- Navigating the tightest Black Bear switchback in my Tundra. Wheel placement and good spotters are key. I have many years of off-roading and rock crawling in my truck and this particular mountain switchback was the tightest, thus far. Had to do a multi-point turn. Love this type of off-roading.

Nice. To all the people complaining about full size rigs doing this why the hate? It took a extra minute to back up a couple extra times whats wrong with that? Ill give that minute and extra reverse or 2 anyday to have more room and be comfortable any day. I drive a full size rig because i have a family dog and stay in the mountains months at a time. No way i could do what i do on a little jeep or midsize truck. To each there own i just find it funny most the small rigs you see these days complaining about full size rigs but stick there tires way out and add stuff all over the roof, back and sides of there rides making it every bit as big and even more top heavy.
Bear pass. There are some great videos to watch, the red jeep rolling down, or the hail storm from hell, waterfalls across the road
Bet he's wishing he had chosen the 2 door Wrangler for that trip!
😂😂😂, wow, scared me just watching him. Glad he made the turn.
Some of the comments are pretty funny. I drove my Jeep Cherokee down that road 20+ years ago. It’s exhilarating. The view is spectacular. The idea that there’s a risk that’s somehow not worth it - why would you snow ski, or water ski, or rock climb, or para-sail, or sky dive, or race a car, or any number of other recreational activities? Because it’s fun, that’s why. I don’t want to sit in my safe little bubble my whole life (like my parents do).
I totally agree! We do it because it's fun :-)
I'll give you a thumbs up for that. That was a tight switchback. I'm taking my 24 tundra to the ice track on George town lake sunday. just bare rubber.
Makes bronco II's, sidekicks, jeeps, 2 door monteros, samurais, and all the other small 4x4/awd trucks and suv's out there look like a heck of lot better of a deal...
i own a 4x4 Geo Tracker with 31s !!!
Slow and steady may not win the race, but it keep you alive. Good job on the turn.
Great Video
Now try it in the wintertime with a couple feet of snow and ice😎

Damn, that's nerve racking especially for the truck that size. I'd be scared shitless.
Great pilot
This is the perfect example of why full size trucks Don't belong on a Jeep roads..good thing this person had a spotter..
This particular switchback is sharp and off-angle and is capable of handling larger vehicles. Jeeps have to do multi-point turns on this switchback, too. My truck is more than capable of handling this trail and I have years of off-road experience in more challenging environments and trails. Having spotters is always optimal, but this could have been done without spotters, too, would have resulted in a little more time. There's this sense among some Jeep owners where they don't want any other type of vehicle on any trails and they think only Jeeps can do off-roading. We all love trails and the challenges.
If that's the case for jeeps , then I don't want to see them on the pavement !! It was made for real vehicles, full size. Stay on your dirt trails.
Shut up Troy. Nobody cares about what you think.
Perfectly done.
Thanks!!
That would be fun I would love to go there. My wife and I did that at moab canyon land went 500 yards payed 30 doklars then went down ravine same tipe of hill loved it then ended up by river great trip.
Mi Hijo subió Con su GMC y fue muy complicado ,pero lo logró Que Locura!😂😮
It is definitely tight in a full size truck.
Austin Powers must have been riding shotgun.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
But I did!! 💪 😁
I only need one backup on that corner in my jeep.
Broncos have separate emergency brakes on open rear end. Two hand brakes right or left wheels. Lock and drag the inside wheel.
Yes, in that type of setup you can do that and makes sense. This was a fun switchback, tight but doable. I've done a lot of other mountain passes in the San Juan's. Love off-roading!
❤❤❤❤❤
Lada Niva and no problems 😊
Couldnt of done that without 2 good spotters.👍
All these roads are usually crowded with utv's going lickety split with little patience.
That’s called SKILL AND TEAMWORK.
❤❤
Why?
😮😮
My little 1978 KD100M makes stuff like this nothing.
If you meet anyone it only takes about a foot of road space.
Haven’t come to anything to steep yet and barely even sips gas and injector oil.
Plus it’s a lot of fun.
$ door Tundra on Black Bear? Like taking a 22LR to a bear hunt. Not the right tool,
Sorry, but the angle of entry made by the driver made the maneuver much more difficult.
yes he should turn fully at the first
Wow..salam end indonesia
ว้าว😮😮
Because 2+2=5, right Winston?
No, because 4x4= FUN !!!! :-)
I went over it in an FJ. THAT was nothing like THIS.
Hi ❤
so many cameras, so little technique!
Would you not be better off with a smaller cehiclet
If I were that stupid I wouldn’t film it !!!
Just “ Yank the E-brake handle & slide that sucker into a 180 to make that turn”😏. 😆. Just kidding , as I know that drop off down the side of that mountain means instant death ….. but still cool nonetheless to picture someone doing the “ E-brake slide thing” 😎👍
Is your life worth a facebook video?
Why of course 😅
Doideira?! Kkkkkk
WHAT IS THE POINT ?? WALK & enjoy the scenery l
A mountainbike could take that switchback at 15mph
Nope
Lol, 3 guys are guiding you. Try it with nobody helping you in a 1 ton truck with slide in camper weighing 12k pounds! That's what real men do.
Ridiculous truck for that road. Ever ask yourself why you need a tundra ?? Why do we feel the need to photo capture everything we do?? Ok...yes...you are REAL men!!
You don't need photos or video because you sit indoors all day and have nothing to share lard belly.
People watching videos and then complain about them , good grief if you don’t like then don’t watch
Evidently you have never owned a Tundra!
Way too long of a wheelbase for that trail
😂😂😂 “why do we feel the need to photo capture everything we do?” Here’s a thought - TH-cam made it possible for anyone to create content and make money if enough people are interested in watching it. Content creation is one of the fastest growing segments of the economy. So there’s your answer 👍
A horse would be faster😅
Auto obesity😅
Absurd.
You should back down that section not turn around
My first thought, too. Why turn at each switchback, easier to drive one section, back the next, etc.
Neither of you have obviously driven that trail. The only place you even have space to turn around is 1/4 mile up the road. And if you can drive backwards on that road in a full-size truck without rolling off the mountain, then kudos to you.
@shinhochulp I back trailers into tighter spaces than that road. When I was 18, I was the only person to drop and pickup 99 hay bales with a tractor and bale wagon, without knocking a single bale off. Simple.
@shinhochulp I live next to the rocky mountains and frequent logging trails. A few years ago I worked harvest on 18,000 acre farm, and I operated about 30 pieces of equipment I had never seen before. LOL. It is my thing. A 'full size' truck is a toy.
Really stupid to be up there with any vehicle.
High risk. For what? Nothing to gain.
It’s the fun and challenging factor.
