaro ZL1. I did my best to do a quick overview of features and showcase the car some so let me know if I missed anything! Feel free to comment something you'd like for future videos of this and your thoughts on the car! Catch you in the next video!

Dude, this car looks sick. I'm a Ford guy, but I love these 6th gen ZL1s.
I came from a 3rd gen GT bolt on and e85 and this definitely impresses me every time I drive it!

Sonax Alcantara cleaner works great for the steering wheel. I have a GT350, 12 o'clock area became matted and shiny. Applied some Sonax to a soft brush, gently agitated the Alcantara to rejuvenate it and then used a microfiber to wipe of the residue. Then I used Permatex Fast Orange wipes to give the wheel a final wipe/cleaning. Came out perfect; only took about 5 minutes.

Wow love the roads you were driving on !here in Southern California there’s just too much traffic too many cops! I also just purchased a used 2018ZL1 with 15,000 miles six speed manual and I wanna open her up just hard to find a good spot

Beautiful car. I'm buying a 2023 vivid orange metallic ZL1, convertible. I traded off a Corvette. Red Tintcoat was my first choice, but they are HARD to find. Have fun!

Around 2:42 I knew those valves were open. I have a 2017 black ZL1 50th anniversary edition.
If you are sure the car is stock tuned, I would look into Trifecta Tuning. I used them for my Chevy, it really made a difference in both acceleration and made fuel economy better.

@@talalalmehaid3349 basically “hacking” the car but not really. You can change A/F ratios, timing, make changes to accommodate mods etc..
good-buy, they're going to appreciate for sure. I work at a Chevy and we barely get any camaro's anymore, yet alone ZL1's.
Yeah I’ve seen some pop up the past few years but when a ‘22 with under 8k miles showed up locally for a good price I jumped on it!
Awesome ride. I just got done paying off my 22 2ss 1le camaro that i bought last year. Almost went for a zl1 but really don’t need the additional power and insurance costs. You will have so much fun with that toy!
This chassis is amazingly nimble, I would’ve bought a 2ss over my new 3rd gen GT in a heart beat 🙌🏻 it’s been a pleasure so far!

@@drodriguez1724 I use to run heavy equipment, then did factory work and am now a CAD technician for a 3D construction modeling company, but made good money selling my first house the beginning of this year

Nice car. I used to have a 2022 SS 1LE in wild cherry before I got my GT500. Actually ordered a ZL1 but went with the GT500 instead.

Money was the big factor for me here, scooped it up for under 70k + basic mods, otherwise I was looking at built GTRs. GT500s are amazing cars but they’re too expensive imho, same as any C8 corvette

I bought a stretch over silicone “skin” for the steering wheel,,covers 90% of the Alcantera and is very grippy

Color looks tight. Definitely swap the long tube header with TSP or Kooks. Also, replace the side markers with at least smoked lenses. Possibly swap pulley and have tuned. Should get you over 600hp depending on base dyno.
I drove 6 diff mustangs and they couldnt hold a candle to camaro, especially the ZL1.
Oh most definitely not these cars are phenomenal! And it’ll be getting tuned for e40 sometime in the near future, I might do a lower pulley but spinning these superchargers without additional cooling can actually make you lose power since they heat soak really fast

The 10L80 is actually the SS transmission. The ZL1’s have the 10L90.

If you want to avoid rock chips on your paint get rock guards from either ZL1Addons or ACS Composite ASAP.
I’ll look into it! The car does have PPF but not on the rear bumper lower part so I hadn’t thought of that!

i went from a Whipple 5.0 to a GT350,but for the longest i was thinking of swapping from my 5.0 to a ZL1,kinda glad i went with the 350 tho
I tried to go after a built ‘19 GT350 manual, it was an amazing deal but sadly sold before I could get to it, they’re amazing cars but the ZL1 is definitely a great competitor at the price point

You can start the car in “Stealth Mode” which keeps the valves closed at start up. (I use it to not wake the kids up when leaving the garage early in the morning.)
You enable Stealth Mode in Settings, though I’m not 100% sure how to get into settings before starting in an Auto Camaro (mine is a manual so I hold the brake while holding down the Start button for several seconds).

ive been telling people the zl1 is the best choice of all the muscle cars. And the interior is hands down the best. The others dont even have interior lighting its sad

I've heard the ZL1 is a great performance vehicle, but as far as interior, just mediocre!

Will the A10 holds the revs up if you are in sport mode for example? I can't really tell - it almost sounds kinda like it goes quiet(ish) once you let off the gas. I'm mentally comparing it to a Mustang with A10 that will hold the rps up (makes it more exciting - race-car-esque).
Yes it’ll shift more aggressively and hold gears longer, same for track mode!

@@nickwicks4539they also sell a product in a spray bottle to clean the Alcantara. Some lady does a video on cleaning and caring for Alcântara in a Porsche that I found very helpful. I think her name was Tran. I think she was Vietnamese.

Based on the CTS-V and 5th gen ZL1 values, I 100% think it will increase for low mileage examples and retain for pretty much anything under 100k miles

I mean it being an issue is relative, GTRs technically have small/narrow side mirrors but no one complains lmao I have no issue seeing where cars around me hence it’s not an issue 🤷🏻♂️
Does this have the magma ride I think they call it ?? Can you explain it ?
Correct it has “magnaride” suspension. I’m not too educated on the full extent of it but to my understanding: the suspension can have variable stiffness (dependent on drive mode but can be specifically set to one setting in vehicle controls as well) to help improve performance or comfort. The suspension takes data polls at an extremely fast rate in order to adjust shock dampening. That is the most I understand the technology so I hope it helps 😁
How much was it?
It was a certified pre owned at my local Chevy dealer with 7700 miles or so with the corsa intake and exhaust, I paid 68k before down payment (covered TTL out of pocket)

Does the front plastic bumper and the rear bumper ever match the rest of the car? I have seen this time and time again on the 6th gen camaro. Is this some kind of nostalgia thing with Chevy because they couldn't paint match back in the day. It is so obvious the car is 2 different colors.
In person it’s not nearly as bad but plastic versus metal it’s hard to ever get a perfect match 🤷🏻♂️

As far as I know it is stock engine and tune just has the corsa intake and exhaust, but I agree it sounds awesome! I got 25.6 on a 500 mile trip one way, but in the city I get around 12-15 😁
Is your plate referencing E85?
Yes it is! I had the plate on my mustang so I had it transferred, the camaro will be running on a e40 mix and tune in the near future since I now have HPTuners available to me
