OK, so what we've learned today is that Pudding Mountain is actually impossible because custard does not have the structural integrity to hold itself together in too large a quantity.
Funnily enough, assassination classroom also has an episode where a character makes giant pudding... that briefly goes over how she had to find a solution to get the pudding to keep its integrity at a large size!
I suggest you guys should've tried doing the one from assassination classroom cus it was a bit more unique by having different flavours for every portion of the pudding
Your lack of desire is despicable. There is never enough pudding. there could be a pudding tsunami going to wreck the west coast and it would still be not enough.
You gotta put the caramel on the bottom of the containers before you put the pudding into it, that's how it gets partially fused with the pudding. It still is usually gooey anyways, just gotta wait for it to solidify a bit before pouring the pudding mix onto it, maybe pouring in a spiral pattern if you wanna be super technical about it
If you're going to try Toriko, as close to real possible food as you can get from Toriko. I'd probably try the rainbow fruit jello. Trying to make fruit jello with as many different fruit flavors as possible
This looks more like Flan, and the idea is to coat the bottom of the mold with the caramel before adding the mix, that way the top has a dark top when you plate it.
But Flan - like most other pudding recipes - usually contains no gelatin. Gelatin is usually only used in cheap industrial products - and in Japan because it jiggles…
I'm so glad toriko is getting noticed. Its often forgotten despite being in jump and having two crossovers with one piece and even dragon ball. There is so much food i would love to try from the show. I would love to see more food from the show done if possible.
My favorite part of toriko definitely has to be the landmine arc. The 5 chapters where Toriko is just laying on the floor with all his limbs blown off is peak shonen.
Absolutely adore the part where he puts himself together through his own resolve only to step on yet another landmine. Absolute peak and I'm sad about the copout ending of that arc but y'know, shonen gonna shonen
@slush1190 The ending is pretty divisive, to be sure, but at least once Toraki, Toriko's evil brother from another dimension, shows up, the pacing improves a lot in my opinion.
I think Alvin did miss a part of the recipe: The caramel top. The caramel sauce is supposed to be put in (I E) the bucket first to cool off and solidify, afterwards you put the pudding in. When you now put the pudding out, it has the caramel top. Disclaimer: i would never expect this trick to even barely work with the giant mountain, as it is just too huge to keep itself together.
Your wish came true. Though, perhaps one of the reasons may be because most of the dishes in Toriko are made off due because of fictional ingredients, and it would be impossible to recreate the taste of those food that the characters describe.
@@christopherfreitas-leonard7099 It is true, but there's also a lot of interesting concept they could try to recreate as well. For example, the Century Soup would be a very interesting thing to attempt, trying to layer many different flavours onto a flavourful broth.
It's really just a flan in American English. I'm guessing that, aside from the egg issue, the pudding bucket from Japan had extra gelatin and other stabilizers to make sure it would maintain its shape, which for a big monster like that is more important than taste. I'm also a bit surprised Alvin never added the caramel sauce to the bottom of the containers. The sauce going in first is why the top of a flan is stained brown.
@@shelbybayer200 Right, and in American English that kind of pudding is called a flan. I just want to let people know what to look for if they want to find this sort of dessert in the United States.
If you try this again, you'd prolly want to make the mountain container wider. I think the main reason it split was because it couldn't support its narrow frame.
@@AccAkut1987 There's a lot of variety to it tbh, however pretty much all of the recipes use made-up ingredients (to quote a few, rainbow fruit, mammoth meat, bear-cabbage and of course, coca-cola that are actually the tears from a sphinx.)

And how to basic
OK, so what we've learned today is that Pudding Mountain is actually impossible because custard does not have the structural integrity to hold itself together in too large a quantity.
I think it's doable if you just add some gelatin, and maybe some cinderblock shaped cookies for structural integrity, texture and taste.
Ahh, like Godzilla
I think if they made it a bit wider at the base it'd work, like with the japanese king pudding kit at the beginning.
Funnily enough, assassination classroom also has an episode where a character makes giant pudding... that briefly goes over how she had to find a solution to get the pudding to keep its integrity at a large size!

need an opening at the bottom so the air gets out that way and doesnt damage the pudding maybe ?
