  • In this episode I'm out exploring the Rubicon and testing the limits of our Tundra Build. I'll be 4 Wheeling, Camping, and Gathering Intel for a future trip when we attempt the whole trail. Sliders, Bumper, Tray, and Underbody... NOTHING is safe from the Rubicon Trail.

    I just did the whole Rubicon Trail with my Tundra, was a bitch filming it but I was able to post up a couple videos. Love how you're able to do all the filming by yourself. Great work!

      I watched part of the video, looks like you had some fun squeezing through! I have to get back on the Rubicon and finish it up. It's top on my list once the truck is repaired. Good work on filming!

      Thanks a lot! It's so much fun to film something like this because everything is so dynamic and I love a challenge. I'm really working toward getting 1 more person to help film for the full trail run 🤜🤛🍻

    I'm planning on doing the Rubicon later this year once my 🐏 gets it's 6 inch lift and I put my 37s on. I'm a lone wolf as well, but it adds a element of excitement for sure💪🤠🌅

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That sounds like a great trip 🤘 Hopefully you've got a shorter wheelbase than I do because 37's weren't enough for my length... I'd be strongly considering 40's for a full-size RAM. Maybe I'll see you out on the trail, we can give each other the lone wolf stare down 😑 🤣

    Awesome Video 👏 with the drone and also doing it solo. Loved the filming and just seeing a tundra go off-road on a beautiful trail like the Rubicon. I just think you need a light-bar on top to light up the trail at night. Other than that it was a great video 👍 of your tundra, Everest out on the Rubicon.

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man 🍻I really enjoy making these types of videos, they are by far my favorite style to watch. I'm looking forward to when I can complete the trail this spring after the snow has melted 🇺🇸. I completely agree about the light bar ❤️‍🔥... I was also thinking a few rock lights and 2 small A-Pillar lights would be ideal for night conditions. But, I'm waaaay over budget on the build. Honestly my TH-cam Channel and Amazon links are starting to gain some traction and we might be able to buy those upgrades in 6 months or so 🤜🤛when I upgrade the lights I'll buy an extra set of S2's for a giveaway to show my gratitude to you and everyone else whose supported this channel. Again... Thank you for your support 🔥

    Great video! I have the RCI aluminum skids on my Tacoma too. Glad to hear they can take the punishment. Is that an infantry cord on your dash?

      no one ever mentions the blue cord... good catch 🤘 yeah and those RCI plates took a smashing in this video th-cam.com/video/oGoxoZJ-qIM/w-d-xo.html had to replace them after that one

    Impressive...! I saw your post in Tundracrew. If you don’t mind me asking besides the drone what other cameras did you use. Impressive driving and filming. My TH-cam channel is mainly fly fishing oriented. My wife got a Tundra this September. It’s a good towing vehicle and hope to do a lot of adventures in it!

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for checking this video out 👍We really love our Tundra and find it's the perfect combination of daily driver/adventure truck. For the camera setup all of this was shot with: Mavic Air 2, GoPro Hero 8, and Sony A6600. But the bulk - drone follow, drone floating still 3-6' above ground, drone jib shot, etc. I relied heavily on the drone for this trail because of time constraints (I wasn't willing to clog the trail to setup equipment), I thought that would have been bad etiquette.

    Awesome video!! How often were you engaging lockers?

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man 🤜🤛👍 I use my lockers liberally when I have poor traction, not only do they help me climb with ease but it’s better for the trail bc I’m not digging holes with my tires.

    What model and brand compressor blew out on you?

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      ARB CKMA12 and upon further investigation it was the rear locker hose that was leaking causing the constant cycling of the compressor. Additionally those compressors are mean for 30 minute max run cycles, with the leak mine was cycling on every 3 seconds for 1-2 seconds over the course of 6 hours.

    Nice job navigating the ship through gatekeeper and whales bone. how many times did you cringe your teeth or said the “F” word under your breath? 🤣 let me know if you wanna check out other sections of rubicon. There’s a bypass around gatekeeper and whales bone.

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The day after I left it started snowing 😅 so I'll be hitting the whole trail once the snow melts... I'd like to attempt all the obstacles before using a bypass, I really think the truck will be able to handle it (especially with a spotter). Oh and yep, many a "oh 🤦‍♂️" especially when I bottomed out on the fuel tank skid 🤣for the 3rd time.

    • @4x2WagonFamily
      @4x2WagonFamily 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WolfPacOutdoors I know what you mean. I Changed the lift twice last year on my jeep cause I was bottoming out too many time on rubicon. It’s also good to break it up in to sections before running the whole thing so way you get a good idea of what you need or don’t need to modify.
      I’m planning a one day trip through rubicon and a multi day trip your more than welcome to join us.

    • @WolfPacOutdoors
      @WolfPacOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I’m available I’m down to ride 🤜🤛
      When I go for the whole thing this spring I’ll be breaking it into 2 full days and planning a 3rd just in case.
      I have a list of stuff to fix in the meantime, the Rubicon was rough on the truck 😬
