Im guessing the dealer kicked it to auction due to the aftermarket/straight piped exhaust. The OEM exhaust system was probably too expensive for them to invest in due to the marketing strategy. The dealer already factor in a capped amount to spend on basic used car service and recon (oil change, brakes, trans flush, radiator flush, PDR, interior/wheel repair, paint repair and detail). Part replacements are factored in afterwards. Example: Lets say the dealership paid $16k-$17k for it. They want at least a 30-40% profit which would mean them selling it for over $20k due to making their money back on sorting it and profit. The competition dealers have that same car and mileage for thousands cheaper. After that determining factor, the dealer rather take the loss and kick it to auction all because of the expensive exhaust replacement. I assume this due to being an employee of Dent Wizard working remotely for Nalley (Asbury) VVP (stands for Vehicle Value Program) here in Atlanta, GA. This is what we do to older trade ins that have higher mileage than certified preowned cars. All the trade-ins go through VVP. If its clean and has a good history with decent miles, we keep it to sell. If not, we kick it to auction.
@evildrizzt1 is true, but he was talking as a daily driver. So, as a daily, I say the dime a dozen because parts are plentiful. For a collectors standpoint, then the Viper. I live the Vipers but go try and find certain parts for them.
DAMN SON! You stole that Scat Pack! That car is sweet! It's in great shape! WOW! Well done! It would be hard to beat that Scat Pack for a daily driver. Because of its size and longer wheel base, it's just a more comfortable highway cruiser. It can move out, too!
I'm definitely going to have to say, I'd still drive the Monte Carlo all day over anything that you have ! Not that the other cars aren't nice but I just prefer to drive older vehicles from our older generation man !
That thing seems to have less issues than my 6.4L Charger with 1/10 the mileage. A true driver car that’s been maintained very well and also seemingly fair weather driven!
I just love the challengers. They are such cool cars and I think it’s awesome, How Dodge kept the original muscle car look, every time I see one it just reminds me of a NASCAR straight out of Daytona. Great Buy man!
I've got a 2017 Scat Pack Shaker with 175k miles on it. Its been a great car, considering all the mayhem its been through. I've hit 2 deer, ran over an alternator that came bouncing down the road at me, got t-boned on the front end by a non-drivin 16 year old girl, and got rear ended by a jeep that was rearended by a smoked up millenial on my way to work. Four front bumpers, two new hoods, a core support, four headlights, two left front fenders, one right front fender, a rear bumper, tail lights and a trunk lid. But I had a great body shop and it still looks perfect. The only mechanical problems I've had is a bad water pump and the radio screen. I've done 4.2 second 0-60 and 12.4 second quarter mile and with the MDS, I got 25.1 mpg on my way to work this morning. It'll smoke the wheels off anytime I want, and handles the twisties surprizingly well for such a big, comfortable car. For $15k, you stole that thing. I'll give ya $17k for it.
