It's pretty cool this is one of the most popular 5.0 dyno vids. The car was bone stock except the axlebacks which aren't really good for any hp. Another buddy who had a completely stock car, even stock axle backs put down 385. Most stock m6 cars I've seen put down 375-385 on dynojet. The car isn't stock anymore. Haha.
Borla also takes the time to fine tune each exhaust system for every certain car. And that is if you get the entire catback system. These mufflers were design for a completely different motor, so yeah.
Lol. The oil squirters were causing some windage if I remember correctly, a little extra drag on the crankshaft. Ford changed their calibration a little bit for the bump in hp, but removing the oil squirters did make a small difference too.
I was just at a dyno meet with my brother who owns a GT & the numbers this 5.0 in the video put down bone stock are right on par with what the 5 other bone stock 11-13 GT's did that day. Of the (bone stock) 6 speed manual 5.0's, the lowest was 378 RWHP & the highest was 386 RWHP. The one bone stock automatic put down 360 something @ the wheels. So that 355-364 RWHP you claim most are putting down is off unless you're talking about automatic 5.0's? Every dyno, car & conditions vary obviously.
My 12' 5.0 has BOSS H-pipe, 2012 GT500 muffs, and k&n drop-in as part of Ford racing Pro-cal tune (said to be good for 16 crank hp) and I got corrected 383hp/365tq done in 4th gear with the tune on.
only change that Ford did for the extra 8 ponies was a slight tune. Aftermarket tunes are slightly less effective on the 13's. 08tuboss you may have had a less forgiving dyno or a hot day etc.
Incorrect. Ford got the 8 extra hp by removing the piston oil squirters that the Boss has and the 2010-2012 5.0 had. Amazing how much 1 accessory belt will cost you. Although 8hp is not enough to feel in a car that already had 412.
I'm a lover of all fast cars no matter where it's from. And just like anyone else they want to have the fastest car to beat their buddies in. I'm looking to get a GT here in a month or so. And my friend is getting the C63 AMG. That makes 369whp. So i'm definitely glad to see the outcome of the GT :)
Those are really high numbers for stock, those muffs are supposedly good for 6hp, whereas most muffler upgrades are going to add only sound...... Most are 355-364rwhp. The air must have been cool, actual elevation low and high pressure. I know these are corrected for std air (59* F & 29.92 baro) sealevel.
Oh & they were all run on a Dynojet. I forgot to add that. I know they tend to read roughly 5% higher give or take than a Mustang Dyno for instance. I only use DJ's though. I always have & always will.
i put down 394 with headers, exhaust, x pipe, boss 302 intake manifold, jlt cold air intake, bama 91 tune and stick shift ... Stock 2014 did 355 that day... it was on a dynojet
Great numbers can't wait to see what my 14 does now that it's broken in. So jealous of that valance. I picked up a Boss302 valance for mine though should go nice with my Mac axlebacks
SFBay69 not true. lol do some research. hood louvers aren't going to do jack to cool off the undersides of the pistons, which is what oil squirters do.
Whoever told you that the car is to be dynoed in 4th is an idiot. 5th is the 1:1 gear on the MT-82. I can show you the trans ratios if you don't believe me.
+Brett Hall Minus using different type dynos It is all about the weather not tuning really. Tuning is simple anyone can learn to tune after a few hours learning what to look for with A/F ratios and there isn;t a magic to it. chemistry dictates what is the best tuning. Density Altitude is why people get varying dyno numbers and no two engines being the exact same, but a dyno done One day at the same shop with the same car can be 15-20 rwhp different the next day just because of Humidity being higher or lower. ntm someone living in colorado will never make the same rwhp with the same mods as someone living closer to sea level.
I am kinda disappointed. I have a completely stock 2014 gt. 3.73's. 3k miles on it. Absolutely nothing done to it (other than the windows tinted) My first run on the dyno today made 356 hp and 325 ft.lbs. My last run made 362.67 hp and 337.89 ft./lbs. It was 90+ degrees at 3 in the afternoon, but the tech says that the dyno's adjusts values to accommodate for that. It sucks I am seeing everyone on here making more.
The difference in HP could be where your located at. Do you live in an area of the country that is higher sea level, could be he gas that your running, or like you said, 90+ degree day! Anyways, 362 HP to the rear wheels is pretty impressive.
You can remove the limiter but I wouldn't recommend going much higher... even on newer 5.0's they're limited to 155(?) and it has been shown that the drive shafts can get ruined if you go too much faster over the factory limit

Exhaust looks so awesome!

Also run is done in 4th gear not 3rd... Doing it in 3rd will add 12-15hp...

I put down 387 stock with older GT500 axle backs.
Great numbers can't wait to see what my 14 does now that it's broken in. So jealous of that valance. I picked up a Boss302 valance for mine though should go nice with my Mac axlebacks
you have a 12. 13s were beefed up a little from the factory. procal doesnt do anything either lol
i dynoed 388hp with just gt500s
Those numbers are higher than my bone stock 2013 GT. I'm running at 5800 ft elevation. Not sure if the dyno adjust for this or not.
didnt know they made a 2010 with a 5.0, also didnt know you could gain hp by removing piston squirters lol
Supposed to dyno is 5th.. And I laid down 383 bone stock lol.
What rpms did it make peak tq and hp?
The heat extractors replaced piston squirters for heat reduction. True story.
So I really don't buy this dyno being stock w/just axle backs alone... There's a tune in here someplace.
That's about dead on for a 13. My 12 with just a Borla Catt back and Airraid intake made 382/387
SFBay69 not true. lol do some research. hood louvers aren't going to do jack to cool off the undersides of the pistons, which is what oil squirters do.
you should dyno your car in 5th gear since its a 1 to 1 ratio.
387, thats cute Josh.
:D
My fbo just made 386 made me sad.
355-364?? those sound like #'s for an auto

DirtyD 4th gear is 1:1. No California gas guzzler tax bc of that fact
borla exhaust has a betta hp gain
Depends what kind of dyno it is. I have boss manifold and offroad x pipe and made 422whp it's all about the tuning.
Brett Hall damn thats good. i just order boss IM, airiad TB spacer, bbk 85mm, and jlt CF intake . i am hoping i get around 450

+Jeremy A Im going to assume you have no idea what DA is lol.
Jeremy A once the oil warms up you gain six or 7 hp also
Depends on altitude and the type of dyno. Different types of dynos read numbers differently. Some are more generous than others.
my dads puts down 423 stock what is going on here
Could be altitude humidity number of things
I don't see one of these putting down 423 bone stock. Especially considering it's rated 420 at the crank from the factory...
TheBigboomxX Vlogs Your dads a fucking liar thats how
They probably gave your dad the crank horsepower calculation.
This car is bone stock dude lives right up the street from me. Pro cal has been proven to be a complete waste of money on our cars.
379hp??? thats impossible stock. Dont tell me the exhaust made about 60+hp..
+Alan Bustos you do realize even the automatic GT's put down 350-370 range right? where are you getting that they should only be making 319? rofl
+Jon Joneza he must be on that 2010 by bs
I have a 05 v6 mustang and its speed limit is obly 120mph. How can i increase its limits? The speedometer only goes up to 120mph
You can remove the limiter but I wouldn't recommend going much higher... even on newer 5.0's they're limited to 155(?) and it has been shown that the drive shafts can get ruined if you go too much faster over the factory limit
Do not go much faster with the v6. The driveshaft is not designed for it as the other guy stated and you can actually cause the u joints to fail.
