Never end a presentation with “Happy to Take Any Questions”...
Especially if you’re doing a presentation for Sales... and 99% of the presentations you do are all related to Sales.
You’re either selling an idea, a product, a service, the proposition to join your company, or selling equity in your business.
Let’s take the example of you selling equity in your company in return for funds.
When you say happy to take any questions, you’re essentially ending with such an open ended statement that if there is no intention from the other side to invest / buy, they’ll say, “thanks, I think we have all we wanted to know for now, we’ll be in touch with you”
And that’s code for You’ve Not Made the Sale.
Instead end the presentation with, “Would you be willing to Investing in our business?” (Clear ask which will get you an answer)
And if the answer is No... more like, it’s a little too early for us...
You ask, “what would make this business investable... is it more revenue, better EBITDA, a differentiated moat, or something else?”
With this line of questioning, you get feedback so that you can get them to speak out their concerns, address them with data, and go back either with a higher chance of closing a sale, or learning for the next pitch.
    Works in every sales conversation.
