Collectors edition is just mate black paint and no extra performance and yet they charge more money. I have to give it to Dodge for adding additional power to their final editions but the dealers still gouge the consumers on price.
Your knowledge, energy and foresight challenged my decision to buy a ZL1 vs. a C8 Z51 - my last Corvette was a C7 Z06 and the same powertrain as this beast, it's unbelievable - so in the end it was easier to choose the ZL1 than to buy the C8 ZR1. Both tremendous Chevy performance cars, I'm convinced like you, this 2023 ZL1 will be a collector's item - I put 3-4K miles per year on my Corvettes and now my ZL1 Camaro, so in five years I'll have one of the most beautiful muscle car ever build with 15-20K miles. I'm 75, so when I'm 80, I'm wondering what this 2023 will be sold for - more than either of us can currently imagine.
I bought the current gen 2017 ZL1 when it first came out. 50th Anniversary badging inside. Completely loaded out! Went with the 10-spd automatic after a lot of debate. It's an absolutely fabulous piece of machinery & very well built. These will become collector cars for sure.
I'm literally getting approved for my loan to buy this today. I'm so psyched! I gave up on the C8 Z06. Wait lists are nearly two years out. For me it was a toss up between this and the C7 Grand Sport. I ultimately went with the ZL1 since it's arguably the better car and the C7 Z06 was never really an option due to the heating issues. I feel like the ZL1 is Chevy's best ever track focused car at least until the C8 Z06 officially hits the roads and even then it will be debatable.
I just ordered my zl1 le today. But they are telling me 8 months and I should get it. So u may get one sooner. I hope we both are driving our cars soon. I have had a new 2011 grand sport convertible I bought a 75 edition 427 convertible I bought my wife a Cadillac v coupe when the first came out. But the next one I’m keeping. I had a Mercedes s550 and that was a nicest car ever.
Mine is scary fast! Literally, can’t hit wide open throttle, half throttle just for a few seconds and you have to hit the brakes to keep from getting arrested!
When l first got my ss took it to Bartlett lake, the drive was awsome. The car handles soo good l was taking the turns so fast and it didn't feel like l was. It's a head turner not many camaros by me so it's kinda nice. Luv all the positive camaro comments .
You just can't beat the 6th gen camaro when it come to the price to performance ratio. (Yeah, prices have been high recently). The 6th gen camaro in general is sure going to be a sought-after car in the near future!
I put down money on a 2022 C8 Z51 6 months ago and have nothing but drama. I am going for the ZL1. I do regret selling my 16’ Z06, but I will be modifying this one. TBD. Great video by the way!

I bought my 2021 ZL1 1LE, pre owned, w/ 9240, fot %70K because I have akways been a "Camero Man". When Chevy first introduced it in 1967, I was 9, my dad bought a RS Convertable, fully loaded, 8-Track, hidden head lights, electric windows the works, I was in love with it, all my friends were in love with it, when ever my mom offered to chauffeur for feild trips everyone wanted the Camaro, he eventually gave it to me when I was 16-17, maybe 18. So this car will be the gift to my boys, the eldest it seems as the youngest is a Supra guy. Eli, my oldest is 12 so it will be some time. I simply love the Camero, not sure the 1LE was the best choice, I dont mind the stiff ride, I dont want to damage it on the Sh1tty roads we have, I want to track it, but probably only once, we will see, and it sucks premium gas like I suck air, It's just a beautiful car, a peice of art as you said, I liked that and my Dumb A$$ doesn't own a garage, so we are moving, getting that "dream house" for my wife, she hates the car. It's cost and impracticalabiliy. Me and our boys just love it. Enjoyed your vid, I really love the front splitter where did you get that. Yours also isnt a 1LE correct? or did you remove the front dive planes? You also said it was very smooth in Touring mode, the 1LE doesnt have the maganetic ride of the ZL1 , its all racing coils so it is never a smooth ride, save on very good roads, which unfortunatly isnt the norm in America. The other issue I have is I have to deal with is the summer tires. I have researched and found I shouldnt drive it below 40 degrees for safty reasons, I took her out today it was 40 when I stomped on her shs did slide a bit on the summer only shoes. And they say below 20 you will damage the shoes. I still love the car. Trump promised better roads in his first go round never delivered. Biden promised them never delivered, I hope trump comes through this time, but I won't hold my breath. As a lame ducker, I am worried he will treat this country as "his toy". I hope he cares about his toys.

I wish I could own one but that will be hard since I'm only 13 and by the time I get old enough to drive the Camaro will be discontinued hopefully GM will keep it alive

I currently have a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS. I got my Camaro March 9th of 2020 before the C-Virus Pandemic happened. I'm just hoping, I would have the majority of my 2SS Camaro paid off by 2024 so I can upgrade to a ZL1 Camaro on the final year of production.
Hopefully one day I can buy a Zr1 or a trail boss Silverado with the 6.2 in it but the Zr1 is one of my dream cars along with the GT mustang but I like the Zr1 more just because it comes with 650hp from factory and a super charger
I have a 2018 in garnet red...I'll have to check out those options you mentioned with the performance Sport 1 and 2....I usually just keep it in Regular sport. It's definitely a great car!....I did switch my tires to continental extreme contact sport and I added carbon fiber in my interior.

Thats different the 5th gen z28 and zl1 was discontinued and replaced with a successor and even better 6gen zl1 the 6gen zl1 wont be replaced by another factory supercharged v8 this is the last factory supercharged v8 we could see possibly forever and the same thing even goes for the hellcat
The z/28 still doesnt have a successor though its still the last z/28 that was built. There are SO many 6th gen zl1s that have been built already not including the coming years. and now with this rumored 1 year special edition it knocks the non special edition 6th gen zl1 down another peg in terms of collectability. Just to be clear a 6th gen zl1 is currently my planned next car i love the car i just dont think its a great of a collectors car as he stated in the video.

I do think the zl1 1le will be a good collectors car but as I already said I think there’s already a better option and a coming soon better option.
the selectable drive modes are mostly independent of the performance track management settings (PTM) there is no such thing as "performance mode" same setup as in my C7Z06 which as someone commented, as dedicated as the zl1 1le is at the track a z06 is still faster around the ring which is generally regarded as the gold standard.
You're right it's called competitive mode (he notified this in the video) and regardless performance or competitive mode would generally mean the same thing. Also gold standard obviously doesn't mean much cause same year z06 and zl1 are roughly the same price zl1s sticking to their msrp whereas z06 are hovering 10-20k below their msrp
It's performance shift mode. A mode inside sport and track modes for the transmission 🙂 Also there are modes inside track mode Double tap traction control and you will find out how all the power is sent to the wheels. Bet
I'm still on the fence with the purchase of my 2022 ZL1. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to drive, but I feel as though I gave up something more rare for it. My trade-in was a 2016 Chevy SS Sedan (Holden rebadged). The ONLY reason I was willing to part with my SS Sedan was because it wasn't a manual. It would be interesting to see how many ZL1s are out on the road today compared to SS Sedans. Probably the biggest thing I miss about the SS Sedan is the sleeper aspect. There's really no way I'm going to catch someone off guard with the ZL1. I will say that I love being back in a manual.

It's not that it doesn't recline enough, it's that the best position for the Camaro is a more upright position. I'm convinced that this is why the Dodge and to some extent the Mustang sell better. A lot of people want to sit in their cars like they sit on the couch at home. You can't sit in a Camaro the way you can in a Mustang and Dodge product because you need to be more engaged in a traditional driving position with the Camaro (given the viewing angles).
any ideas where to buy a used one? everywhere i look people are reselling their used ones for about the same price as retail which is kind of ridiculous to me.

They’ll be back, this is just their way of marketing. For extra room on a new product. That’s what they did back in the day. Otherwise they would’ve been the ones to have had the longest production of the muscle community if they hadn’t went on a hiatus before.
@@CamaroZLS I have a 2019 ZL1, Auto. Riverside Mettalic Blue. Original owner. 2,300 miles. It has a Rotofab cold air intake. Throttle body, pulleys, tune and oil catch can. All those add on really woke up this beast. The tune added 100 mpre hp. If a 2024 ZL1 is made, I might trade it for a 2024.

Heating problem was fixed in 2018+

And I agree they definitely will hold there value well but in terms of collecting a car to sit in a garage no miles and waiting for value the more rare car is gonna increase in value more then a car that 10s of thousands exist of there was only 1801 z28s made. I do think the zl1 1le will be a good collectors car but as I already said I think there’s already a better option and a coming soon better option.
the selectable drive modes are mostly independent of the performance track management settings (PTM) there is no such thing as "performance mode" same setup as in my C7Z06 which as someone commented, as dedicated as the zl1 1le is at the track a z06 is still faster around the ring which is generally regarded as the gold standard.
You're right it's called competitive mode (he notified this in the video) and regardless performance or competitive mode would generally mean the same thing. Also gold standard obviously doesn't mean much cause same year z06 and zl1 are roughly the same price zl1s sticking to their msrp whereas z06 are hovering 10-20k below their msrp

I'm still on the fence with the purchase of my 2022 ZL1. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to drive, but I feel as though I gave up something more rare for it. My trade-in was a 2016 Chevy SS Sedan (Holden rebadged). The ONLY reason I was willing to part with my SS Sedan was because it wasn't a manual. It would be interesting to see how many ZL1s are out on the road today compared to SS Sedans. Probably the biggest thing I miss about the SS Sedan is the sleeper aspect. There's really no way I'm going to catch someone off guard with the ZL1. I will say that I love being back in a manual.

It's not that it doesn't recline enough, it's that the best position for the Camaro is a more upright position. I'm convinced that this is why the Dodge and to some extent the Mustang sell better. A lot of people want to sit in their cars like they sit on the couch at home. You can't sit in a Camaro the way you can in a Mustang and Dodge product because you need to be more engaged in a traditional driving position with the Camaro (given the viewing angles).

@@CamaroZLS I have a 2019 ZL1, Auto. Riverside Mettalic Blue. Original owner. 2,300 miles. It has a Rotofab cold air intake. Throttle body, pulleys, tune and oil catch can. All those add on really woke up this beast. The tune added 100 mpre hp. If a 2024 ZL1 is made, I might trade it for a 2024.
@@carratala59 those mods are a perfect setup. i also looked at the 2600 but i hear a new blower of 3.0 may come out. i’m keeping my eyes on the new ones also and see what the collectors edition has to offer.
