  • Automation came to make life easier than it already is. Now, you can even automate your daily tasks or routines, freeing up some time for you to work on other things. However, there are times when you want to avoid that automation running every time. This is where the power of NFC tags comes in. With NFC tags, instead of automating some tasks to run every day or manually performing some tasks, you can automate them. Once you place an NFT tag and program it to do something, you must bring your phone close to the tag, and the task will start running. But what are some things you can do with NFC tags? Let's find out, shall we?
Today, we will look at 10 ways to use NFC tags for automation ideas.

How long do these tags last before they need to be replaced? If you lose a tag can you erase it remotely or can someone destroy it? Once people really start getting into NFC tags, I suspect we're going to start finding a lot of these tags randomly left behind in weird places. We're going to start finding them in restroom stalls (for a good time, just tap), parking lots, park benches, public walls, traffic signs, theatre seats, public transit, etc. I hope this doesn't happen, but people are crazy.

I can't seem to find anything on setting up NFC tags using Android and the app NFC tools ( paid version ). I was hoping you could explain to me how, using the tools app, I go about setting up NFC tags to run automations/routines on Android. I want to be able to turn on/off lights, TV, smart outlets etc. I have Google home, smart things, Aqara, apple home ( just on iPad, no iPhone ) and Alexa in my house. I've gotten the tag programmed to have it open Google home but I can't figure out where to go after that to add turning things on or off. Can I program a tag to run a Google home automation I already have set up? Can I have it open smart things and turn stuff on/off from that app? Any help would be appreciated.

This video makes it seem like after you tap, you still have to mess with settings on your phone to enable it.

Just another rehash of NFC tasks already posted on a multitude of other sites/videos, none of it being especially compelling.
