  • My TD5 Landrover Discovery 2 left me sitting on the side of the motorway for the first time ever - 424,000km and change though - its doing well.
I'll investigate the fault and see what I can find.
Error code for those playing along at home:
(10,6) MIL LAMP DRIVE OPEN LOAD

Crank sensor shimm need it’s a Landrover part . They only do it when they start to get warm fine when cold . Cheap part 20 mins to fit

Thanks William, I do recall seeing a post or two about that. For now, I'll give it a week or so to see how this 'fix' does, but after a few days I have not seen the check engine light return - I was seeing it every day up until this video. It would occur in the mornings about 10 minutes into my journey to work, and then it had started appearing much quicker on my trip home after work - seemingly more often on hot days.
If it comes back, I'll look into the crank angle sensor and do an update on it... I might get the shim ordered just in case.
      Cheers, Steve

Interestingly, the truck ran absolutely perfectly for about a month - but the fault has now returned and is getting worse. I thought I'd fixed it, but it seems not. I've ordered the shim and I'll do a follow-up video on the fitting once its fitted and I've run it for a bit. I'll also investigate the wiring and connectors between the ECU and instrument cluster for issues
